This is the first Ultraboost since the first one, that actually is more catered for runners/athletes and not just casual wearers, finally!
The 19 and 20 were more catered to runners.
Huh? The 19 and 20 definitely were more catered to runners than the original
All ultraboosts are marketed as running shoes lol
@@popomalakas marketing is one thing but actual performance is another
@Rusty Shackleford yes and no, the traction was still too soft and didn't last very long especially for someone who runs a lot of miles
Adidas missed a massive opportunity to call the tech linear energy absorption propulsion or something and have the acronym be LEAP
No they really didn't
@@VBCVeryBigChannel would u rather have shoe tech called L.E.P. or L.E.A.P.
The 6% more boost compounds on the 20% so it ends up being 27.2% more boost 🤓 You still get a like
I’m in Data Analytics, and immediately said, “Nope” when he said that. I need to go outside more.
How? 20 +6 =26. Where is the extra 1.2 coming from. Lol. Or as that the point. They’ll just keep saying they’re adding more boost until it’s 100 percent boost? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@nickflint4641 1.20 x 1.06 = 1.272
@@nickflint4641 you threw your maths out the window
@@nickflint4641 B is 20% more than A, and C is 6% more than B. That means that C is 6% more of what was already 20% more than A. If A is 100, B is 120, and C is 127.2. Which makes C 27.2% more than A, not 26%.
Broski... Your sizing reviews has been so on point, that I'm willing to walk into any store and buy a size according to your recommendation; and that's without even trying it on! Given that everything is on lockdown, your reviews are even that much more valuable! Keep it coming!
This Chris guy....seriously the coolest. I just want to talk shoes with him all day.
how boring is ur life
@@bongwater7908 Not boring at all, Mr. Bong.
Hey Guys! New Year, New Boost! Let us know what you think of the adidas Ultra Boost 21. Thanks for watching!
watching now! thanks Chris and Mrs Wing!
Huge Fan of the UltraBoost shoe, Ive been hoping and praying that they would release the 007 UltraBoost but theyve been pushed back ..time and time again
What colorway is this? Promo/sample colorway/box?
@@miguel2947 is a creator's exclusive colorway, meaning you have to have an adidas account and you would have access to it
@@NotoriousVictorious yeah I found it but sold out it’s cool the triple white one is better anyway
I love this guys honest reactions and reviews. Key word is honest. Not lying just to make a sponsor happy. I rarely see men like this guy who is real and tells you the comfort not just what looks good. I bought some shoes off champs and they are so stiff. This mans reviews also let me know the feel and comfort of the shoe.
I'm going to wait until these go on sale and then pull the trigger. I love Ultra boost and have numerous pairs, but I'm done paying $180 for the most part
same bro. if you have an adidas outlet store near you they usually drop down to $130 there after a few months, and if you can wait until the black friday or Christmas sale they usually drop all the way to $90. I bought the all white 19s for like $80 and more recently got a dark navy parley edition of the 20s for $90. not sure i can wait quite that long for the 21 tho, i love the way these look
@@graham107 I love how aggressive they look. I'll wait till they are under retail or able to be coupon'd. The grey one they released this year is really clean for me. I just don't want to pay 198 after tax for one show unless I know there's no chance of it getting restocked like a collab or Chinese New year pair you know? Keeps things special although I know most of the community myself included hates that most of the time
Yeah $180 is way too expensive imo, but if I can get it in the $120 range I’d be happy
@@christiangroendyk7198 Agreed, with the way UB are trending atm, perhaps we won't have to wait long for that to happen. I'm cool with the hype being down if it means I can get it low. Patience saves Pockets!
They're sold out 😂
These finally *looks* like a proper running shoe which is the main thrust behind the OG Energy Boost. Hope they perform well hahahaha
Great intro guys!
True size for me. These shoes are perfect to do long training, 8,10,15, or 15 miles. I like to train on them because they are a bit heavier, but the boost triggers my steps. After running the soles of my feet do not hurt. For competitions, I wear ultra boost 19, 20, or my Saucony endorphin speed 1 or 2.
The new shape looks awesome, finally it has changed. Also the new spring plate tech looks quite swish. The new compound being less boost feeling is not actually a bad thing as it can be too fluffy.
Not first....
Not last....

I love the update with the 21’s. The prime knit breathes so much better than the 20s and the fit feels so much better. The only down side is the added weight. I hardly notice the lace cage. Yes, it takes longer for the boost to soften up but I prefer these over the 20s. Much more breathable and more cushion. You get used to the added weight. I am excited to see what they will come up with next.the styling is notably better too.
