And during her five-decade career in films, TV, and on stage, two-time Tony Award-winner Christine Baranski has played characters who are sophisticated, smart and savvy. The rare kind of actor who's great even when the material isn't. That's a skill not many have. She's always a joy to watch.
🌹♥️
Just watched the Grinch. She is THE actress
I love her in every movie, but her performance in The Grinch is one of my all-time favorites! She's so perfect for the role that it's like the role was made specifically for her!@@vanessaandreatta9098
My Lord, what an amazingly humble and grounded star. I can't believe she's 70, so beautiful and youthful. I can believe how proud she is of being 70, she's earned every minute of it in the best way.
Fell in love with her in The Birdcage. She is one of those “I’ll watch anything she is in” actors.
So true. I've literally watched things just because she stars in them.
Really? Shame, they didn't discuss about Robin Williams. RIP
Me too, The Birdcage and sitcom Cybill! ♥️
Loved her in the big bang theory
When Ms. Baranski speaks of notifying her mother she was accepted to Julliard, she closes her eyes for several moments, apparently visualizing that wonderful moment in their relationship. Beautiful!
To me, this woman is the incarnation of charisma and elegance! She is not only an extraordinary actress, she is also an amazing person! Long live this incredible lady!!!❤💖❤
And she still looks good I been a fan
Such a class act and so well spoken. Loved how it ended with her saying she had a lot of answered prayers in her life.
She's lovely. What a great reminder that talented mature women do NOT have to fade away.I have a feeling we'll be seeing her for a long time.Thank goodness!❤
Yeah I liked her in cruel intentions
Levitating actress. Loved her in "Mame" at Kennedy Center and then Broadway in "Boeing-Boeing."
Christine remains a class act! Beautiful, elegant, humble, and talented. Wishing her continued success.
Beautifully said!
she's a gem and deserves everything good that has ever come her way.
Christine continues to dazzle Hollywood with her bright spirits and her elegant beauty. Even around the Holidays, she is the lovely Martha May Whovier.
I grew up in Buffalo, and I am Polish. I can relate to so much of her background. She is a great actress!
She is amazing. I am so sorry her husband has passed.
I've always liked this woman, and her work, but I never realized how incredible she really is.
Christine's voice is very soothing and refined. She is lovely and talented. She seems to have that rare quality of humility.
this interview is so rich, Christine still has that same spirit that she had when she was a student, this is her year, I can't love her more ❤️
What a terrific interview! Christine has a very full life without having to shout it from the rooftops with "Look at me...me....me...me". The take-away: Be very clear about what you want ✨🌞✨
I ain't gonna lie when i was younger i thought she was mean from cruel intentions but i was a kid i didn't understand acting I've been a fan sense she is such a sweetheart I would love to meet her
I wish this was two hours; I could listen to her stories all day. What a wonderful, warm, amazing lady. ♥️
It's hard to think of a more charismatic, intelligent, and down-to-earth performer with such multi-faceted talent than Christine Baranski. I hope one day to see her in live performance--so far, I only know her work in film and television.
She is a gem. Her comedic timing on Cybill and How the Grinch Stole Christmas was overlooked. She had a HUGE range in her acting abilities. AND 70? Wow! =)
I first knew of CB on Cybill. They could not have cast an actress more suited to play Marianne Thorpe. She and Cybill were such good pals despite being so different overall.
Beautiful, talented, and in general a nice person. Very satisfying watching her talk.
This woman is CLASS, redefined! I've loved her in everything I've ever seen her in (and there's no way she's 70!! She looks fantastic and beautiful)
I must say I came to love her kind of late when she was on Cybil. She made that show & every show she has graced us with since. 💜
Nobody has been funnier than Christine Baranski on Cybill
@@debbiefuller3667 💯
I crossed Christine Baranski casually walking down Park Avenue in Upper East Manhattan on a saturday morning in November 2017. We briefly stared into each other's eyes. A highlight of my year. She's a breathtaking goddess.
