Idk about for more perma bases, but my personal fave place for a starter base is that green area in H-4 on the north side of Noobie River, just south of Gallaman's Tomb. It really has a little of everything to get you up & going: tons of trees for wood, tons of stone, a bit of iron (like between 180~122 after mining in H-4 & I-4 iirc) aloe plants for heals, gazelles for food, you got spiders in H-3 for silk & ichor, plus brimstone in Gallaman's Tomb. Hell you can easily have full steel gear & be in full medium armor there, no sweat before you need to move on. All in all a great place to start out, and all you gotta worry about for hostiles is easy peasy crocodiles.
One thing you need to take into consideration when choosing a build spot is its proximity to an Obelisk. If you're base is far away from any obelisk, then you'll have a long run back to your base every time. You might to mention how close obelisks are to your recommendded base sites in future videos.
I like building on plateaus, such as the first area you were at I built just atop the high plateau over the small hill. Second base I’ve made was a castle up at the bottom right corner of D-12. I build on plateaus cause Purges don’t usually have a way to get to you and it’s hard for PVP to get up to you and cause havoc. Great ideas for base locations made me open my eyes more. 👍🏻
If you do build in a so called unassailable location as far as purge raiders are concerned, they will spawn right inside your base. This is an easy to fix problem on your part and a cool way to farm kills or slaves/sacrifices. The first purge will tell you where the interior spawn point is because that is where most of your base damage is. Simply redesign your base and turn that part into a thrall trap and enjoy farming thralls or regular supply of animal skins
The purges always spawn on the second level of that cave system in the north you mention. I always build walls on both sides to trap the thralls in there.
I've Build in the middle of H8 that island there, a good amount of metal is there as well as rocks and wood, A good amount of wild life for hide, easy to obtain bear cubs, And close to the entrance that leads to tigers, rhinos and elephants. There's also a pong near by for December allovera farming will of course a gator boss that drops decent equipment time to time, I'm also close to a tiger and elephant, and rhino boss that.... sometimes also drop good loot. Also not too far from many camps and stuff and there's 2 places walking distance that always spawns a Master Huntress thrall you can take. And as a added bonus I'm not to far from where horses spawn
2:11 I discovered this spot years ago (back when Purges weren't on-demand as they are now) and, like you said, it's a perfectly elevated spot where there's only one place the purge can come into. I put a big gate there and put all my thralls around that choke point and just go to town during purges. There's also tons of NPCs camp (Black Hand) directly west to capture thralls, there's also a load of iron over there too. It isn't difficult to bring an unconscious NPC across the river back to your base to your wheel of pain. I often build a vertical lift on that north facing cliff-side. There is also a Named NPC spawns next to the lagoon, next to an albino lizard. There's also a world boss that's your neighbor on the next island to the north. When you start a purge there's often times the game won't do it saying there isn't room, but you try if often enough it will spawn the purge base around the lagoon. Have you done a video like this for Isle of Siptha?
j5: Kappa head Island. home to the Temple ov Set in my single player. took over the whole island. built a port.... the rp was to build a broad slow sea worthy vessel with a detachable 'river' boat and sail out with supplies. i had soooooo much steel i ran out ov uses for it. amazing place for a noobie solo and a quick 2k ironstone/gossmer/brimstone while sorcerer spell page hunting. i can confirm it is purge PROOF. i was lvl 9. got a cultest ov Subek purge... they destroyed the stairs to my gate blocking the little gap where the named thrall spawns. and just wandered around killing the turtles and komodos. i walked behind them skinned the downed and picked off the weak... hid for the rest ov the purge... gained 300 hide a few legendary armor pieces. 10ish favor with my temple cost me 39 wood 14 stone?
I REALLY like the area around “Howlers Lode” -decent amount of thrall encampments near -diverse resources (aloe, iron, crystal etc) -two farmable bosses nearby -there are some natural pillar structures for tower builds on PVP In my server i have a small town in the area.
I build in the area right below the G10 base location, near Dina. Large flat area with prevalent iron. Only downside is the new Purge mechanics and no natural protection aside from the mountain. Decent place for thralls and for late-game loots. Dina is an easy lvl 4 thrall farm. I just hate the direwolf that always lives nearby.
