Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. I’ve been looking for something like that for a while been using third-party apps and the one that I used to use I had paid for it and all the sudden they updated their app with a new subscription model so now I can no longer use my old version, so this is great news. Thank you.
Thanks for making this short and informative video. It's quite useful for me!
Videos like this are so useful. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!! Finally able to record in 4k fast.
This is truly amazing. Thanks dude
thank you for your tutorial!
Thanks for the info!! This is precious!!!
Helpful, Thank you
no video record option in snipping tool app
thanks alot very helpful
Can’t believe it’s taken this long
Perfect! Thanks!
Thank you so much, you just saved me some money! I was in the middle of recording a Photoshop speed painting with the X Box, which was surprisingly working well on my Windows 11 until today. Well, today I got this message that I could only use it for game recording. Before that, I used to record my Photoshop drawings with the free version of Clipchamp, but it looks like now you need to upgrade to be able to record your screen. This is going to save me a little money 🙂
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing ❤
THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much
Whaaaaaaaaa 🤯🤯🤯 this information is so valuable thank you! I never knew this and I've had windows 11 for well over a year! Thanks we need more videos like this! 👍
TYSM!!!!!!
thanks for the tutorial, wanna record an ice hockey stream and also figured out how to record an audio as well.Since my laptop is attached with tv via HDMI the sound goes directly from tv and it saves the audio as well. Thanks again !
thanks!
tysm i mean realy good job :D
hvala ti

thank you
tysm :D
I don I dont have that picture/video toogle, why? New updates?
me too
dude....thank you
How can you move the window logo to the left and remove the widget, I dont like in the middle
Great future thanks
Thanks
So cool.
thanks
Didn't know snipping had its own recorder thank you
Is there a way to move that box?
I can't see anything behind it.
I recorded at my PC a TV show using Snipping Tool. The image quality was amazing, except for one problem that I also had when using XBox. When the object is moving, particularly, when it moves fast, the recorded video show some little jumps as if some frames were missing. That might not bother some viewers but it does bother me. When I check my recording technical details, I can see that it was recorded with 30 FPS, which I believe cannot be the cause of these "jumps" in the image. I tried to contact Microsoft, but that's useless, it's a look that takes you nowhere.
some information is wrong. This method is working with mic on! Please check the settings! it shows you can include the system or the mic audio or Both! GREAT tool! i love it
I am not seeing the recording option, just the screenshot option is there
thanks. I am trying to record my screen and I didn't know what app to use.
Thanx man, before this i used to record screen with xbox game bar but it sucks , it stops recording when splitting screen
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Tutorial!
Nvidia Geforce records screen (Full Screen) with audio for anything you have playing on your desktop through Geforce experience - press keyboard shortcut Alt Z to bring up complete menu anytime you want to use it
I have the most updated app but there is no Record function on there. It only allows screenshots.
Actually pressing the prt sc will get you to the snipping tool and it also captures audio without using any device
2 things. It does support desktop and mic audio 100%. The only iusue I have is that while it does record at your full desktop resoultion (1440p in my case) it does not record at your full frame rate. (144hz/fps in my case) it only records 30fps
Please share how you are able to record desktop and microphone. Thanks
@@CNET I didn't change any settings. I just did the recording first time after seeing this. and played it back and it was this very video I played in the recording and it captured it. And I just then said "hello hello testing " into my mic and it captured it. But there are 2 radial ticks in the settings thst spesk of mic and system audio that I just found while typing this. Perhaps u have them unticked?
Snipping tool records audio for me as well
so Microsoft made a screen recording tool that doesn't record audio, and a recording tool that includes audio but is limited in what you can record. 😅 lol this is a great lesson from Microsoft on how to miss the mark everytime. I can only imagine how a brainstorming meeting at Microsoft would go, "okay everybody how can we make something that's almost usable but not".
Audio recording is not as easy as Screen recording. There may be requirement of specific Permissions or privacy concerns. Its very challenging to reliability make it work with different hardware configurations and software environments.
