It makes me very happy to know that "large" animal species are still managing to spread to other areas even with human interference, and adapting to human presence
@deatherutts yes ,like coyotes in amricas .Today, there are coyotes in South america, too . The golden jackal migrated also because of climate change and adaptation and also due to humans. Golden jackals are very adaptable and intelligent animals.
@@deatherutts Actually their range has drastically increased in North America since the last 300 years because of overhunting which led to the local extirpation of wolves in most of the Us. But coyote weren't native of areas like Alaska, california, and eastern Us They also invaded central and even northern south America recently.
@arkprice79 Golden jackals generally avoid humans and are not considered a significant threat to small children. However, like any wild animal, if they feel threatened or cornered, they may act defensively. Attacks on humans, including children, are extremely rare and typically occur in cases of disease or extreme hunger.
@@Rewildingthefuture Alright. So, how would you feel about the Golden Jackal entering the British Ecosystem? They won't be able to replace the Wolf or Lynx
@arkprice79 I'm quite happy that golden jackals are coming to the British Isles, because in Britain the big predators have disappeared (maybe there are leopards and cougars that have been released). The golden jackals are mainly small mammals, birds and roe deer and muntjac deer and young wild boars. And this will cause a certain balance in the British Isles.
Fascinating that they are spreading. The video however borders on the tedious with all the repeated information and repeated imagery. With a proper edit you could have said it all in ten minutes.

I really wish humans wouldn’t feed wildlife. I lived in small village near Kleinmond about 70m 111km from cape town. If you have visited cape point you will know what I’m talking about. The baboons are extremely aggressive & will steal your hands given the choice. They even stole a human baby. Then there was rogue baboon roaming up & down the coast, terrorising the community. Foxes in the uk are truly wonderful! Likewise are these golden jackals. I’ve encountered black backed & side stripped jackals in various parts of Southern Africa. Perhaps you know this: if they acting bizarrely chances they have contracted the dreaded rabies. Do not import the golden jackal into uk. They are NOT native to uk.