I'm a big fan of the J5 spot early on. There's some camps and a ton of iron right across the water, and the Rotbranch is on the next island for some legendary spawns when you're ready. It's just really a long trip once you start needing ice and star metal if your not using map tables. As a fun bonus I have a couple of maxed out greater komodos guarding the ramp, just seemed to blend in with the ones spawning naturally on the beach lol
Crevice has 4 entrances, there are 2 more when you go up on the ledge to the left. there is also an ungodly amount of iron just outside at that upper cave exit.

Base area i've been using a lot lately is in i6 on the boarder if h6 at around the midway point. there is a little overhang just past "The Arena" (h6) when following the river. its perfect for an out of the way area with a single entrance, not too far away from an obelisk and plenty of thralls in the area. theres a pathway leading south from scoundrel's gateway in i6 that'll lead to just in front of the entrance to the area, theres a tunnel under it as well that you can build into if you want/need to. great for a beginning base. for a larger base area i like building in k7 in Messenger's Respite. build starting in the center with the water around my base and then work my way outward making the water into a bath area on one side and a fishing spot on the other surrounded by my base.
You no longer need to use a pillar as part of the choice for a base location only for one of your transport stone locations that you may also decide to place your map, Small platform or building with a dancing girl to get rid of the corruption from the transport.
@@masterlee9822 im talking about a place to put a starting base. one for leveling before you get the teleporter and maproom. on most public servers somebody has built public maprooms near the obelisks so having a starter base near one lets you use those to quickly get back to your base

The crevice is an interesting spot, im looking for a new base to move. My starter base was also one of your hot spots. The crevice is good because of iron, black ice and star metal. Its a pain moving around especially on a horse. The jungle is nice but its so far from everything else though
Conan's map seems heavily flawed...you'd think they would spread certain resources (brimstone for example) more evenly throughout the map based on player levels and area difficulty so that players don't need to go on a LOTR length quest everytime they want to make level appropriate items. I dunno maybe it's intentional.
I've come to the conclusion that Palworld's fast travel is probably the best compromise. Go on a quest to find it once and then just fast travel into the vicinity on later trips. Early flying mounts are a nice option for keeping the exploration difficulty at reasonable levels, too. But Conan Exiles has neither fast travel nor the equivalent of a Nitewing.
d9 is a good spot that wasn't covered, you can build an elevator system up to the top of the bridge making a huge base and a small area under it on the half way mark up the bridge.
I built my starter base ontop of the tower directly north of Lian's Watch - its perfect, almost every resource close by plus 10 nordheimer camps to raid for chests and loot - purges cant get access to it either
With custom teleporters with the new update, location near resources doesn't matter. Build somewhere with a nice view and port anywhere you like with the new teleport system.
The best thing about the second location in the early game is that it's directly across from Lookout Point, which has the easiest and safest place to mine a significant amount of iron when starting a new character. You swim over, grab the iron from the beach, climb up the two sides and grab a bunch more, and swim back with hundreds of iron.
We have built a good size Base on the island at H8. You can build right upto the marked ruins on the right side of the island and we built right upto the water which created a natural moat.
Hah first ever playthrough this weekend and I found and built on the second location within like 5 hours of me spawning in. I love the area but you can't do any purges unless you build a bridge across the river.
that one at g10 a friend and i built a massive base from that area all the way to the northern part of the broken aqueduct and the nearby tower on its eastern side of the top lake we had the entire area walled off and used the spiked style walls for the outer layer of them so they could not be climbed if other players wanted in they had to be shown in one of the only two gates into the area which were both hidden
In solo game I like building bases (Mostly just fortified towers) at reasonable intervals. Like at the beginning of it I would make a a basic starting base in the middle of the starting river, then maybe make an outpost at the start of the jungle in the east and one near the Dafari outpost in the west of the river.
The D-11 cave is epic during a purge, especially when a dragon decides to join the 'fun' xD My entire clan was panicking when that dragon landed. while we were trying to fight the Purge with their mammoths. 'Twas a glorious ten min. battle before we all died 😂😂😂
My go to spot for a first base has been your second spot in this video. There are plenty of Black Hand camps just across the river that tend to spawn tier 2 and 3 fighters and archers as well as named spawns. Big iron mine across that river too that's very close by. Great defensible spot.
personal favorite, South of the dam and on the east side of the aqueduct around g8/9. nice, open, relatively safe. spawns horse foals, elk, wood, metal, stone, and is a huge flattish clearing.
My favourite is on top of the aqueduct starting from the dam. I have a line of foundations running down to the ground under the aqueduct and some thralls defending it and I have never had a purge spawn up there(it always spawns under the aqueduct).
