No Superliners because of clearance problems. Or at least that was the reason for doing it before, not sure with double stack trains of today if that would be an issue anymore.
I can remember in 90s coming into the Birmingham station on the right side of the canopy and 20 was on the left side late now they only use the left side
Enjoyed your video. A couple of questions: 1. What were you using to view the tracking map? 2. Do you work for the railroad? You have a good knowledge of the different yards and junctions.
Glad you liked the video! As far as your questions go, the track map was offered on the train via their wifi that was onboard. I really liked this feature as I didn't know all of the towns along the route so this helped alot! I don't work for the railroad, I've just been around and studied trains all my life so I've picked up knowledge on various routes, yards, locations and equipment over that time frame. Also if you're interested I have a second part to this trip where I took the train from Gainesville to Birmingham, this video is the return trip
Great video Ravenhawk! Nice train ride, beautiful scenery! Thanks for sharing! Have a great and awesome day!
Glad you liked it Vincent!
I'm surprised that there aren't any Superliners in Alabama. Unless I'm mistaken.

@@ravenhawk6910 I guess that makes sense.
Was this just a joyride trip
Is this the old L&N passenger station at Birmingham?

How is the Station in Gainesville? Taking my first train end of Nov. departs 12:24am
It's a small station but does have a waiting room and restrooms. It's looked after by a single attendant and they do not check baggage there.
