The drum beat is a so called blast beat. The idea is that you play the sixteenth of a beat devided between one foot on the kick and one hand on the snare. So you start with a bass drum kick on '1', the 'e' is a snare hit, the '&' a foot again and the 'a' back to the snare. As a right side dominant drummer that would be played with the right foot and the left hand, leaving your right hand to play either together with your right foot on the ride cymbal or hi-hats and accent every now and than on a crash, china or splash or do whatever else might work. There are though a bunch of variations of bladt beats. A very good video on that would be 50 shades of blast beats by Kevin Paradis here on RUclips Hope this helps
Love seeing open minded people "absorb" Gojira. It's almost too complex and confusing to sit right the first time, but you're always back for more, until it's an addiction lol.
Awesome reaction! I was blown away the first time I heard the middle section with the double kick. Also from my experience trace inducing fade outs are pretty common by these guys.
you're right about the trans thing , they like to repeat a riff in a loop , some people like some others don't . i'm surprised you like the song , i thought the way of all flesh ( the song ) was not yur cup of tea . The reversed delay notes at the very end are actually the note of the intro of the next song "Esoteric Surgery " ( one of the most difficult Gojira song to play in terms of stamina , i highly recommend that one too ) honestly recently i paid more attention to Gojira's lyrics and man .;some of them bring tears to my eyes it's crazy ..like Wolf down the earth .. but yeah first track of that album is Oroborus , you HAVE t o check the live version at eurockeene 2009 juts the best performance of that song
Only thing i dislike on this track are the vocals actually… that’s why i prefer the live version for example for this one. Ocean Planet - live rio The Link @ The Link Alive Up next?
@@Kaidan-p2l actually it’s the first verse that puts me off on this one. I’d rather have just the breakdown with no first verse, like they do live, just to let it breathe a bit. Idk i really don’t like that first line haha. The restis top notch. The intro and outro are just exquisit
can't wait until you get to their new album for Born this way and Amazonia music videos

The backwards part is the beginning riff of Esoteric Surgery acoustic which is the next song after The Art of Dying
