That part of the city has been a homeless slum since I was a little kid more than 50 years ago. They didn't have a lot of tents up back then. Folks just laid down on the sidewalk. But this mass of homelessness isn't exactly a new phenomenon in downtown L.A. The real sleaze was on 5th street. Living on that street was referred to as being "On the nickel."

Utter bullshit. Research homelessness in Skid Row and you'll see similar number reaching back to the 1930s, way before NGOs. The problem is with America's political and economic system of hyper capitalism. What will solve this is if Americans pay higher taxes and that money goes to social safety nets that actually work. The problem is greed and wealth hoarding.

BTW, if you decide to revisit DTLA, it would be interesting if you walked from the good areas of DTLA to the ones where the homeless congregate. People not familiar with DTLA would be very surprised how quickly the neighborhood changes.
If you do revisit this area try and get video equipment that is easily disguised and wear clothes that are not new but comfortable and loose. Comfortable but not expensive shoes too. You want to blend in all the areas you video.

Can you believe that Skid Row was established by city officials in 1976 as an unofficial "containment zone", where shelters and services for homeless people would be tolerated? Los Angeles politicians logic for for 47 years.

Its not that bad... lol, people make it look like a big deal. If it was, Skid row wouldnt exist by now, they would of darwin themselves out a long time ago due to constant killing. American homeless are lucky, cause its like a luxury in the US, if this was any other poor conservative country, they would of been dead by now; they even mention it themselves, why work, when everything is free. Lot of random people out in the public, kinda shows how safe it is; they're just basically 2nd class citizens without homes, some of which don't want them, as it requires responsibility, they also give give out "free" housing, which they don't want.

Weird thing is about skid row, it’s a good mix of all ethnicities. If you start to think it’s heavier on one side of race, pop ina couple tents and you’ll see. It’s a sign of economic and not racism. Weird you see white guys walking the playin America lol! Is it that one guy that looks like he’s almost going to die from EVERY SUNGLE PERSON he passes but ultimately gets a hand out and some good conversation?

Next, shut the borders and stop the flow of poison easily being spread by cartels.
