JoshuaDD9000 Yet, I somehow still struggle on SNES Rainbow Road in that game in 150cc. 🤔 Also, I agree, even though I haven’t played Super Mario Kart, yet.
Im gonna compare all the retro tracks because it's probably gonna be fun. Super circuit's retro tracks are a lot more brighter, and use the backgrounds of the gba courses instead of the backgrounds of the snes courses. and the music is a lot more compressed, and the obstacles are all removed, except for the disappearing blocks in vanilla lake and ghost valley courses.
After watching this, I did side by side comparions of some of the maps, and I noticed that all they did was just change the tilesets for the SNES tracks. They did not factor in the larger character sprites, which makes the tracks more difficult to navigate, especially the Bowser Castle tracks.
They also didn’t have enough mario kart games at the time Like for example by mario kart ds they were already four main mario kart games and with ds five that’s why you see four courses from the previous mario kart games
Guess it wasnt the first handheld mario kart game nor did it have its own tracks. Also the character sprites are entirely new pre rendered sprites, different from the n64 game. Strange how the mario kart super circuit you owned is different than the actual game they released.
Are you okay with me using footage from this video in a video I have planned? I want to rank every Super Circuit track including the extra tracks and for the extra tracks would like to compare them to their originals side by side which you did very well here. I’ll credit you for the footage used of course if you’re okay with it.
@@JoshuaDD-nc3oz I can let you know when the video is done if you want:D. It’s going to be a few months however. I plan to rank every Mario Kart track Super Mario Kart through Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and I will probably do Super Circuit 4th (would do it 3rd but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is about to finish and so I would like to cover that game shortly after the final tracks are released). I do look forward to making the video on Super Circuit though. I’d argue it’s the most underrated Mario Kart game aside from maybe Mario Kart Tour.
@@JoshuaDD-nc3ozThe video is finally done and it premieres at 1pm EST. Thank you again for letting use the comparison footage. It helped a lot in comparing the remakes to their originals.😁
Me: Mom can we have Mario Kart retro tracks
Mom: We have retro tracks at home
*Retro Tracks at home:*
If it weren't for the music, I'd think they were part of a fanmade hack.
Its so obvious these were a last minute addition with the backgrounds from the GBA courses and the many removed obstacles
Who here is still bothered by the missing obstacles in the GBA version? Although, the tracks still do look great in my opinion.
I would say the missing obstacles make the GBA version easier

They turned choco island into sunset wilds

I wonder why the Mario Kart 64 courses weren't used as the Shell Cup, Banana Cup, Leaf Cup and Lightning Cup in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!?
Because they did not have a Retro Grand Prix mode for Double Dash.
JoshuaDD9000, they could’ve done, since they had one for MKSC. I mean, they did have unlockable characters and vehicles.
I guess the discs were too small.
They also didn’t have enough mario kart games at the time
Like for example by mario kart ds they were already four main mario kart games and with ds five that’s why you see four courses from the previous mario kart games
The graphics were so good that they didn't made more game courses/modes.
Awesome video! It’s cool how Super Circuit tried to remake every SMK track even if in execution I would say it went poorly.

That's all the tracks in Super Mario Kart
Wow; a full FORTY tracks...you sure do get your $30 worth (what GBA games cost at that time), don't you?
Oh no, this was all emulating. Totally free! :-)
@@JoshuaDD-nc3oz Yes but, $30 for this game really worth it in 2001

That one is All SNES Tracks.
Cool
Super Circuit is the first Mario Kart game to ever feature retro tracks.
Correct!
@@JoshuaDD-nc3oz I also realized that Double Dash on the GameCube was the first Mario Kart game to feature the mirror class.
Technically, not true. Mario kart 64 introduced mirror mode. It just went under a different name.
@@JoshuaDD-nc3oz I looked it up and you're right. I'm surprised that Super Circuit doesn't have a mirror mode.

It's a pretty big deal for the series, though Mario Kart DS perfected the concept
