People really need to make a Nes godzilla style Creepypasta. Sonic himself isn’t scary unless Sonic is in story where the story narrates the atmosphere and uncanny new levels and a antagonist who’s not a sonic character but the story’s own “RED”.
Sonic is one of the those things that just can't be scary, at least not in the way the stories intends to. No matter how many EYX's or Needle Mouses there are, Sonic just doesn't have it in it's make up to be frightening. So so soooo many people (especially kids) on the internet have such high levels of tone and genre blindness that they'll just mix 2 completely different stories/aesthetics together just because it amuses them and not because it actually offers anything of value.
also nobody talking about how sonic exe is such a powerful fictional character but most people don't care since he's poorly written no matter what you say to most people they simply just don't care and that's why most people including myself are just simply giving up trying to tell other people how strong he is.
Sonic.exe is almost a plagiarism of another story that was posted months before on the spanish side of internet. Called "El Pendrive Azul" (the blue pen drive)
Also. The story of Sonic.exe looks more like a kid thinking about how he'd like a game made out of the story. It's waaay too detailed and the main character knows EVERY SOURCE FOR EVERY song and sound effect. Why he had to tell us the laugh is from Final Fantasy Kefka? Because he wanted his spooky game but was very lazy or didn't knew how to make it by himself.
even then I still don't think most people care since he's a poorly written character but he's still very strong though and some of the other variants can one shot kirby but I just don't think most people care that's why most people including myself just seem to give up trying to tell other people how strong sonic exe is and his other variants are most people don't seem to listen or care mainly cause he's poorly written but the concept is cool though.
as a part of the EXE comunity, I think that this creepypasta becase better when JC wasn't the owner of Sonic.exe anymore. SInce then anyone can create is own exe (I did myself two years ago and plain to make a remake of the original creepypasta). There's still bad exe but nowadays making those kind of horror version of almost anything created some good concept and stories.
Both have a main character with a dead friend. Both got a cursed object with a game. Both are Sonic 1 from 1991. Both have weird symbols. Both are ".exe" files. The only difference is that in "the blue pen drive" there's no overdramatic MC that feels bad for pixels or can memorize a 1 frame picture, or recognise stolen music and stolen SFX from other games. Just a cheap Sonic troll game made to induce epilepsy attacks.
As somebody that is part of the exe community i think Sonic.exe in recent years has not only improved itself it also brought back a lot of the steam the creepypastas community used to have, cause after the second Sonic.exe boom i've seen a lot more things from the good era of creepypastas come back, so as terrible as the original may be, Sonic.exe in the current state it is in is pretty cool 👍
Honestly it’s sad how much time people waste to try to make soinc.exe good. I feel like “scary” stories based on ips almost never make me feel compelled or scared. Of course there are exceptions but most of them are still pretty shit. I think that people should write more original stories instead of basing them on ips. I wish I could understand why people are so compelled by stories like sonic.exe.
I have never read the sonic.EXE creepypaster but I tell just by your reaction it’s not that good. However, there is a analog horror series about sonic called (shin sonic) you should give it a little check out.
