If you find the process of lining up frames to each other too tedious, consider that you could just stabilize the footage first and then proceed as described patching your frames together. And since they are all stabilized, you can pick as many frames as you want and won't have to line up each of them.
In perhaps another situation with many frames that each have useful background pieces, the reveal-painting each layer may also become impractical, in which case you could try simply punching out the action (Owen) first, with a loose roto stenciling, and then just stack stabilized frames over each other, which will reveal through to whatever layers have that region. You can then noodle the mask feathering etc while looking at the stacked-up result to make sure you don't get any hard edges.

question for mr. HowTo : what after that ? If I have to create the background with out have the footage ? or the exact point of view ?
I really liked the differrence technique to aligned the framehold. Thank you.
How would we use a mask to bring back the original plate that is not still in the back ? With a stabilized plate ?
It would be nice if you get this one to the finish line. Often it is the final tweaking at the end to integrate smoothly everything that is treaking me.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge mr. HowTo !

      Hi there! :)
Yeah, I didn't take this one much further since it would kind of be taking the shot beyond the point of the "neutral gray method" that I kind of centered the video around.
As far as trying to 'recreate' the areas that weren't in the original shot, it's obviously going to vary shot-by-shot...but in general (which you may already know):
      1) Borrow from whatever you can before you create something from scratch. So for instance, in this shot you could perhaps borrow the headlight from one side and use it on the other...or at least use it as a start. Similar with the windshield, etc.
      2) In some cases you will have to (like you said) do some paint work from scratch...and in those cases stabilizing and doing manual paintwork & then re-applying the movement might be quite helpful.
I could perhaps do a video on a shot that covers some of these topics if it would be of use to you?