Sooo professional! Congrats! Out of the 20+ reviews I watched this is the only that pays detailed attention to the sizing and the "plastic" like rubber bumper infront that may affect the toes
Adidas definitely fit differently. I'm a 14 in Nike stuff and sometimes a 13 in Adidas.
I’ve been a runner for almost 20 years and when I was younger I used to wear more minimalistic shoes but as I got older and my joints started to wore out I started to use shoes with more support and comfort. I wear hoka shoes now for running, I think they are probably some of the ugliest looking shoes out there but they rejuvenated my legs and feet. Highly recommended.
Good video. I’m going to try these based on this video. I’m a big fan of Boost and this channel. Thanks for putting in work!!
Looks like Adidas here, like all the major running shoe companies have been doing now for the past 1+ year, are chasing Nike's landmark springy ZoomX / Pebax + stiff Carbon Fiber plate race shoes (mainly Vaporfly, Alphafly soon, etc.) that have been breaking marathon records for quite a bit now.
LOL everyone forgets the UB roots are in running, so this redesign UB 21 is just doing the current Nike Running formula: springier / stiffer new LEP Torsion plate for more energy return, more pop off the feet, like all the flagship carbon fiber plate runners (Nike Vaporfly Next%, Adizero Pro, etc), but a more redux in size version, ala the ASICS Metaracer minimal nylon plate; plus up the overall stack height, (increasing overall Boost) throughout the footbed, like the other competitor flagship carbon fiber runners, to further increase energy return and reduce impact / injury.
BRUHHH. The "THATS WHAT SHE SAID" Are perfect and time less👌🏾🔥🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Such a bummer they put back that plastic edge on the toe box. Was super irritating last time I walked in the 4.0s. Thanks for mentioning it.
Love my 19’s might have to bite on the 21’s thanks for the killer review as always!
It's been 4 months since I've watched a Weartesters video. Damn, it feels good to be back.
Chris just givin it to ya straight up and down like sixxo clock ! Feelin these UB’s cuz we still bout that Boost Life .. ✊🏼
Glad you’re discussing this. I might give these a try for running, but I really didn’t like running in the ultraboost20. My personal favorite runners are the Zoom Pegasus turbo 1/2.
Man when I got UB19s they were stiff compared to UB4.0. I hear Adidas is going to release UB5.0 this year. I mainly wear UB for a casual shoe. I think UB 19 through 21 looks for truly runners.
Im size 12 and never had a fitment problem when wearing the 19s and 20s true to size, i guess im lucky
Same
Same and I'm a true 10.5
They're true to size for me as well. Only problems I have are with Nikes as they run narrow and sometimes small. I usually have to go a ½ size up with them. All my other shoes, Adidas, Hokas and Asics are all true to size.
I'm the same at 11.5 but some adidas just feel too long for a lot of people.
They feel great for running and casual wear. And you don’t feel that huge boost, you feel the shoe goes with your natural motion to walk or run.
Weartesters uploaded? Today’s a good day.
How many shoetubers you know that go outside their niche and still find their opinion more relevant than others?
Weartesters only ✊🏽
They're just doing this for the mini Ultraboost bump (like so many other shoetubers). They won't review an Ultraboost sneaker again until next year. Did they review the UB 20 a year ago? The 19 two years ago?
@@predatorminutepodcast1570 Yes we reviewed both the 19 and 20. First impressions on RUclips with full performance reviews on the site. Chris always provides detailed looks at important casual shoes (like the Ultraboost) but we've also been producing running performance reviews with other team members for the last couple years. Check them out and let me know what you think.
The outsole reminds me of the USS Enterprise-E.
It looks like a computer mouse.
It takes time to break in the boost, it will soften with use
Got the cloud whites UB21 and have been a fan of the ultraboost since the beginning. I walked, jogged and sprinted in them. About 30km. Definitely a stiff ride. I find the UB 19 and 20 softer.
Just subbed recently, and I definitely don’t regret it
I have the first boost and haven't bought any since. They were really great. U got me interested in checking these out.
Passed on this color way and now kind of regret it after watching this vid. They actually look more better than I thought they would on feet. Awesome review!
The second early release color is way better in my opinion. I’m glad I skipped the creator colorway. I’m waiting on the triple black to come my way in a couple of days.
@@wonkydonkey7899 Nice! I'm waiting on the core black to get here. Triple black was my other choice, couldn't decide between the two lol. I'll probably pick that up later on
@@stevenmaddela I chose the triple black is to sort of camouflage the chunky boost at the heels. It gives that illusion everything is proportionally uniform.
@@wonkydonkey7899 That was also my initial reason to go with the the tripe black lol. I went with the white boost sole just to compare it with the Ultraboost 20. But I see what you mean, that chunky boost can look a little unappealing in white
I got them in this colorway with the early access and love them. I don't think I'll run in them anytime soon but man they are so comfy for everything else. Plus the colorway just matches with anything.