Some moments you just never forget
Christine worked hard, had talent and determination. She is truly one fine actress.
I got hooked on The Good Fight and then discovered The Good Wife. Binged watched 7 seasons. She has great screen presence and real elegance. 👋🏿👍🏾🙏🏿
I'm a binger too and presently searching heaven and earth to find season 5 of TGF and getting nowhere!😈😈 Season 4 was amazing enough, almost as good as the West Wing, but (shouting now) I WANT SEASON FIVE!
But because it's an older series, I did manage 1 - 7 of TGW .
Good TV is life-enhancing. Bad TV is brain- deadening.
Love her. I was disappointed that her role on Big Bang Theory wasn’t mentioned. She is fabulous at comedy as well.
I only liked her as the mean and abusive mother in the Big Bang Theory.
So funny!
Especially since it’s on CBS… Yes, a bit strange.
LOVE her! I went to college in Buffalo. I’m embarrassed to say that of all her brilliant tv/theater/movie roles, her turn in “Mamma Mia” is legendary!
My mother and I love the musical and the movie. Meryl is one of my favorites, along with Christine!
Her voice elocution is flawless.....that’s why shes cast as classy always.
People throw the word "ageless" around a lot when it comes to women, but I can think of NO woman for whom it's so appropriate! She was gorgeous when she was just starting out, and she's gorgeous now. And I suspect her comic talents are underrated.
I first knew of her in her hilarious part as Cybil Shepherd's best friend, Maryann on the TV show, Cybil (1995-1998.)
She was also hilarious in the Steve Martin film, Bollinger.
Gosh, I love her beautiful laugh, so deep and rich!
Elegance oozes from her pores. She has a very unique way about her that nobody else has; truly one of our greatest actresses. Christine Baranski is in a league all her own!
Authentic emotions...love this interview! She's very greatful for her upbringing & important family moments. ❤️❤️❤️🎭🎭🎭
Christine Baranski is a super talent! I really enjoyed her interview.
I love her so much. She's a REAL actress. Plus, so beautiful, smart, classy, elegant, and wonderful in everything she is in.
I’m so glad she’s still shining as bright as ever. So talented and her beauty is ageless. I’ll never forget how gracefully she handled Cybil Shepherd’s narcissism about the Emmy win. Epic.
Love her in The Good Wife, The Good Fight, and now The Gilded Age. She’s such a class act! 👏🏽
I love her so much!!! So underrated and underrewarded
She is brilliant. And ridiculously understated
What a gem she is…. adore her
What a lovely humble grateful woman. The key to a rich life. Love her.
ALWAYS love Christine in anything she does!! A talent that is overdue for recognition!
I'm surprised Christine had time to sit down for this interview as she is ALWAYS WORKING. She has been in almost everything and knows practically everyone from Mila Kunis to Meryl Streep. I would just like to say...MORE PLEASE!!! Christine is absolutely brilliant in everything she is in...she can't help it!
Promoting Guilded Age, HBO. Amazing how much actor's leadership on set matters. Success follows Baranski, even if People or Rolling Stone haven't.
She’s always stood out from the crowd, but somehow I’ve never knew anything about her until now.
Christine is amazing. I'm from the Good Wife, Good Fight crowd.
what an honor to be alive at the same time as this woman
My brother-who was a messenger at the time -always recounts fondly meeting Ms. Baranski’s late husband when he was AMC. Matthew was a standup guy, as his wife can attest to.❤️😘😭
I remember watching Billy Clyde Tuggle on _All My Children_ . He was the scariest character on daytime television.
@@RaymondHng billy clyde tuggle was a bad mother shut your mouth 😆 lol.
I have always thought that there was something special about her. I truly have liked the roles and different characters she has played along the years.
Don’t let this great American treasure deceive you♥️She is the most underrated actress and I’m madly in love with her ! She has it ALL♥️♥️
69 years old and she looks amazing!
