Firstly, kudos to the direction this channel is taking and for bringing bottles like this to a wider audience in video format. This is what the whisky scene is lacking!
A little unsolicited advice:
I understand that youtube videos benefit from having a short format that isn't too lengthy.
However, i cant help to feel that the whisky tasting is abrupt and rushed. A conclusion about the profile after 10 seconds to nose and 10 seconds to taste is quite superficial, especially since these bottles have had a long time in the bottle and would need some time to air out and find their footing to stabilise. I would recommend that the tasting be done in segments behind the scenes so that the viewers get a more comprehensive take on what these special whiskies really are. The people who want to watch these videos are the ones who do not mind a slightly longer format that is more in depth anyway! cheers
Hi there, thanks for your comments! The challenge for us is that we've had several comments along the lines of "you guys ramble on too much, just drink the whisky and tell us if it's any good or not" so we'd be hesitant to drag out the tasting section even longer! It could be that we end up having 'long form' and also 'short form' content for the same whisky? We'll have a think.
