- As part of the Glenbrook Vintage Railway's & Steam Incorporated's joint 'Spring Steam Supreme' venture, the GVR held the 'Auckland Steam Supreme' on Saturday 15 October 2022, with Ja 1271, 7 of GVR's yellow cars and 2 of Steam Incorporated's red cars.
The day consisted of four return trips around the Auckland 'Around the Block' circuit, commencing from the old Auckland Railway Station (before Britomart opened in 2003) at The Strand, and headed to Otahuhu via the Eastern Line and waterfront, where the locomotive turned on the triangle and returned to The Strand via Penrose and Newmarket.
The event was a contrast to the 'Broadway Limited' trips previously run by the GVR & Railway Enthusiast Society with Ja 1250, which ceased in 2005 due to logistical reasons. It was also the first steam train to run the circuit since Ja 1275's 'Rail Safety Week' charter back in August 2014. It's fair to say, it's not very often at all that a steam locomotive runs in the City of Auckland, with J 1211 being the last in 2018.
Watch as Auckland puts on a stunning day for Ja 1271 and her sold out trains with the Glenbrook Vintage Railway.

Amazing video my friend! Super like 👍
Great footage and camera angles! It's so cool to see these engines really fly, they don't get anywhere near that speed when they come north.
The only thing I have✨✨

Good stuff Christain

Unwatchable. Yet another youtuber who thinks it's a good idea to film something with as many cameras as possible and then pointlessly cut endlessly between them all.
🤣🤣🤣 righto then, move along mate
@@TNZvideos Great work as always, Finn. A pity some aren't as appreciative of the excellent free content you produce!
