I literally feel like I'm doing everything differently this time 😆 last time was 9 years ago, I was in an unhappy relationship, I didn't have a job, I ate a terrible diet, didn't exercise, during labour I had morphine, an epidural, a pudendal block, the works!
This time I'm happily married, working at a physical job so I get lots of exercise, I'm 40lbs lighter than I was last time I got pregnant. I'm vegan and eat healthy. I also hope to have an unmedicated birth this time!

My life is so very different at this point and I'm so glad we decided to have one more at this stage of life... I'm so thankful for the experience... I plan on going with as little interventions as possible for birth this time as well. I'm 32 weeks and baby is transverse, so doing everything I can to get him head down so we can move forward with the birth I'm dreaming of... I feel I've eaten a little healthier this time but I do give into cravings... Food is never as good as when you're pregnant lol... But congratulations on getting to a great place in life and getting to enjoy growing a human while you do it... I completely relate to the joy in that! When are you due?

I’m a labor nurse in TX and took the spinning babies workshop back in September and loved it! I’ve since started utilizing the positioning techniques while laboring my pts and have had other nurses come to me asking for positioning tips/tricks when they have pts whose labors are stalling. I’ve seen the techniques from spinning babies save mama’s from c sections due to arrest of dilation or descent.

I know it’s not the same as postpartum depression but; I had very bad depression in my first trimester. I was also extremely sick and losing a lot of weight. And when you said “you don’t think you have postpartum depression, you just think this is you now” it brought me to instant tears. That’s exactly how I felt and it was so much harder to deal with because I felt like I was losing me to my pregnancy.

I'm so glad you described postpartum depression the way you did. It really doesn't feel like depression as I know depression to feel like. I hadn't even considered I had it until I was on medication and I never even considered medication until my doctor asked if I felt I wanted to be doing better than I was mentally/emotionally. Not if I thought my mental health was BAD but just if I felt it could be better.

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I also plan to do things differently with this second baby.
The ideea with meal prep is very helpful. I just made a whole pot of bolognese souce and stored it in the freezer, in different size casseroles. We can use it as pasta souce, make a lasagna, or just potatoes with bolognese souce. We may also try some delivery services, so...
And if anyone offers to help, i won't have second thoughts.
With my first child I even asked for help, with little things, but people just dissappeared, even if they said they'll be there for us 🙄
I wish you a healthy and happy pregnancy! ❤️

My biggest thing I’m doing differently this time (3rd baby) is hiring a doula. I’ve accepted that my husband, bless his heart, has no idea what to do during labor. We just had our last prenatal visit with the doulas and they have been so great at teaching my partner how to help and feel more confident. It will be great for her to be an extra set of hands, guidance for my partner, and support for me if my partner can’t be there (he gets woozy around needles and blood). I am really looking forward to it and feel so lucky to have the means to hire them.

I just had my first child in July 2020. I don’t have anything to compare it to. But I LOVED the no visitors in the hospital. My husband was able to come and go which was perfectly okay, but we weren’t allowed any other visitors whatsoever. It was AWESOME. I ended up having preeclampsia, got induced, failed my induction and had a c section after about 36 hours of labor. And then that first day after delivery, I felt so awful! I was throwing up, I hadn’t showered in days, wasn’t able to get up because I had to stay on the magnesium drip... I wasn’t in the mood for anyone to see me. Also my husband and me were just able to enjoy our little one and didn’t have to share him with anyone. Next baby, even if we are allowed visitors in the hospital, we won’t be having them unless it’s our current child visiting his new sibling. It was just so special and gave me a lot of time to recover without feeling like I needed to entertain anyone.
Also am hoping for a VBAC next time if possible! 🙏
We also did not find out the gender for this baby and it was THE BEST. We were so thrilled we stayed strong and didn’t find out. That moment when they pulled him out and announced “It’s a boy!” Was seriously the most magical moment of our lives and I’ll never forget that for the rest of my life! We will definitely not find out the gender next time as well!
Hope you have a healthy and safe pregnancy and delivery! You are one of my favorite channels and I loved watching your videos while I was pregnant. Since I did end up with a c section, I was glad I watched your videos on them because I did feel really prepared for the possibility and not blindsided with it and the recovery that comes with it! I think it really helped me mentally, especially with being a first time mom!
    ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You can do it! That's about how long I went with my first, mostly because my milk supply dropped when my period returned and I just didn't have the experience and commitment to building it back up, but I found with my second baby it was just completely natural... I think the first can be a learning experience and by the second you start out already know half the answers to the test, and knowing the obstacles before they arise.