The upper feels more premium on this model too, more plush.... My feet love em.
I passed on the creator club limited access but copped an early access colorway for the tier 3 members. I didn’t like the all-white effect.
Really love the box and the display of tech specs, and the outsole looks awesome. Curious to see if the LEP helps counter balance that dense boost feeling.
These Boost midsole’s resembles the Yeezy 380
The less gummy feel means they are pleasing runners who don't like to run on gum, but the hard for box at the front is a no-no for runners. Asics has managed to offer a define tie box without a hard piece at the front.
only tried 2 boost products. the UB 19 and the NMD R1. boost on the NMD sucks but on the UB19, best ever cushion that I've experienced
How does the best channel on RUclips not have at least a million.
The more I see these the more I like em! Really dig tht outsole and torsion system 👌
Great way to start off a Friday with a new Wear Testers video!
I'm an Adidas fan and by experience, if the material is primeknit, I always go halfsize down...
Totaly agree with the less feeling of the boost, they say its 6% more, which i see is just on the sides for astatic looks & fluffiness back side 🤣, on the other hand i feel this is more stable for lateral movement and all over training than just straight casual runs
Man that new set up POPS with that light. WHEWWWWWW. Great stuff Chris. again - calling DIBS when the pandemic is over and i travel to the west coast - we doing crazy videos in the LAB - weartesters style - maybe with or without Bernie Sanders lol
Love your channel, one of the best sneakerheads on RUclips
Thanks for saving me $200. I was about to get these for the soft, comfy ride while running, but the fact that they're a bit on the firmer side won't do it for me. I loved how my 3.0 pair felt when I used them for running.
You can swap out the stock insoles with some better ones to aid more comfort. Adidas make UB21’s boost more firmer and dense to accommodate a stable running, which is what they intend to have their UB lineup geared towards performance rather than lifestyle.
Chris, they didn't recycle get the plastic from the ocean. They upcycled it from plastic that instead of going to the ocean, was used in the shoe. Not knocking on it, just wanted to clear that up 😁
Loving the lighting colour changes on the B-roll, gives the shoe a different effect. Also just realising that Chris be like a runway model now having a platform to stand on for the B-roll hahaha
I love these. They are not too soft. Shoes that are too soft feel like your walking on the ground after so long. These are all day wear and run! Definitely not too much boost for runners
I don’t remember the model but the outsole reminds me of some old Nike Pegasus (I think)
Huge Ultraboost 20 fan have like 11 diff color-ways. But the aesthetic on these is definitely worse and to hear it doesn’t have the cushy boost feeling make it an instant pass. Glad I got my 20s to keep wearing in the closet.
Great review Chris as always my guy..love that goat hoodie straight fire💥💥💥💣💥
taking out the insoles on the ultra boost makes them way more comfortable in my opinion
they actually have higher than 26% more boost than the OGs. the math is different from just adding the two %s together because that 6% boost (no pun intended) from the 20 to 21 is 6% larger than the midsole that was already 20% larger than the predecessor. 27.2% more boost i believe. first time i've wanted a new pair of ubs in a while these are dope
you guys are soooo lucky man I live in a 3rd world country and minimum wage is 250 dollar in here and this shoe is cost 180 dollars!!! Its my fav shoe ı hope one day ı will be able to buy a pair of these
I love your channel ! A real place for sneaker addict !
I hope it's wide foot friendly. The 20s made me switch to Adidas from Epic Reacts. Was nice to wear a 13 in the 20s instead of size 14 on epics. I also hope my discount codes work for the 21s lol
Shoes come in tomorrow! Most excited I've been for a boost shoes since the 19's.
I run fairly often and found the boost to be a little soft on rocks and trails with the 20. I’ve ordered the 21 hopefully it’s a bit better.
Gotta love your honest reviews 😄
I am curious if the extra boost will soften and break in to be more squishy if it does that might be perfect for me I stand for 10 hours in a factory wearing whatever sneaker of the day my favorite cushioning tech is Nike zoom don't know why just feels nice
I hope new 21's won't feel like Pulse Boost HD with that 6% extra boost.
New LEP's, Conti outsole and rocker profile does make the shoe is designed more for runners.
Maybe more of a recovery shoe with the added weight.
i swear i love the fact that new ultraboost always come out around my bday
Just got myself a pair off these today they brilliant love them so much 👍 🙂🏃♂️🏃♂️
Just found out that these exist and was quite pleased to find this video.
I got the all redsss and I’m not disappointed guysss!!!
The thing is your foot sits deeper in the shoe then you would think.
