Another great Aurora reaction! This was her breakout hit, that she wrote at 11 years old (!). And Billie Eilish has credited this exact music video multiple times for being the inspiration that made her decide she wanted to become an artist. I highly, highly recommend the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert version of this song. I think it's even better. There is also a cool video that she did for Genius, where she breaks down all the lyrics, that you might find interesting.

She has said that this song was written from a young Aurora to an older Aurora, and that home means home to her parents (in her mom’s arms)❤️ This song means a lot to her, and is a song she almost always sings at concerts❤️
Some facts about the Runaway Music Video: It was shot (as far as we know) during January 31 to February 2, 2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview). The parts, where she wears the 'furry' top (it's actually sheep wool) are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house. The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid very close to her parents house. The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange (Bjørnafjorden; Norway).
She does explain a lot in her Genius "analysis" of the song (a great watch, as she sings it beautifully a cappella), so I guess I've cheated a bit 😊. I do remember her saying the soft place to fall was always in her mothers arms. This song (and most of her songs, really), made more sense to me once I realized who she is as a person, and how important and personal her songs are to her.
Amazing song. She wrote it when was 11. And originally it is about different phases of sorrow and missing someone. And this runaway is connected with it. But you can not run away forever and you need to return to live. And it is also about the place when you can "repair yourself and this place can be home (it can be a place, person(s) etc.). Video was mane near her and her parents home. Thx for a reaction.
I think this was Aurora's first official video. Katy Perry saw it and mentioned it somewhere and then the avalanche rolled. The video also inspired Billie Eilish and we know what happened to her. You have probably already read all the dates of the song (when, why and where) in your comments. Yes, the young Aurora... who would have thought... A lot has happened since then but she still sings the song again and again. He just means a lot to her. Aurora wrote Runaway at the age of 11. She started writing melodies at 5 or 6 years old with the words coming when she was 9. The video shots by the lake are at her parents' house, the shots in the forest are where Aurora spent a lot of her time alone as a kid. Hopefully, I got that right. Thanks.