The adoration on Mo’s face is palpable 🥰
Mo Rocka👍💞, did a kids A.M. Saturday show, so cute out of Dearborn, MI Greenfield Village! ABC maybe?
She's great. A slow but steady climb to the top.
I am from Buffalo and I can’t say how proud of her I am that she is from my hometown. She is a remarkable woman.
First time I heard about her was back in the early 90s on a TV show called Cybill. I recall that the criticism was that she was too old for the show. I’m just so glad that 30 years later and 30 years older she’s now getting all these great roles. She’s such a joy when she comes on screen.
She is lovely! I would never guess she is 70
I worked as a Production Assistant on a movie Christine Baranski was in back in the early 2000s. I was also her driver. She was so lovely and kind and down to earth. A true professional.
Thank you for that memory.
She's so exquisite! The host is amazing too, he gives all of himself to an interview. Always remember her on he role of Cecil's mother in "Cruel Intentions" what a role!!!
Wait, she said... seventy?😳
Ms. Baranski is the epitome of what makes woman a Woman, and actress a Big Star. She is extraordinarily beautiful, she is exquisitely elegant, incredibly talented and she's a wonderful mother. My endless admiration for you, wonderful and sophisticated Ms. Baranski♥️
Spectacular on "The Good Wife." Excellent interview that demonstrates her humble background and unapologetic catholic upbringing. As a fellow Polock, it's great to see success for someone who has done everything the right way.
You spoke my mind exactly
We ran into Christine and her husband years ago in the GW Tavern in Washington Depot. I only knew her from her role in Cybill, in which she was hilarious. Stunningly beautiful and 25 years later she has hardly aged. I loved her in so many roles she played after that.
I want her p. Surgeon's #!
❤️ her modesty & sense of humor!
Oh I love her!!! She's one of my top favorites!!!❤
Christine baranski you are royalty in the American theater / movie industry your roots go deep into the hard knocks Life of a theater girl trying to make it and you did.
She is the best just the best. She elevates any part that she does
Being a native Western New Yorker, it thrills me to see Ms Baranski's success....and attributing much to her upbringing in Buffalo. She's a perfect ambassador who embodies the best traits of her hometown. Buffalo, like Christine Baranski, is truly in a class of it's own.
“Answered Prayers” How beautiful.
Why am I crying so much on a Sunday morning?! 😭 What a great story. Mo brings out the best in those he interviews. Ms. Baranski is always so good at everything she does. Looking forward to The Gilded Age (tomorrow!).
Yes, and thanks as I didn't catch when HBO/max would begin airing? Tomorrow. No preview on my end.
She's so versatile. She is a really great comedic actor. She has a scene in a movie called 'Bowfinger" with Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy where she's running down the street screaming "the aliens are coming!" that is so funny I'll never forget it
I adore her performances! She is such a talent.
I first noticed Ms. Baranski in "Cybill" and have followed her career ever since. I was shocked when I found out she was married to Billy Clyde Tuggle! Their on-screen personas are polar opposites but obviously their real lives were happy together.
This surprised me too. There are some articles about how Cybill Shepard found Christine to be "unfriendly" and that they did not get along. I think what really happened is that Christine ended up getting most of the laughs. That's not the actor's fault, that's on the writers.
@@60gregma I always take articles about female costars with a very large grain of salt. The media ALWAYS try to create some kind of feud or at least, rivalry. Christine WAS the best character on that show, though.
Attracted to the 'sourhern thing', maybe an accent challenge? She's wonderfully complex! Northern education got her excellence.✍️💙
@@janicechildress2952 What "Southern Thing"? Matthew Cowles was New York City born and bred.
@@60gregma I remember her clothing was superior to Cybill's too. I thought that odd.
Incredible actress. I love her humble nature. She is awesome!
A funny NYC moment. I accidentally ran into her coming out of a Manhattan location of Restoration Hardware, about a decade ago. She was talking with someone while standing beside her late husband, who was in the door way that I was attempting to exit. It's funny to me because I didn't recognize her immediately, but she gave me that; 'oh is she a fan?' look. It wasn't until later that evening when I turned on the TV that it hit me; "oh that's who she was."