So you not going to feel the extra boost 😕
OMG THIS INTRO. I love it! I;m curious about these as well. I almost order off Adidas this same pair but I don't want to waste the money on a white pair myself just because I have to many white ultra boost as it is lol. Great review as always :D
I’m leaning toward the triple black colorway.
will there be a video on the react infinity 2? i bought 1 after reading your article, i've been eyeing the first one after all
I just bought them ! They are very heavy and the prime nit annoys me around the ankles I also hate the silicon cover on the front of the shoe which makes front toe feel strange and also don’t think that they are a runners shoe ..
It’s still a fashion shoe and that is not a bad thing and I believe that they are more comfortable around the sole but the rest of the shoe is generally worsts that the previous in terms of comfort.they look nice though
I don't know if it's changes in the boost, the design, other more comfortable foams out there, or that my feet are USED TO boost now... but I haven't felt like boost had that magic for a few years now.
I just bought them. They’re run an little TOO snug. I’m hoping they expand after use.
Take out insole
@@donnynguyen949 it’s glued on to the shoe.
Rule of thumb: more boost =/= more comfort, if anything the opposite. It’s just making the boost pellets more tightly packed meaning it’s denser and more firm.
I agree adidas has overdone it this time and got it the opposite in comfort. I hope the more wear will break it in to be more softer over the long haul.
@@wonkydonkey7899 hopefully but unlikely. Boost pellets are plastic, not foam so if it does end up softening it means the structure is probably degrading and it’ll bottom out soon
@@kalvin. I agree. I suspect adidas makes it firmer this way to stabilize the run as opposed to the bouncy, cushy feeling we enjoy as a lifestyle shoe. Maybe that’s what adidas has intended to do so people can treat it like a trainer.
@@wonkydonkey7899 that’s the correct assumption. But it’s just misleading to market it like it’ll be super soft and cushy like a React shoe from Nike or a Hoka runner. Reminds me of the disappointment of the cushion in the Curry 7 where they touted having both Micro G and Hovr foam
Be waiting for Mrs.Wing's review on this..
I've only ever copped UBs for walking, and they are unbeatable there. Are these actually valid as athletic and running shoes now?
I’m not a shoe engineer, but my personal theory is that the comfort of boost doesn’t have as much to do with how much there is, rather how it is shaped.
Recently just started light jogging I currently use Night Joggers and these look super clean and maybe the LEP can be better than Torsion. Im 6'4 275 so these are giving a high interest for me..THANKS WT
Great video like always Happy Friday
For me it's
Running: Hokka One One
Casual: Ultra Boost OG
Always awesome videos
Well I heard everything I needed to hear in the first 2 min. I was gonna buy but thank you Weartesters for changing my mind and saving me money. Not gonna buy a UB to not feel the boost smh.
It's bizarre. It looks so squishy and thic
Mike Hurt beat me to the punch, but yeah, 6% more boost than something which had a 20% improvement is not a 26% increase lol. It's more. Still love your vids.
That intro was hilarious 😂
Hi Chris, is the boost worst (less bounce/cloud feeling) than previous model(20)?...I don't mind if it is the same and will purchase it but if it worst, will prob go with Nike Infinity react 2. Thanks.
I 1. Come for the shoes and 2. Come for any The Office clips too 😂
I believe it doesn't feel as boost because under the insole it's no longer a fish net design it's a full length mesh concoction
Tried it last weekend. Boost is so much harder than previous ultraboost and the primeknit is not stretchy or at least not as stretchy as previous models. The "new" boost felt like adidas bounce or nike cushlon. Havent tried to run in it yet so i dunno how it will perform. Im still on the fence whether to pull the trigger on these or not considering there a lot of better and cheaper options out there right now
Boost is life
These look so much better than the 19 and 20
I don't know man I have this model and it feels romantic on my foot. I have many 1.0s as well. I think the 1.0 might be slightly squishier but the 21 feels more supported and fun to walk in.
I found this kinda of weird too since these UB21s have way more boost than the original series but the UB21s feel nothing close to them. The Boost feels very dense. I guess I'm going to stick with original series forever lol
These must have some kinda vision deflection power because every time I look at them my eyes immediately want to look at something else.
It is actually better to have footwear that your toes can splay in. Since it is the natural for our feet to do that.
I love the ultraboost to walk in. Especially on after a hard workout.
yeah i agree with the lack of comfort on these ones
These actually looks nice and it's a comment coming from a person who has the majority of his shoes Jordans and Nike
I was hoping ya'll would do a review on these!
Only thing I hate about the last couple ultra boosts including this model is the tongue, that thin sock like tongue I’m not here for. It’s probably more for runners but i just wear them casually 🤷♂️
If it's stiffer it's definitely better to run in now. If it's squishy it's not a running shoe.
