Been dailying my fz6r now for about 6 months. It was my first street bike and have had it for about a year and 3 months now. One thing i can say is that its reliable. No issues whatsoever. Im just getting ready to change the sprockets and chain and just changed the tires aftter 14000 miles. Have only done one oil change and ya getting ready to do the 2nd hear when i do the chain and sprockets. Its one of those bikes that you can leave out and not worry about someone stealing because its so heavy but still fun enough to get your thrills on the interstates. I barely road the bike for the first 9 months but i sold my new truck last november and have started her up everyday for nearly 6 months and its been a blessing having reliable transportation for work. The only problem is that any fast car out there can easily keep up with this bike. Theres no way to gap a car on this bike unless you have the ability to weave and maneuver through traffic. Same with riding with friends on their sport bikes. Its just not a fast bike. Its still fun and great bike to learn how to ride and get used to the wind and traffic of riding but if your anything like me you will always have that desire for a real sport bike. That being said this is a special bike and anyone whos not a rider will think you have the coolest sport bike ever.
@@johnc6466 I recently picked up a 2012 FZ6R with 6700 miles for $3400 about 3 months ago which isn’t typical considering everyone wants around $5000 for them, I’ve even seen them in dealerships used for up to $7000 which is insane. But anywhere between $4000-$5000 is fair as long as its in good shape and doesn’t need anything
I've had an FZ6R since 2019. Love it! Daily commuter (I'm retired now). Even at 53 it fits well, passes before you can blink, the rider is upright (good for seeing traffic and super easy on my back as a disabled veteran). I highly recommend this bike for anyone wanting to save money, not trying to kill themselves (more torque you've got, the more u wanna do dumb stuff in my opinion) look good, learn, have fun and not save your back. 7th bike. Most overall enjoyment yet. Although my Harley Night rod Special is a beast, the stretch on my upper back is NOT comfortable AT ALL. And kids absolutely love the look up this bike. 😊 I'm also 6'2 and except for my cruisers, I don't get many cramps on it. Experienced long-legged riders know exactly what I'm talking about. And at my height I don't look like I'm riding in the circus. Great bike. Been riding street and dirt bikes for longer than most people reading this. It's a great bike.

Absolutely love this bike. Rode this from PA to ME. PA to GA and it was sooo comfortable. Plenty of power and torque. Add the road 6 tires and twisties are alot more fun. However, the top end stock is 125mph. With a flash and tune about 140mph. It is basically a detuned R6. Perfect commuter, street, distance, all around best bike with room to grow.
Why is it that everyone immediately compares the FZ6R to the R6? The FZ6R is NOT a super sport. It is an entry level sport touring! Compare it to an FJR1300!
Because the FZ6R motor was literally taken out of a previous Gen R6, remapped and retuned with a linear power bend. It’s comparable to the R6 more than anything.
@@JayzBeerz No... no you did not, stop lying. Google it, top speed is 124mph you did not even come close to 140 just no. I owned a 2009 fz6r at one point. The bike was slow period.

The CBR650f is a tad bit faster than the FZ, it’s nothing to make a big deal about at all, I’ve ridden both of them. Yeah the 6R is 77-78 hp and the fz6 is in the 90s but the 6R builds torque way faster which is why it’s great for the street. Throw a full exhaust, power commander and advance the timing by 4 degrees and damn this bike rips. I have. 2012 fz6r and have been through over a dozen different motorcycles and I absolutely love the 6R. Plus it’s basically maintenance free, only have to check the valves every 27,000 miles. Yeah. FZ6 isn't technically a Super Sport. Like the R6R it's pretty detuned for street riding.
