I think it's interesting to hear the live version next to the studio version. they're like two different songs. The studio version uses mostly the same voice, but when live she switches between multiple voices which almost sounds vulnerable. I think she's a very talented artist and i think it's interesting how they can sound so different only by changing the voice a little.

I think she had one of the best preformances. Why so few votes on her? Her preformance was powerful and the song too. I'm sure if it only would be the votes that counted she would have gone much more far than she did. I don't understand what she sings about, but the song is still so catchy. She was also one of the most good looking on stage. Really like her whole outfit too. Well just wanted to say this should have get more points.

I love all the songs Italy brought to Eurovision since their legendary return, but I think the reason why this song didn't do well was her bad singing. She sounds out of breath. It's like with the UK this year. James Newman is actually not a bad singer, but he wasn't able to move around and sing properly at the same time, so it would probably have been better if he just stood still. Meanwhile, Damiano David can pole dance while singing perfectly. 😏
Damiano's lower register is more natural to a male singer, for Emma it was already a reach digging deep into the lower notes that's why it didn't sound good. I think Damiano would have done "La Mia Citta" justice live.

In this moment I don't understand anything, this song is incredible! I listen the lyrics all time so the volumen of the music is not over her voice and her actitude is simply AMAZING, full of energy and powerfull. If someone can't understand that is because he can consider singers but he's not capable to consider an ARTIST. Ok, her vocal performance was not perfect but since when an artist have to explain how she move on the stage? She's expressing in her own way, there is where an artist have personality. Anybody has to think too much, a lot of times happen in Eurovisión, the rest of Europe doesn't understand something that is great, it doesn't means that is not good.

I think Emma from that year is very underrated. Ok, did not do a good performance, but her healthy was not well. In fact, if you see other performances of "La Mia Città" (who she made in her concerts) the result was very different. In any case I think that in the future there may be new (and better), because from that experience she learned more things. In his last album "E Live" (from the concert held in the Verona's Arena) and "Adesso" (unreleased album) are proof that the voice has improved and now she eats the stage. Come on, queen Emma! Tutti parlano della canzone, ma nessuno parla delle cappelle vocali, è barcollante e è calante sugli appoggi (ovvero il fine parola nelle frasi/strofe) o di come invece di prendere di petto il ritornello teme di non prendere la nota e decide di andare di testa, non ha l'energia giusta, il vero problema è questo.
Non scomodiamo questioni serissime per cortesia come il sessismo, ho visto donne assai più svestite all'eurovision e nessuna critica, lei è stata massacrata (anche esageratamente per carità) perché la performance è stata obiettivamente impacciata e a tratti davvero imbarazzante e non ha saputo valorizzare una canzone carina. Che sia stata l'emozione o cosa altro non ne ho idea ma un po' di autocritica alle volte servirebbe.
Esatto, rimanendo sulle italiane in gara, Nina Zilli nel 2012 era ben più "svestita", ma la sua performance fu impeccabile. Peccato la canzone non fosse vincente, perché ho visto l'esibizione a distanza di anni e devo dire che mi è piaciuta moltissimo

Avesse portato "Per sempre", la canzone di Sanremo, sarebbe andata meglio, perché la canzone era bella e la cantava benissimo. Ha portato una canzone mezza in inglese maccheronico che faceva un po' pena. Il solo bum-bum-bum (che in inglese significa scopare) non c'entrava niente con il testo e con l'esibizione. Lei era bellissima, ma erano gli anni in cui sui palchi di tutto il mondo c'erano fotocopie orrende di Amy Winehouse e anche Nina Zilli è finita in questo calderone. Io ho guardato il festival sulla tv tedesca e i commentatori lo hanno fatto subito notare che si presentava come una specie di Amy Winehouse dei poveri.

La versione originale della canzone è stata molto più apprezzata dagli Europei e Nina si sarebbe piazzata molto più in alto.

I think Emma from that year is very underrated. Ok, did not do a good performance, but her healthy was not well. In fact, if you see other performances of "La Mia Città" (who she made in her concerts) the result was very different. In any case I think that in the future there may be new (and better), because from that experience she learned more things. In his last album "E Live" (from the concert held in the Verona's Arena) and "Adesso" (unreleased album) are proof that the voice has improved and now she eats the stage. Come on, queen Emma! Tutti parlano della canzone, ma nessuno parla delle cappelle vocali, è barcollante e è calante sugli appoggi (ovvero il fine parola nelle frasi/strofe) o di come invece di prendere di petto il ritornello teme di non prendere la nota e decide di andare di testa, non ha l'energia giusta, il vero problema è questo.

Non scomodiamo questioni serissime per cortesia come il sessismo, ho visto donne assai più svestite all'eurovision e nessuna critica, lei è stata massacrata (anche esageratamente per carità) perché la performance è stata obiettivamente impacciata e a tratti davvero imbarazzante e non ha saputo valorizzare una canzone carina. Che sia stata l'emozione o cosa altro non ne ho idea ma un po' di autocritica alle volte servirebbe.
Esatto, rimanendo sulle italiane in gara, Nina Zilli nel 2012 era ben più "svestita", ma la sua performance fu impeccabile. Peccato la canzone non fosse vincente, perché ho visto l'esibizione a distanza di anni e devo dire che mi è piaciuta moltissimo
@@ambam3291 No, l'esibizione della Zilli è stata completamente sbagliata. Avesse portato "Per sempre", la canzone di Sanremo, sarebbe andata meglio, perché la canzone era bella e la cantava benissimo. Ha portato una canzone mezza in inglese maccheronico che faceva un po' pena. Il solo bum-bum-bum (che in inglese significa scopare) non c'entrava niente con il testo e con l'esibizione. Lei era bellissima, ma erano gli anni in cui sui palchi di tutto il mondo c'erano fotocopie orrende di Amy Winehouse e anche Nina Zilli è finita in questo calderone. Io ho guardato il festival sulla tv tedesca e i commentatori lo hanno fatto subito notare che si presentava come una specie di Amy Winehouse dei poveri.

@@ambam3291 La canzone di Nina Zilli era vincente, il suo grande errore è stato quello di cambiare il testo e cantare una parte in inglese, doveva farla tutta in italiano, gli stranieri da sempre preferiscono sentirci cantare in italiano. La versione originale della canzone è stata molto più apprezzata dagli Europei e Nina si sarebbe piazzata molto più in alto.
It feels like she was really nervous at the beginning, when her mic glitched. :) Could have been better performance, but i still really liked her.
The mic didn't glitch. The microphones remain closed until they automatically open at a certain number of seconds into the song. She sought to improvise with it, something she didn't do during rehearsals, so she didn't notify the technical team and therefore, microphone stayed close.
She has a great voice, she should have sang other songs of hers which are more emotional like Io di te non ho paura

I'm Italian and I'm pretty sad, but not for the result (someone has to arrive in the last positions), but for the chance that Emma wasted.
I don't like her attitude and her voice, but some of her songs are absolutely beautiful, over all "Trattengo il fiato".

The studio version of this song is great, it was one of my favourites that year. The live performance ruined it all.
