I want to try this recipe. When I lived in LA, I went to a cuben bakery in Glendale named Portos, they made everything delishes.
I'm from Miami and they don't make those out here in Texas so I will have to try to make it myself

Same! I miss Miami's delicious Cuban food that was so easy to get. But if you have Publix where you are, you can usually get them there. They usually have the guava and cheese ones too.

Would you also recommend a flavored cream cheese like strawberry? or will that flavor mess with the guava? Thank you
I prefer the regular cream cheese, because the guava paste is incredibly sweet and needs something less so as counterbalance. (Did you experiment with it already? How did it go?)
