"Not saying that he is going to step in a be a top 10 QB." He finished 9th in Adj. EPA/Dropback and 10th in Success Rate. In 2021, he was top 10 in nearly every QB stat/metric before getting injured, including TD/Passer Rating/EPA/QBR/3rd down pass conversion/red zone conversion rate/TDs under pressure/play-action passing and this is with one of the worse WR groups I've seen as a fan of the Saints. When you actually peel back the layers on Winston, look at tape, look at the offense that he ran throughout his entire career in the NFL, the situation of the Bucs, etc, there is a lot of nuance. Truth be told, when you all get into your offseason, they go full 11-11 with pads, and the preseason, you will probably hear and see some interesting things. If he was a free agent after 2018 instead of spending that single season in Arians offense, he would be starting now. All people honestly know of Winston is 2019....
And I ask this question a lot about the 2019 season, how many games did Winston cost the Bucs with the 30 interceptions??? You'll be surprised that 2 mainstream media personalities actually said it, but was told not to say it again because it would go against the narrative that ESPN (The Jameis Winston hating network) was trying to push... So let me see a few responses, and I drop the true number of game that he cost the Bucs in 2019... Oh and the played the Titans that year to, and Winston was credited with 4 turnover, and the funny about that is, he wasn't responsible for not even 1 of them...
@@faceme3000 If we are being honest? 3 games. 49ers, Panthers, and Texans. -Titans - Those interceptions were because of the WRs reading the play wrong, but even still, they called back the special teams TD -2nd games vs Saints - The game was already over when Jameis threw costly picks. The first pick was the TE behind the back INT and the 2nd was a end of half hail mary. The last 2 were desperation with the game already over -Falcons game - Matt Gay makes 1 FG and the game never goes into overtime. Defense and special teams lost more games than interceptions.
It was definitely 2 games, and the reason can't go with the Texans because he was playing with all new receivers in that game, and he actually made all the correct reads, but the QB and WR connection was off just a hair... And it's hard to put the 49ers game on he to, the RB sucked in that game, and Chris Godwin ran a wrong timing route that caused a pick 6... I'll say he cost the team 2 wins Carolina and the Saints at New Orleans...
@@faceme3000 Oh, I get the context behind some of those games. I've made mention of the Texans situation on another video. Most people don't understand the complexity of Arians offense, so they didn't know the impact of having Perriman as WR1 those last 2 games but objectively speaking, the Panthers and Texans game was probably his worst of the season. The 49ers game can go either way, but the 1st 2 interceptions weren't his fault. 2nd game vs Us, I'm also split on it, as the Bucs were down 3 scores in the blink of an eye. I always tell people that they love bringing up 30 interceptions but those interceptions didn't really have as much to do with the team losing as the casual fan thinks. Baker got that big contract and the Bucs lost more games due to offense than the 2019 team. Matter fact, the 2019 Bucs against the 2023 opponents probably win 12-13 games, easy.
If Watson gets hurt I think he can step in get a good feel of pre snap and be confident where to go with the football and push it where it needs to be to keep things moving. I think it's rare you get consistent starter level production from backups since we struggle to get 32 true starters so having a built team and a vet back there who can /could keep it moving if called upon is a huge asset.
@@MetricScout we seen it with Flacco last season putting up top 5 numbers as a pure passer, I'm grabbing Winston as much as I can as a superflex dynasty stash
He did. He went 6-2 before breaking his back the first game of the season 2022 and was top 10 in most QB stats and metrics as the offense was being installed during the season in 2021. Those bad breaks derailed him.
Calling him a backup really sounds crazy a 5109 yrd passer. That's how you know this game is fake. The guy put up almost 1500 yrd more the Watsons in 2019 and only played 1 more game wtf listening to everyone say backup or he's not gonna be a top 5 the guy was number a 1 with 30 picks and all the so called top QB in this league was ynder him well ahead of Watsons Browns better off with Winston in reality. gave Watsons all that money for nothing. Winton most definitely is the superior QB
I am a Bucs fan and Winston is a better QB than his stats say. The Bucs had far more issues during his years with us.
People who followed NO football know Winston wasn't starting because of Politics not play...

Because j
Winston should be starter
"I AM THE C.L.I.P. COMMANDER!" - this should be the slogan, from Jay and Silent Bob movie 😂
Cleveland better have a lot of fresh crab legs.
Them dirty Lake Erie crabs
Has Winston even started a game since his Lasik eye surgery? As a Browns fan I prefer him over Deshaun

I'd rather have huntley run into team than him huntley then play well
Huntley is not that good for real. Winston is way better than Huntley