Best base location is and always will be any location near the obelisk so you can tp back home easily. End of story. Unless we got new tp spells with age of sorcery that change this dynamic.
I need to say almost none of those Locations are PvP friendly... I would recommend one of the two Towers in F8 ,9\8D inside the pasage of the deserter, one of the big Jungle trees or L7 the Left Ruin of the East Baracks (Note i only See the German names of these Locations and try to translate them into English IT May or may not have the names i wrote in here but the Koordinaten are a right)
"Conan Exiles best BASE Locations" Doesn't say anything about PVP, it's for you to pick what's best for you, don't like it don't base there, these locations are based on good sized areas and nice viewing spots.
Sweet video! Thanks for the base spot ideas. Don't worry about the PvP sweats as they sound like they have daddy issues. I'll scout a few of these out and have a go!
The downside to the position at 8 minutes in is the first part of The Purge spawns on the ground underneath you, when they regroup The Purge can spawn in your base.
With the sorcery update you no longer need to build a base near a pillar for quicker travel back just a transport stone and maybe a map. a portal at both ends with various destinations.
Some of those locations are absolute no-go zones when it comes to modded. Especially when you have AoC and EEWA on the server. Base 7 for example is strong enemy camp, so building your base there is a bad idea for everyone ^^
@@ReachGaming Well, you did talk several times about "lesser build restrictions", which is a mod... Would be nice if you had tested those places if you could actually build there without the mod.
I am playing a private server I didn't know the farther away from start stuff gets harder so I turned on fly to go to the grass near the snow part it took me a while to figure out why I was dieing so fast but I have 2 amazing slaves now I had to make them heavy armor
"Nice and flat" isn't very defensible. I like getting inventive with terrain features. Without a building challenge to work around, I just don't get as creative.
@@ReachGaming Yeah, that's pretty much why I go solo these days, just can't stand PvP, and PvE gets so crowded you can't build anywhere if you don't join a clan. BTW, there are a few spots I've found that seem to be great base locations. Also I think everyone knows about the base in that part of The Dam. I remember when that area first opened up, someone discovered it and talked about making a base there. It also seems to be hit and miss as to whether you can build there.
The Problem is that there is Always Rain not like 3h in the morning and 2 in the evening just constant Rain , i have a Mod Just to remove Rain all together
@@ReachGaming 20:01 In your transcript. Your facing the direction that we go to mine ironstone from our base in the Crevice. We go south to the circle of swords and east to the gods claw. As for the Crevice you said two entrances. But there are two more on that second level. One by the ghost trebuchet and bear boss. And a climb we call the 'smoke stack' that we rarely see in videos about the Crevice. It's just as the upper tunnel turns to the third exit.
@@ReachGaming if you dont want to hide your building its the worse place. Why using so many resouces while you can use buildings and caves. The same resource you can use for a great entrance.

Best base location is and always will be any location near the obelisk so you can tp back home easily. End of story. Unless we got new tp spells with age of sorcery that change this dynamic.
I really like to build in L6. It’s not very flat, but it’s a big area and the purge has to come up a narrow path to get to it.
Great suggestion
@2:15 I always call that "Neeb's Island"
👍
Me too lol
Some interesting spots to have a look at thanks, im looking forward to the new update and learning how to play the game again
So building a tower in the water isn't a good idea?? I was starting a 160 foot foundation with my space above in the sky. New player 😂
It may not be the best spot for a base, but I always like setting up base next to the oasis in E7
So is there still a thing if you build in water and no contact to main land purge will spawn close to base but never in base?
Build in water & purge will spawn in your base far as I know.
Sweet video! Thanks for the base spot ideas. Don't worry about the PvP sweats as they sound like they have daddy issues. I'll scout a few of these out and have a go!
Yip, plenty of those folk in my comment section, I appreciate your support 🤠🤘
I agree those are all some pretty good locations. You gave me some ideas on where to may build when 3.0 comes out.
The downside to the position at 8 minutes in is the first part of The Purge spawns on the ground underneath you, when they regroup The Purge can spawn in your base.
The purge is extremely random... I've had them do silly things at random spots.
The plateau in the top right of g6 is my favorite place to build
18:05 there is 3 entrance to the cave!
👍
is there a ways to find out whether the purge will spawn on your base roof or not?
Usually happens when u base in middle of water
I always build inside and around a perma structure. That way of I'm attacked by a god it will do minimum damage. I also build up high.
For PVP? definitely a good idea.
There are four entrances to the Crevice, and people do build there on official.