So what I did in the past with my three pregnancies that i had take home babies from was that once a week I would make a double dinner and freeze one and feed my family with the other one X36 = at least 36 freezer meals ready to go. It’s super easy to do this way. Just have some freezer bags, foil pans and aluminum foil on hand.
BTW : Tatertot Casserole freezes amazing well, is filling and kids love. Meatballs freeze well, and make super easy spaghetti nights, meatloaf, baked pasta, of course pizza, and various chicken casseroles freeze well. Chicken Curry Casserole is awesome.
Make a ton of pancakes and waffles and French Toast and freeze them OR heck buy it and store it in your freezer. Off brand freezer waffles can be purchased cheaper than you can make them. You can also cinnamon rolls and freeze them in a foil pan before baking enjoy later. Most fruit smoothies also freeze really well in a clear mason jar, thaw add some protein powder if you need that and remix or shake.
Lunch is the one thing I will prepare, but I keep it easy, like soup, sandwiches and prepackaged salads. 😊
Message me or tag me if you want any recipes.

what I am doing different with baby #2 : labor/delivery-not working that hard again lol, I will go in, let them break my water, get my epidural(amazing intervention btw, so grateful for that) and wait for baby to crown before I start pushing lol, not pushing for hours again when my first crowned on his own when I quit pushing lol. working with my doctors to make sure post partum thyroiditis doesn't make me so sick again this time. I am going to hold my baby all the time and treasure every moment I have since this is my last at 40. also considering hiring a private nurse to come in for help with care for myself, my toddler and new baby, will see where COVID numbers are for that one.

I'm pregnant with what are probably my last babies, twins. It's really hard to think of them as my last, but my body can't handle anymore. Anyway what I'm doing different with these last babies is just wanting it all haha. I know there won't be a next time so I want all the cute things, all the cute bows and blankets. Tongue ties are no joke! My first baby had tongue and lip ties as well and it totally led to postpartum depression for me. Feedings took so long that I was never able to sleep and then finding out that she lost so much weight at her first appointments was devastating (especially since no one caught her ties for a while). Please do a video on this topic as someone who has gone through it because a lot of the information about ties is conflicting, controversial, and so frustrating!

I just found out this week that my TSH is high enough that I will likely require treatment when we’re ready to start trying so I’ve been reading so much about what treatment looks like (and of course freaking out a little because the possible effects on fertility and pregnancy are scary). It’s just exciting to hear it brought up again, but from the perspective of someone who has had successful pregnancies! Thanks for sharing ❤️

Omg the prenatal by Naturello is in capsule and its a really good vitamin. The folate and b12 is methylated. The magnesium is the kind that is easily used by your body. The iron is chelated. The vit c is also a really high quality form. Seriosly check it out. I buy it on amazon. The only complaint i have is that it smells/tastes a tad bit like seaweed. I think its because the dha comes from algea and the calcium and magnesium are also from the sea.

I always love your videos! Best pregnancy channel! About the freezer meals, my freezer now has zero space, because I did a lot of stuff to make sure we would have enough nutritious food for the postpartum period. Soups are great, but I also have some mashed sweet potatoes, mashed peas, ground beef with sweet potatoes, coconut chicken with peanut butter, some pot pies (chicken, ham & cheese with vegetables, and shrimp with butternut squash), boeuf bouguignon with yuca puree, some Bolognese sauce, meatballs, and chicken bone broth for 8 days (everyone says it is amazing for healing). I focused more on proteins that take more time to cook, than you can serve them with some salad (you can buy washed) and some easy to make carbs (bread, the mashed vegetables, or rice).

Hi Nurse Zabe! I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first and I *so* appreciate your videos, especially how balanced and well-researched the information is (I'm also a biologist so maybe that's why! ;) ). I was wondering if you would consider doing a video or if you have any information on breech positioning? My baby is still feet-first now, and while I know she has time to turn, it's making me nervous. In your hospital does a breech position mean an automatic C-section? If not, what are the factors that would make a vaginal delivery more or less risky? What is the deal with ECVs (do you perform them)? Thanks a lot!

25 weeks today with my first, and quite possibly only! I’ve decided on delayed cord clamping, if possible. The freezer meals are a great idea; neither my husband nor I likes to cook much in normal circumstances, so having some easy meals on hand will be good. I never thought about having visitors as a stressor, but I can see how it would be. I’m trying to take 12 weeks of maternity leave, so spending at least 2 weeks just relaxing and healing is probably a great idea. And I, too, am thinking about resuming an anti-depressant immediately after birth. I took Lexapro for anxiety prior to pregnancy. I’ve been coping pretty well without, but I can tell pregnancy anxiety and COVID depression have taken some toll already. With post-birth hormonal changes, plus whatever COVID restrictions are still in place, I’m afraid those first few months could be hard.

    • @run4everon
      @run4everon 3 года назад +1

With my babies it went well to:
      1. Talk to my OB in my standard appointments so they could put it on my file for the hospital.
      2. Make a 1 page birth plan and show it to a nurse as soon as I got into the birth room. I also pointed out the important things on that plan including delayed cord clamping.
      3. Remind the medical personnel about my wishes when they started to discuss it after I gave birth. (Please do not feel badly if you do not have the presence of mind to do this.)
A good labor nurse will advocate for your wishes to delay cord clamping if she knows ahead of time.
Also it’s never impolite to ask a medical professional, “Can we talk about _____?”

Every day you inflate it a little more until you can comfortably get to 10 centimeters. It’s popular in the UK and I could only find it on eBay here 😞 it seems amazing especially for unmedicated birth.
