A very strange battle to watch in how it turned on its head after the first round.
First round Gwame's material was good but i thought Scomo proper smashed it and produced by far the round of the battle to put himself in a strong position.
In round 2 I thought Gwame wasn't as strong with his material as he was in his first but it was still strong however for me Scomo totally crashed and burned - he had great angles such as the one of Gwame with the 18 year old but he didn't make the best use of it to create the strongest impact, to me his timing, bars everything was just not in sync which was surprising based on how on it he was in first.
3rd round Gwame again good without being exceptional and for me I felt Scomo got too nervous and didn't deliver in the way he can so I gave that to Gwame.
Positives for both gents though. Gwame - he gets his contenders match and another shot at glory and for Scomo his time in the limelight will 100% come - he's proven he can write and the improvement in him from day 1 is crazy high.
Well done both and Prem on a quality battle.
This battle goes back and forth each time I watch it, so Gwame is and isn't the right choice of winner depending on the day for me.
I will say though- I love Scomo's random interjections in his rounds that catch the crowd off guard when he delivers them so bluntly.
"I'll break into your house just to bark at your dogs"
"I'm going to pen to catch up on my reading list"
It reminds me of Calcium Kid in a good way, I hope as he evolves as a battler he doesn't lose that feature in his style.
He just needs to slow down and be more in control of his cadence in all honesty. He delivers every single line like he can’t wait to get it out of him. Like someone fed meth to a puppy. His writtens can be very strong

Maybe they're more similar than they first appear.

Gwame is low key shite tbh. His best writtens are mid. He always stumbles over them. And he has no cadence. I don’t even rate scomo but he zipped man up here comfortably
Scomos flow has the consistency of Stephen Nolans Sewage line after his 5th Big Mac of the morning.
Gwame 2-1. Scomo fought a battle, just saddens me how much gwame be’s slept on lately not just this battle but previous ones too
What got slept on though? Absolutely nothing he wrote here felt in any way special to me. He had freely available angles but he made them all feel super cheap and they fell flat. You need to come with haymakers if you’re going to be so obvious with the points of attack. But when you’re mid with it it’s just going to fall flat every time and make you look like a cunt
Good battle from both but I think Scomo win this win 2-1. Same story as Scauldy R1 Scomo R2 Gwame then R3 slight edge to Scomo. If Scomo’s angles were 100% accurate then questions need asked about Gwame imo

Great battle overall, but I think this is the best Scomo's ever been and I think I've got him taking this. That horseshoe theory bar is one of my favourites I've heard all year.
I was meant to have judged this but I was a half-hour away sitting in Dublin airport with a mediocre burger. Maybe we'd have a different champ if I was better at planning travel. Whoops.

Mad one. Gwame came out strong in the first but Scomo DOMINATED. Rounds two and three both felt shorter from both but they were the same story: Gwame consistent, Scomo rambling and sanctimonious. Rare to see a battler lose such a strong first round lead so fast

I've never noticed so many details among the crowd members and what they're doing. Delivery, flows, gestures were awkward on both sides.
