One of My best souvenirs. I didn’t have that console but i played once a tournanent in University with friends. 3 consoles in the appartment. We had a bar in the kitchen with lots of publicity items. A board with All the matchups of each room. At least 25-30 persons in the appartment cheering the 8 players. First time i played the 98 version and i remember losing in finals with the Canadiens. Washington won the series. So much fun.
9:50 Thank you!!!!!!!!!! 95 > 94 Finally someone agrees with me!! The crowd reaction in 95 for a shot on goal, "oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!" In this case, 98 is the best for me. The amazing intro, and all the menu music. Best menu music, right up there with The Legend of Dragoon also for PS1. Great video!
At some point, maybe next year, you should check out 94,95,96,97 on PC. Completely unique compared to the console versions and I believe 98 builds off of that lineage of PC games SNES 93/94 are also interesting because they are unique from the Genesis versions as well
The issue with this, is that it simply was not the vast majority of the player base. Im doing these reviews as the basic consumer and PC gaming just was not on a household level until around 2003/2004
@@SleevelessGaming disagree. I think piracy was rampant during that era (which is why PC game sales were low until the advent of Steam) but many people did play. The problem was there were probably 20 pirated copies for every sold one. Also I just think it's interesting from an evolution of the game, because the PC version evolved from 93/94 Genesis, and was the flagship version of the game until the 360 era. But I get it, if you're not interested, you're not interested. I guess, just when you mention something like 98 looks like it's 5 years ahead of 97, there's a good reason for it. 97 is salvaged from a cancelled 3DO port which was a 3D version of 96 for Genesis/SNES, whereas 98 was years ahead because 94-95-96-97-98 PC each were all huge leaps due to better hardware and the best team on the game
Welp I unsubscribed. No mention of nhls 98 intro With that said I played nhl 98 on PC and it was a pretty significant improvement over its ps counterpart graphically

My favorite sports game. Loved NHL98
I have super fond memories of this game...bought a PS1 JUST SO I COULD PLAY THIS GAME! I now will have to dig out my PS1 and a CRT tv! Great job!
LOL at 8:15 the ref gets hit! They should bring that back into the game!
I recall having this on pc. Not only could you hit the refs. I put one into the bench before haha.
@@ZAM2552YT that would be awesome especially with those garbage tripping calls sometimes 😂😂 or cancelled goals cause of a slight goalie interference
My first ever NHL. So many memories.
I still play nhl 98 for snes every Christmas with the siblings
Love these videos. Look forward to them every day lol
I had NHL 99 on the N64. Intense.
Used to leave my Playstation on all day because I didnt have a memory card
The old days man, turning the tv off but leaving the console on haha

@@SleevelessGaming I played 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99 and 04 all just on PC. Wonderful games. Why did EA take it away from us?

My biggest gripe with this game are how poorly some of the portraits are edited.
I remember playing NHL 97 & 98 on PC and I think it looked much better than this. Was the PS so far behind?
Back then PCs were way ahead of consoles in general, they are still more powerful but the newer consoles aren't nearly as far behind
@@RIPJimmyA7X I wouldn't mind getting NHL 22 on PC, BTW.
@@themorethemerrier281 I would love if nhl was still on PC, I'd 100 percent get it on there
I think NHL21 has a ton of options, I don’t see what you think is missing.
I like Jim Houston too.
in term of strategies? We have 3 offensive strategies.. which have been the same since 2004. Overload/behind the net and crash the net.

Ok I see, that’s true.
Great series man! 👍
AI was better as well. EA. When they tried !!!
Can you do the ea sports nhl series for pc as well they were so much more fun
Can you do this game reviews for the pc as well
Did he skip a day or....
You need to play nhl 99 on the n64 I thought that was the best version of that era
Best nhl 2019

I cannot show them due to copy rights.. i mention in the 97 review that it began the golden era of intros. Thank you for watching in the past.
