I always set my permanent base at the Tradeway. It's a pre-made structure. You only have to cover 2 sides regardless which side you set up on. You can collect hides , water, exp for your thralls iron, coal and stone. I also set up an elevator to get down just south west of my base and it's easy access to sepermaru and the unnamed city. You can also kill 2 1 skull deer along the river route and Rotbranch who drops legendary weapons. If you don't need em just disassemble into star metal and make your tools. I've literally never mined for star metal tools. There are other advantages too I just literally can't list them all.
Thank you for having 1440 available! I'm just getting into the game for the first time myself but it's not my first survival so hopefully I'll be fine after this vid
Thanks for the tips. It would be great if you could share tips for single player. I know most of these tips that you shared in your video could do the trick but I'm tempted to replay Conan (I only played like 6 hours) and I'm a single player fan.
I wanna know how to play this game solo, since i can no longer play with my brother because of our timing with work, i've wanted to come back to this game and give it a go on my own. It would be 2 years since the last time i played. Solo in this game doesn't seem fun. Any one have tips or ideas?
I just bought the complete edition and I am excited to start, but I have NO IDEA what server to play on. Unfortunately everything is pretty empty these days... I wish I could find a good/strong community server that's still alive.
It might be worth taking a look at the official forums and the PC or console categories for "Servers & Clans", where others advertise for their clans or private servers. Wishing you good luck on your search and a good start in the game!
Well, the game is pretty flexible in regards to this. Usually, it will be a natural thing to move once you feel resources you need to progress further are too far away. But nothing stops you from having a second base or making your first base a little outpost. (Just make sure to maintain your builds so they don't decay).
It won't give me the option to use a b3droll to save. Also, how do you pause? Time and resources still slowly deplete while paused. Also I have a bow in inventory but can't equip. I'm a noob, can anyone help?
We all start as a noob, no worries. You can't pause the game, the only way to protect your character is to log out in a safe place. I don't know why you can't place a bedroll, but if you bind to one (or a bed) and die, you can respawn at that location. Your base will continue to decay while you are offline, so make sure to refresh it regularly by being close and before the decay timer expires. Not sure about your bow issues, you should be able to equip it like any other weapon - drag a stack of arrows onto your bow in your actionbar to equip them.
I love all your tips!! By any chance, do you know if that issue about the yellow lotus potion, which would reset everything that you've leaned, including all the knowledge from journals and the diagrams from the archives, is fixed?? I'm afraid of using it in the Island of Siptah and lose all my precious knowledge! I didn't manage to learn there how to make the other ones!
We did a bit of research and couldn't find any proof that it was fixed, but someone mentioned that they said they would potentially rework it instead. I'd say don't risk it. The reason we didn't bring it up in this video, is because it wouldn't be relevant for early beginners.
I just came back to the game after a few years of not playing. Everything is different and a lot is worse. For example, there is no menu that shows how to make things. No ingredient lists, no tips, no recipe books, nothing. You just have to either know, or use Google. Dumb. I also hate the construction hammer. I get that it can save time, but it is also part of the reason to can't find how to make things. Another thing i absolutely hate is the new journal. You now have to manually select which journey you want to complete. And if you happen to accomplish something in a journal that you do not currently have active, it won't count, and you will have to do it over again once you do manually select the journal entry. This is super annoying when the journal entry involves something that takes multiple hours, such as taming a pet or breaking a thrall. And unless you know exactly what all the journal entries involve and plan accordingly, you will find yourself constantly doing things and then finding out later that there was a journal entry for it and now you have to do it again. It was MUCH better when journal entries would automatically count when you did the applicable activity. And the journal rewards you collect almost never actually show up on your inventory when you collect them. I've only ever received 2 rewards or of the dozens one tried to claim. The fact that only horses and rhinos are rideable is BS. The fact that horses have many times the HP as rhinos is even more BS. You can't build traps for mobs. If you try, the mob will simply teleport outside of your trap. If you try to climb to high ground to shoot a mob from safety, the mob will immediately de-aggro and regain full health. The respawn rate is crazy fast. You will get half way through raiding a larger camp and find enemies you already cleared out, attacking you from behind. Dead bodies will regularly disappear before you get to loot them. I've also had several issues with things randomly vanishing from my inventory and crafting tables. I even once had my furnace delete the 12 stacks of iron stone i just placed in it. Trying to click on interactive objects while you have a pet/thrall following you will not interact with the object. It will instead tell your pet/thrall to move to that object, or worse, attack it.
Hi there and welcome back. Many fair points and opinions, feedback is always good, even if one might not agree with everything. Conan Exiles is definitely not a game with a lot of handholding, so either you love or hate it. The new Journey System (as flawed as it might be) does however explain a lot in regards to the game mechanics and crafting for newcomers - something that never existed in game before. Just a few tips regarding some points you made - the rewards from the new Journey System are almost all (except a few) Knowledge. You won’t find them in your inventory, but under your Knowledge page, most rewards are recipes you can craft. There was never a menu that explained everything you can make in game or a recipe book per se, but just another tip if you are unsure where to craft something. In the Knowledge, under the recipe, it always says where something is crafted, e.g. with the Construction Hammer, at an Artisan Table, Furnace, etc.
@Pixelcave i member said i wanted the game to hold my hand. But i do know that when i played a few years back, i never had to use Google to figure out how to make something. The information could always be found in the game. Not so anymore. For example, how do you make gruel? I forgot since the last time i played. I checked my knowledge menu, nothing. I checked my fire place, nothing. I built a stove and checked that, nothing. Finally i just got on Google and looked it up. And as far as i can tell, there is nowhere in the game where i can look up the recipe for gruel if i forget it again. And yes, i know that the recipes for some stuff can be found in the construction hammer. But that is just more steps to get to the same info i could get to in half the time and effort before. Then there are things that you can't see in the hammer or in the knowledge menu. And if you don't know that they exist in the game, you'd have to wait to just stumble on it by accident to know about them. For example, i wanted to make a double bed. I knew it existed but i couldn't find it in the construction hammer. I couldn't find anything to unlock on the knowledge menu either. It took me a while to find out i needed to build an artisan table and craft it there. But there was no way in the game to actually figure that out. And why should i need a special table for that in the first place? I built a bed with the construction hammer, so why couldn't i build a bigger bed with it as well?

That's correct. It's quite savage, I mean it's the world of Conan the Barbarian - you knock them out, drag them to your base by their feet and break them into obedience. So if that isn't your cup of tea - you might want to reconsider. 😎 It has to be said though, that one doesn't have to take part in it, you can play the entire game without. @@Pixelcave yeah I know I hate dying in games. I can't take watching my character dead. So I rather just start all over. Just recently I made it to level 60.