Great!
With the sorcery update you no longer need to build a base near a pillar for quicker travel back just a transport stone and maybe a map. a portal at both ends with various destinations.
I know.
Some of those locations are absolute no-go zones when it comes to modded. Especially when you have AoC and EEWA on the server. Base 7 for example is strong enemy camp, so building your base there is a bad idea for everyone ^^
This video is for vanilla, I got no mods activated.
@@ReachGaming Well, you did talk several times about "lesser build restrictions", which is a mod...
Would be nice if you had tested those places if you could actually build there without the mod.
No overhaul mods or map changing mods activated, I also mentioned "if you have less building restrictions" it would help but not required....
Ty for 11/10 video ♥ i love Conan Exiles ♥
the cravice shouldnt have any building restrictions, unless they changed it in some recent update. i had my base there, when the north came out
What Armor are you using in this video
Dankie, vir die rolprent.
Thanx, mate
I'm ready for 3.0 to drop. I plan on leaning heavily into playing it then. You plan on doing a server then also? And if so will it be patreon only?
Open to public no patron required
@@ReachGaming That's awesome, I can't wait.
14:00 is amazing as a forward base.
Great video!
Thanks!
I am playing a private server I didn't know the farther away from start stuff gets harder so I turned on fly to go to the grass near the snow part it took me a while to figure out why I was dieing so fast but I have 2 amazing slaves now I had to make them heavy armor
2:20 is me fav location. Across the bay as well.
Like the locations!
you know I'm all about that bass no treble haha
Cool video
"Nice and flat" isn't very defensible. I like getting inventive with terrain features. Without a building challenge to work around, I just don't get as creative.
Ok
Most people like a flat area, but working around terrain can certainly lead to creative architecture.
I Bult a Great base at J5 the whole island is walled off apart from one choke point
Bro you can fly in this game? Might need to try it out
I had a base on H7 once, but it was on a PvP server, and it got annihilated.
whatever you go on the map they will find you.
How often is there a purge???
Depends how much you do in game, its default settings
what server you play on? south african?
Germany.
Are all these locations good to start a raid?
Im such a noob, but what are differences between official and unofficial servers?
Official servers are hosted by the Game developers. Unofficial servers are hosted by people like me, you and weirdos
@@ReachGaming which is better? Playing on Official or unofficial servers?
Best update devs need to make possible to caravan.
Thank you. Just the vid I needed to finally get my ass away from my first base at noob river :D
🤘😀
There are 4 entrances to the Crevice.
Yeah... The jungle rain is kinda annoying. You could say It's a... Rainforest.
Its really annoying
The Problem is that there is Always Rain not like 3h in the morning and 2 in the evening just constant Rain , i have a Mod Just to remove Rain all together
guess its mostly PvE base locations :P you should add that to your video description. xD
That is your opinion.
Is it pc or console?! Would love to play on that server
PC
Those are good for PVE on PVP easy raids 😅
Ok
Riversend my favorite spot
2:57 "theres no wild lie in this area" *wildlife literally hops by** lololol
😂
what armor is that?
New necromancer armour from sorcery update
@@ReachGaming do i have to unlock it somehow?
There's something hilariously morbid about NPC locations being called "Thrall Camps".
Future PhD students :P
"Iron is pretty rare."😅 No there was plenty of ironstone just east of that last location.
Which part of the video are you referring to?
@@ReachGaming
20:01 In your transcript.
*PVE* Base Locations
Mix of both.
@@ReachGaming if you dont want to hide your building its the worse place. Why using so many resouces while you can use buildings and caves. The same resource you can use for a great entrance.
@@diogonz7777 Good luck hiding.
@@diogonz7777 on a full server it basically doesn’t matter
Exactly....
I guess all of us 7 dayers are trying the new Conan release out.
I've been playing Conan for a long time, one of my favorite games.
base two is on the yoshi head island
My favourite spot rn is also near 8A but closer to the city up a huge cliff with no way up other than climbing. And the cliff is so tall from the ground u can’t see any builds or anything. I really like it all the resources, teleport near by and I’m hidden away next to thralls
The mod Mostly Sunny will greatly reduce the rain.
Armor?
Did you say "my server"? My buddy and I are trying to find a fun server to play on. Feel like official's are flooded with dead bases and trolls.
F5 ridge lots of iron
You have no idea of what Conan Exiles is if your very first pick was right in the middle of an undefendable desert.

For j5 I just prepare thralls lol