I had a non-encounter with her too. I was at the Samuel Friedman theatre to see a play and went downstairs to the rest room before the play started. In the hallway I saw several people sitting on a padded settee and recognized one as Christine Baranski. She saw that I had recognized her and got a “I hope he doesn’t bother me” look. I never bother celebrities so I walked past to my destination. The lady deserved her privacy, she was there to see a show as I was.
I saw Christine Baranski in Oxford , at a place I go annually to learn , in one of the colleges . I won’t be more specific bc of her privacy , but she attends annually as well, I think .
She was so down to earth and comfortable in her own skin. It was never like having a “ star” in our midst even though I saw her at mealtimes . I admired that she is so intelligent & loves learning, she is truly an intellectual as she joked . She’s also incredibly beautiful w no makeup)
I knew of her husband first before I knew her. My Mom was a huge All my Children fan. She was briefly on the show I think in the mid-80s. She is so talented. I hope to see her working for years to come.
Absolutely love this woman.
She has such intense acting skills and superb comic timing 😆 uncanny.. loved her in TheGood Fight and tbbt .. and then I watch watching Addams’s Family Values movies, guess what she’s singing and dancing as a camp counselor.. totally took me by surprise
Christine Baranski is a versatile and beautiful actress. I can't wait to see The Glided Age and loved her in the show Cybil.
I'll always remember her as Mary Sunshine in the musical film Chicago.
how wonderful that she shared that special moment with her loving mother, brought tears to my eyes also, you are special in every way
One classy lady.
I always felt like her and Joanna Lumley were American and British counterparts. Love both of them
"There's a lot to be said for just being CLEAR about what you want." Someone get me a billboard! #inspiration
I love this women, enjoying every scene she’s acting in. Laughing, crying, getting mad and happy, living any kind of emotions she’s transporting to us with the whole intensity! Send her lots of love from Germany…
I love her so much. Everything about her performances are first rate and truly wonderful to watch.
SHE LOOKS PHENOMENAL.
Her laugh is the BEST! The producers of The Good Wife used that wonderful laugh to the joy of the viewers!
She can play any role and is wonderful to watch. Loved this interview and her family life says a lot about how she turned out , A very talented and blessed person.
I love Christine Baranski! I love seeing her, hear her laugh! She is smart, sofisticated and wonderful!❤️
She is a testament to belief in God and staying in doing what you love. As her father once said, "Bravo!!" 👏🏾👏🏾
yes, Amen ❣
That would be "Brava!!!"
@@m.c.master4622 Thank you for the correction. 😊
😇Christine! Her experiences give her insight on religion across the boarder, Mason Dixon Southern Baptist and Catholicism.🙏 Appreciate her dedication to her craft and confidence to be a true leader.
I just love her - a fantastic actress and a kind, grounded lady. I sold her a lipstick when I worked for Chanel 20 years ago. I can still picture her walking into the boutique, graceful and ladylike, asking for a tube of Coco Red.
What a talent! I always enjoyed watching her in anything she was in!
Shes a true performer. Ive been a fan for years.
She is so perfect, humble and amazing. She deserve everything. So regal... Such a Queen
Great story. Been watching her for many years, and she always gives excellent performances.
She's as elegant off screen as she is on. LOVE her.
She’s absolutely brilliant. Super talented
She is one of my favorite actresses!!!💖
I LOVE this actress!
I loved her as the high powered boss real biological mom in " The Birdcage" and really everything she does....
Love! Love! LOVE! 💜 Christine Baranski! She can do anything!
She. Is. An. Inspirstion. Always loved her ever since I saw her in The Birdcage. Her and Robin Williams singing in her office is such a great scene.
I've loved her since Cybill, and she gets better and better. The revelation here is how great this interviewer is! Very witty and he parried so well with her; too many interviewers can't rise to the level of the person they're interviewing.
Great interviewer! Great actress!
