Does size matter? This is a question that has plagued airsofters for generations! Does the length of your barrel really affect your performance? I don't think its about the size, but how you use it! Easy way to get the best of both. Get a long barrel in a smaller frame. Get a bullpup like the Tavor Tar-21, F2000 or even the P90.Yoc can Still get a good barrel length but not have such a big platform.
having a longer in airsoft really only is a solution if you dotn care for BB weight. If you wanna use .35 and higher everything above 350mm will start to fuck up your volume ratio.

Currently running a krytact trident mk2 pdw, with amplifier and custom paint at my local field, and it does pretty good even in an outdoor environment. Just have to be a little more aggressive in how I play.
Hey Brett. I'm running the same gun with the leviathan trigger unit and I just love it. Thinking about a longer inner barrel and hop up unit as the guys suggested. Have you tried something like this?

Running a DMR and and SMG sounds cool and dandy, until you finish a 6-8 hour game and question the funcionality of your whole body due to the casual 7-9 kg of guns + X kg gear you brought with you the whole day :D
I have noticed on my new project aeg having a 345mm inner barrel does shoot longer and far more accurate then my 300mm in uk.

I can tell you, as a sniper, my 1911 can hit targets first shot at ~95 ft easily, completely stock. It is the fully licensed parkerized 1911
I bought an aeg aug a1, then I bought an aeg commando xs aug from the Boneyard. Then I removed the heavy xs front grip and replaced it with the a1 front handle, then I put on a long emg suppressor/tracer unit. I have built real guns for years, now I'm enamored with the airsoft stuff. The tracers are amazing. The Boneyard rifle I have removed the guts and have smoothed, polished and beveled every loose edge in the action... kinda disappointed at the amount of left over metal on it considering it was a proline.... but now I can swap barrels on the fly cause... aug is the way.

My personal feeling if your playing in a larger indoor field or a small to medium event large out door field a 12-12.5 inch AEG with .28bbs and a good hop is perfect (but I’m kinda spoil especially with the vehicle thing because I run a scar platform)
I get just about everything from ASGI. My 4 year old son shoulders the hungry hungry caterpillar M4 I built him like an RPG. I should have gotten him an 8" gun just so he could actually hold it. Something to think about for all you dads out there.
Dear Boaz you can build your MCX Rattler by buying the Laylax Rattler kit for your MCX.
I mean, I regularly run an SR25 with a 10" barrel at 1.5j for cqb at my local fields.
But still can run 14.5 berral with lower spring option. 7 to 10.5 berral leagth for qcd. 11.5 berral is the best for both feilds.
Im running an Elite Force m4 cqc with an upgraded 6” aluminum mlok hand guard. Tapp airsoft 15 degree drop stock converter, red dot sight, feyachi flashlight and an angled grip. The internals are all stock since im just going to run it till it dies out. This gun wrecks for indoor cqb arenas.
I wonder when people are going to realise barrel length actually has no effect on accuracy/range. Its all about bore quality for consistency, and bucking quality for range/accuracy

Are you happy with your R15 perf? And if you got the short one aswell, any major difference in accuracy and range between both being stock?
@@clearedtoland4627 the R15 performs pretty well. I didn’t end up getting the short one, instead I got a lancer proline gen 2 and upgraded it.
If you want a mcx ratler why don't you just buy the airsoft artisan ratler kit?
Fun fact I have a snazzy cyma platinum SR25 but I swapped the outer barrel and handguard for some shorty madness but I still hide a 267mm inner barrel so a 308 aeg with a 7in handguard 4in outer barrel and a 150mm suppressor and well its looks almost snubby but

Hey I just got a used asg cz scorpion carbine and the barrel was replaced with a short 6"ish barrel length matching the first half of the two peace sleeve. I had to custome make a tool just to remove the shroud as it's deep into the hand guard. I plan to play outdoors mostly so was this gun nerfed for accuracy with half the barrel length.
Indoors you only need a 200mm inner barrel. Im using a 110mm to keep my FPS within field limit.

You can control FPS with spring, stroke, and barrel.
The first 2 are self-explanatory.
Barrel, you can control with bore and length with limitations being stroke. (Less stroke, less max length)
Just assume a 6.03mm 400mm on a full stroke (16 tooth) is ideal. Shorter = Less time for BB to accelerate. More bore = Less air behind the BB.
I use a 6.03mm 110mm because I can't change my spring or stroke.
It WAS an accurate 55rps DSG. Now it's a 68rps 1.1j idiot hose.
Biggest problem with his argument regarding the pistol. You gotta carry and sling 2 rifles which is slower to transition to harder to run with and wield and is much heavier. A good jack of all trades with no med and a good pistol is all you need. Maybe an smg you can holster that isn’t super bulky but a shorty m4? Heck no
Plus short guns are better anyway It's annoying having to run slower than usual because you don't want to accidentally snap off an optic or something off of your rifle
im 14 have krytac trident mk 2 pdw then a very modded tippmann basic training with 420 fps and 25 rps then a zombie killer pdw custom built I've only been playing for a year

In airsoft? No. In real life? No actually! I’ve seen videos where pornstars actually admitted that just because dudes have big dongs, doesn’t Mean they’re good with it! They’re just egotistical. 😂
IMO the smaller the rifle the better it is. I run a g&g arp9 with a wolverine inferno hpa engine and a maxx hop up with a 60 degree bucking. I also have a umarex 416 with a extented quad rail hand gaurd, 25mm barrel extension , same internals as my arp9 so wolverine hpa and maxx hop. And i can confidently say theres no noticeable difference between the two. Both easily shoot up to 100ft before the bb really dips. The arp9 has a 186mm barrel and the 416 has a 300mm barrel. And still. No noticeable difference. The one difference in my guns is that my arp9 is set at 140psi and my 416 sits at 90psi.
To be fair tho because its hpa with both guns shooting different air pressures, but if i would to turn both guns to lets say 120psi i feel like it would still be close

A SR10 is my DMR of choice. KWA makes some good ones.
I use a SR10 as my DMR, KWA makes some good ones. Mines a old discontinued model though.

Ahem, GnG ARP rules both out and in. That shooter lives up to its reputation. Doing SpeedQB however is better with a shorty because you can hug cover tighter. Outside it doesn't matter.
Yes, my arp has no issues outside.. at all! Especially with an upgraded tight bore prometheus, modify buck and flat nub through the maxx hop unit.
Shoots lasers and over the same distance as any other players on the field, minus a sniper.
Trees are hard to hide behind also and having a shorty is a big advantage!
Smaller gun is perfect in buildings small rooms. Larger gun is better in outdoor

Great discussion! However guys, I would have a different opinion on what your talk around 03:20 that in airsoft barrel length isn't very important with regards to muzzle velocity. At least among GBBs within pistol barrel lengths (8-200 cm) the inner barrel length is a very important determinant of FPS, when other variables are held constant, as demonstrated here: ruclips.net/video/-J52HDyhMi4/видео.html
