Fun fact: Brazil's northernmost point is closer to EVERY other country in the Americas, Canada included, than it is to its own southernmost point. Mind blown.
That pin for Cape Spear is quite a way off; it looks like St. Anthony or L'Anse aux Meadows has been pinned - about 1000km by car from where Cape Spear actually is . Also, Cape Spear is not on St-Pierre et Miquelon, it's on the island of Newfoundland (Canadian province), 15km east of St. John's (capital city of Newfoundland & Labrador)
I noticed a few mistakes in this video. 1. The easternmost point of mainland Chile is actually very far south nearby an Argentinian town called Monte Dinero. 2. The easternmost part of Greenland is not as far east as you think because you were looking at the 3d projection from a wrong angle. The easternmost part of Greenland is a little bit west of Ireland instead of being east of the UK. 3. The continent is called Oceania, not Oceana.
I know about Musandam (The bigger of the 2 Oman exclaves that you were talking about), but I don't understand how the northeasternmost point of the UAE is separated from it by Oman. The only exclave the UAE has is Nahwa which is neither the northernmost nor the southernmost point. I actually went to Musandam before.
7:02 Some silly mistakes at this point of the video. 1) Cape Spear is not where the arrow is. 2) It's nothing to do with St Pierre et Miquelon. 3) And they're at the south of Newfoundland, not "east of Canada".
He restricted it to “mainland” Chile so technically no since that’s not attached by land. I still think it should’ve been included after the mainland bit was done, as well as the few Pacific islands it has. Same for the non-mainland bits of Australia and Norway. Especially since Norway has Bouvet Island and that’s a way more interesting geographical quirk than just finding the top part on a map.
I think he stuck to the very assumption of the continuous mainland Chile and thus didn't include Cape Horn. Because if were to include all territories, then Easter Island would be Chile's westernmost point.
What on Earth happened at 7:05? Yes, the easternmost point of North America is Cape Spear, but... 1. Cape Spear is in Canada, not St. Pierre et Miquelon. 2. The marker thingy isn't pointing at Cape Spear, nor is it pointing at St. Pierre. It's pointing at the northern tip of Newfoundland. 3. You missed an irony at 14:00. The island off of Cancun that is Mexico's easternmost point is Isla Mujeres. The specific point on the Island, that is easternmost, is Punta Sur, or South Point. Similarly, Uruguay's southermost point is in (or an island off of) the region called Punta del Este, or East Point.
There is a land border between Victoria and Tasmania close to Tasmania; that would be a good bit of info to include, as it’s technically the most southern point of any mainland state, but Tasmania should be included, it is HUGE.
