Hi Shweta, there is an error in JBIMS criteria, the college gives 100% weightage to entrance test scores, and it accepts MH-CET, CAT, CMAT scores.

As per my knowledge JBIMS gives entire weightage to entrance exam score. There is no GD or PI for their MBA program. You can take direct admission if you have score.

Would like to add that IIM-A doesn't consider grad scores anymore so if people have a good academics during 10th and 12th you have a fairly good chance!
Bhai who said that. Just imagine so many you have 80% in 10/12 and 60% in Undergrad n 99% CAT. N Opposite to you another candidate has 80% throughout his academic life. Assuming u n him have similar knowledge n performance in GDPI tell me who will be selected ???
Hello ma'am, I'm glad you mentioned TISS. However, would like to point out that for Stage 2, the weightage break-up is 50% TISSNET, 20% Extempore Reflection Test and 30% Interview. Hope you mention this correction as well. As for TISS, it is a remarkable institution and definitely worth it for anyone who's interested in HR or aligns themselves with TISS' values. Hoping to convert it, though it seems unlikely!

That video was undoubtedly important for aspirants like us who were average in acads. Would like to request you to make a video on the colleges and their specialisation. For ex- XLRI can be targeted if somebody wants to pursue MBA in HR. That would be really helpful. Anyway, wish you good luck and keep posting such useful stuff. God bless you.
Miss Priya. By knowing more about XLRI/IIM/Harvard/INSEAD etc and their specialization will not change the fact that you are an average or below-average student. Unless you have excelled in sports or had an amazing startup how will be even clear the interview and perform better than other students having excellent scores + a better profile than yours. Here I am assuming you have already scored well in XAT or CAT which is also unlikely. a lot of students waste time knowing about B schools but the reality is "Beggars are not choosers". Jo mile wo lelo that's it.

Good job collecting all the data just wanted to mention something if you had the eligibility criteria(Grads 10th 12th) would have been fantastic. Because some of the colleges that you have mentioned like the IITs, etc have a bar of 60 percent in the grads.

Your Content is so helpful and informative,It really helped me to clear my doubts regarding the prep. for CAT. I have one more doubt,being a student of undergrad and tier-2/3 colleges it's difficult sometimes to have that much business and management knowledge from the academics so do we need to clear all our basics before entering into a B-school or the faculties helps student to understand the basics and all?
I don’t think there will be any difference of knowledge whatever tier of college may it be ,I’ve friends in one of the best colleges in country and I don’t feel any difference tho what we can do is study those specific fields while putting some extra effort that can give us some edge in Interviews.
Sit with a vegetable vendor or a panwari shop near your area. he will provide you excellent understanding of business and sales/branding. We can learn business management in every aspect if your life. Even as simple as how is your Tier2/3 college surviving in this tough time what is their strategy and how they remain profitable. If you can understand the balance sheet of your college then u are ready for an MBA and even get a good job in edtech sector during placements.

Hello Di! I’ve been watching many videos of colleges to aim for with a low academic profile. Mine is- 8/9/5.6. Being from the covid batch, I was passed in many of my semesters without any examinations and that’s why I ended up scoring low in my graduation. Watching and hearing many people’s experiences, it’s often shared that I don’t have a chance at top 10 B-schools in India. Can you please share your insights on this?

No it's not true FMS and XLRI these two colleges fall in to top 10 B-schools in india. And they don't give much weightage in academics.

Hi Shweta, I completed my B.Sc. Maths (Hons.) in June 2022 from DU. I started my preparation from 10th June. Currently I'm not doing any job or internship. I'm just studying for CAT. Should I also do some skill building or personality building course or activities along with CAT? If yes, then what should I do and for how much time? Please guide regarding it.
Since you are frehser , your entire admission process will be focused on your academics starting from cracking CAT n then PI with top professors. I suggest don't spread yourself every where n develop a niche in your profile. Like in Mathematics you can learn advance topics like Reinforced learning (Markov Decision Process), Bayesian statistics, Deep learning and explain in the interview how these techniques can be used in marketing or supply chain domain to create an impact on the bottom line. U are better positioned to say I know X,Y,Z with 100% confidence, and the rest I am not sure.

Please note : low weitage for academics does not mean there's no minimal cutoff. Example : jbims requires 60% in 12th. But this info is from other sources , not from their website

JBIMS never ever considers the acads, workex, and diversity. The criteria for admission is decided by DTE and not by the college. This says that jbims doesn't require any other condition for admission except for a 99.95+ percentile in the accepted examinations (cat, cmat, cet, etc). Nor does it have the GDPI round. Please get the right information.

Acc. To me, SIBM PUNE prefer great academic nd profile students only...got 99%ile this year...gdpi went soo amazingly well...but inspite all this waitlisted at 839...only drawback was that I don't have good academics its 8-7-6...so as per my opinion, Sibm prefers good profile students always !

I gave cat this year just on a trial basis without any serious preparation and got a call from iim cap (was preparing for bank exams so concepts were clear)... I was confused to grab the opportunity or try next year... This video really helped me! Now I will get a bank job and prepare for one year seriously and get into FMS or CALCUTTA!

Oh, I didn't know IITB also accepts nonengineers!!! I read on a third party website that they don't but the actual eligibility criteria is having either a 4 year bachelor's or a masters in any discipline. Glad that I looked it up after watching this video. 😅

Hi shweta, i am passed out 12th standard in this year from west Bengal board.. I want to persue simple bsc cs hons, and during that 3years of college, i will prepare for cat.. and if i will not able that time to crack that exam.. i will take a drop year, and i am sure that i will crack that time.. but my parents are forcing me to take b tech in cs.. and for that to take a drop year. but i have no interest in engineering and also i have very low confidence that i will crack the jee main.. And i said clearly that my goal is not to take b tech in cs.. But my parents are saying that b tech in cs is a very good course, and then you can do mba.. But i am not sure that, from a mediocre college, b tech in cs is worthy and i also tell my parents that thing but they again again tell me that b tech in cs from a mediocre college can give me a decent job.. They said that my decision is wrong..

Di I have a request to you. MBB companies always take students for consulting roles from placements of top b schools but if someone don't want to do MBA but want to enter in MBB (may be as analyst)
Then how will they get chance in off campus placement or what will be the best strategy of networking for it or how to approach the people of MBB firms to get a chance of interview?
How to build profile in that case ?
joining MBB after undergrad is possible only when u have a great pedigree. Like u study with IIT, SRCC, Lady SriRam or u are a Ph.D. with in a highly specialized topics that MBB needs. MBB is ruthless when hiring n they strictly look for high academic achievement from IVY League universities globally. even with an MBA and working with a big 4, I am not eligible to work in MBB because I don't have the pedigree they are looking for. don't waste your time after MBB go to other firms like Big4 or boutique consulting firms.
