Good delivery, good energy. Nice to see more starfinder coverage. I think at 6:40 you mean damage dice are determined by your weapon but i make mistakes like this lots. Good job
Good stuff. Makes sense that John has his own channel. I thought he seemed pretty well spoken on this stuff in front of a camera. Well enough to hold my attention and keeping me from spacing out from information overload. Lol
Glad to hear that. I’m not a natural speaker so the RUclips channel was a chance to work on my vocal skills. Less than a year old but I feel I’ve gotten better
Nice! Loving the new content! And I'm super interested in getting into Starfinder. I love D&D and it's great. But I'm also a huge scifi fan. I could have alot of fun here.
Starfinder and Pathfinder actually give Martial classes more options in and out of combat than 5e did. It took me awhile to figure that out. If anything Pathinder and Starfinder is actually better.
I haven't had a chance to play much Starfinder myself, but I'm a huge fan of the setting they made with it. Personally, I purchased the PDF versions of the CRB and other main book for $10 each, which I find to be a good value.
@@patient_6925 From what I understand, he is just giving a quick overview of the book, not a full in-depth look. I'm sure that video exists somewhere on the YT.
@@patient_6925Not as much as I’d like, though only a few sections are the actual rules. Much of the front of the book is character creation and then equipment. Later on is setting lore.

Well Paizo is good at hiding their wokeness in their books. It's usually their PR that's woke. Yet it does bleed into the books sometimes from what I've heard.
@@zenvariety9383 Take a look at the Mwangi Expanse and the big adventure paths like Age of Ashes. I had to retoxicate my masculinity with Robert E. Howard after reading them.
@@elecwiz171 Like I said, that's probably a book where the wokeness from the PR seeped into the book. It's also why Archives of Nethys is a preferred source to use since it's free.
6:40 wtf is he talking about? Hit dice arent determined by items or their levels. Item hit dice for the purposes of breaking are based on item levels. Player hit dice are not determined by items
Well, he meant the damage dealt by your attacks. The term Hit Dice as measurement of power level is not used in Starfinder, but common in DnD 3rd+ and Pathfinder 1st. The term damage dice would be more fitting, I think.
@@elecwiz171 He specifically said " weapons affect your hit dice". They dont. If he was referencing damage, thats not a new concept. Everu weapon has damage dice
@@elecwiz171 theres 3 references to hit dice in the entire book all have to do with calculating hit points. Experts should know what theyre talking about
@@patient_6925 Got the pages? I can only find hit dice mentioned in the conversion rules for pathfinder 1E: "any monster abilities that require to know a target's Hit Dice operate using the target's level or CR instead." Seems to me, the HD-concept went completely overboard in favor of fixed Hit Points and Level/CR.
Appreciate the feedback! We are feeling out how sensitive/stringent the woke score should be as we go so the feedback definitely helps us gauge how well we are walking that line between calling out culture war aggression in our favorite games and being alarmists over small things. Right off the bat, I love the intro for these videos. Well done, team!

Hit dice, damage dice. Yeah. Thanks, Nathaniel. I appreciate your vote of confidence

Awesome job! Can’t wait for more.
Looks like I lucked out on a Humble Bundle with soft copies all the first versions of Pathfinder and Starfinder from Paizo's webstore...

Its over 500 pages of rules, how much can you cover in 11 minutes?

It’s a fantastic setting that accommodates a lot of potential. It makes D&D feel shallow by comparison
@@AuthorJohnADouglas I agree
The G+G score is great! 😂😂 Subtracting woke points! 😁😄😁😁😁

Looks like the perfect sci-fi/fantasy game. Great review!

Minus points for woke!? SUBSCRIBED!
Yeah nice one! Agree
LOL. Woke score? A zero score? I might have to give Starfinder a second chance. My goto SciFi TTRPG is Palladium Rifts
After combing through the book, anything I could have tried to point out would have been nitpicking to the tiniest degree. Nothing egregious.