Lol just when I thought Microsoft added $50 dollar value to their O.S...no audio capturing...ummmm think Ill just stick with a cheaper version OS and buy a $50 real screen recorder. Thanks anyways Microsoft.
@@013nil there are privacy settings in Windows that can control which apps have access to the microphone. browsers, video conferencing software, the built-in camera, etc.. all have access to the microphone just fine. what you're saying makes no sense.
@@013nil screen recording seems like much more of a privacy concern and security risk 🤦. I'd rather be recorded silently sitting at my computer then potentially record me typing an unmasked password
Gotta ❤ how someone is gonna goof big time on this 😏😅
Nope. No camera option when I open the snipping tool
Keep hitting error while attempt to record. Any ideas how to fix that?
GOOD
Not recording audio when screen recording is downright criminal
Cool finally a useful feature to make me happy about getting Windows 11
Yeah, the NO audio makes it a NO brainner
this is wierd cause shift + win + s shows recording option for me
Does anyone know a way to record your screen, computer audio and the microphone at the same time on windows?
OBS Studio
This now does that. Check settings
But when I am sharing the taken screen recorder video to WhatsApp or when I upload to the RUclips videos it is blurry
I don't have the record function on my window 11
I'm a RUclipsr and i wanted to record gameplay on my desktop i downloaded a game its on my desktop will the recording thing you showed work
Mine doesn't have a record option
Why do my videos always come out blurry? Not sure why its not clear like my screen
Why does my app not have a record icon...
excellent
It doesn't show the save option
how can we fix snipping tool screen recording error. please help me 😭😭
1000 years later
Update: It does support audio when screen recording as at Jan 10, 2024.
Snagit abd other apps similar have been the reason MS didn't add things like this in the past.
Is the video file an mp4, or something else?
Did you not watch the entire video? because he says what the file format is. If you're going to appreciate the information, then least u could do is show your appreciation by watching the entire video and not asking questions that the video answers
I don’t see any record button
After finding out that it doesn't record audio it was basically useless
Lol this no audio "screen recorder" is almost as insulting as Microsoft taking away the ability to Play DVD movies without downloading Extra Software.
I still used it. Just record the audio separately in audacity from the sound card, then overlay it within clip champ...
@@ChoppedAndSkinned or just use OBS
@@LEXOL2858does OBS record sound?
@@LEXOL2858what’s OBS?
Now I can screen record and make RUclips videos
lol didn’t know this existed 😂
It's so meta. How did you record the act of using the recording app?
Used a video streaming encoder with a 4K hdmi input to capture the Windows 11 laptop screen.
Just remember to hide your Favorite tabs.
🤨
This didnt work. After I select the Sniping App, i get a different menu. I think this is out of date now and not useful.
Congratulations to microsoft finally making this feature while macs already has this for a long while 😂
Recording stopped
Something happened, and we've stopped recording. Wait a
bit, then try again. If this continues, send us your feedback. /// ???
It worked for me the 1st time I watched this video to test it. Then I went to an online meeting and it did NOT work. I have another one tonight and tried to test it- and there is NO RECORD BUTTON anymore. Why? 3 minutes Later: Never mind. I got it to record again in a test. We'll see in 45 minutes if it works for my meeting.
💕💕❤❤
i see he's lip syncing to that a.i. voice 😂
but seriously, it took a long time for microsoft just to move away from avi & wmv for a built-in application that saves in video by default to a more user-freindly format.
It would be a great program if it worked!!!
a see on eesti keeles?
Too little to late. Basically stick to obs
W
Windows + Alt + R
Doesn't work
Wow, it seems like a basic tool, but its so complicated. Why cant i screen record for free
Sorry- but I'm gonna continue to use "unregistered hypercam 6"
Xbox game bar WAS great. Win Screen Recorder is just useless. 90% recording I do with this tool can't return the desired outcome.
if it doesn't record sound it is useless
That's all well and dandy. It's a brilliant tool. But when it doesn't work, it really doesn't work 🤬🤬🤬
doesn't work
crashes right away, useless tool
don't use. quality is awful.
hey thanks, using it now.
Thank you so much
