Fun fact. This song was originally a scratch track that was going to have vocals on it designed for Elena. But then things happened and we wrote Remember Forever with Jack Wall and Tori Letzler instead. It got included as an egg song much later on for fun---not to replace any Kevin track, but more of a farewell to the old story. I always liked this piece and felt it had a place, even if it was never fully completed to its original design.
While it may be sad that we didn’t hear from Kevin Sherwood and others, or that some songs didn’t meet some fans’ standards, I feel that this song is the perfect way to end Cold War Zombies. With everything that happened throughout the story, this rendition of Samantha’s theme was definitely called for.
I'm disappointed that Mauer didn't get a proper EE Song made by Kevin, though I don't know which of the three main vocalists that normally sing the EE songs would've fit for Mauer.
It's Activision's fault why we didn't get any more Kevin Sherwood songs on Twitter and he said he didn't have enough time to write any music and I feel like that's because Activision didn't give him enough time

I feel like they didn’t put their eggs into vanguard because it would be impossible to provide the good stuff in a rushed development like that game. I feel like that’s why they made it a prequel instead and made it a bunch of nonsense and behind the scenes are just focused on their story for the next game
@DaveMac95 I also feel like this is a small reason cod has gone away from the yearly release, with Treyarch having to pick up the ball for sledgehammer on short notice THEN had to turn around and work on Vanguard, they would have pushed them way too hard at that point. Edit: it would also had been Treyarch's turn in the cycle after WM2 so I'm sure they were really powering through and probably felt some relief knowing they get an extra year
I hope Gulf War is something truly special cause the last time they even had a little bit of time to make maps was bo3 😢. Everything since then has been rushed or outsourced to other studios
I miss waking up early for zombies dlc and finding the 3 teddy bears around the map to hear a metal song. Then downing myself to hear the preview to the next song in the next map...
I especially began to start doing this in BOCW, man it was fucking good. I think Mauer was the most excited I've ever been for a map, Forsaken coming in close second.
This song is a culmination of all the major events that has happened to her and hearing it all in one makes you wonder if we will ever hear from her again or if she will be left for dead or corrupted by the forsaken since he is trapped with her

I love this. I just wish it ended with the notes from the ending of Samantha's Peace. It would've been symbolic and extremely bittersweet to hear the final piano keys we heard in Aether as we witness Samantha's story come to an end.

After 13 years of Treyarch Zombies, I feel conflicted. On the one hand I want to cry and sulk because all of it is gone; Primus, Ultimus, Tranzit, all of it gone for good. But on the other I’m happy that I got to ride along with the games and story and see everything happening and wondering “what will happen next?” I feel like Treyarch did the right thing pulling the plug and letting the story come to an end. I also like how Cold War starts anew and shows us that too. Cold War feels like the end of the old element 115 story arc and the start of the new Dark Aether story with new characters, new enemies, and another generation to be raised with it. And in relation to the song, It fits what I just talked about. It takes all of Samantha’s songs from all of the Treyarch games and uses it to create the ending of the 115 storyline.
I get this feeling from this song... I feel nostalgic for no reason, as the only ever Samantha's Lullaby I heard in-game was the hidden one in Mob of The Dead...

This song sounds like it has a lot of BO2 aspects integrated into it, that's mostly my favorite part about this song, and hey, maybe it's a hint of what's to come, who knows?
it's a blend of a lot of Aether, since that's what Maxis represents - she's the last light of the Aether storyline. There's also the choir from the original, but also what appears to be some of the choir from The Giant's rendition of Beauty of Annihilation. I personally think it's great.
I would love to see a parallel. So the brand new story we have of course, though the continuation of remnants. As the story progresses, I would love to see us come closer and closer to primis and then eventually get to see our original heroes fight alongside this new team we have developed. So that the two stories can have a special place in history by fighting alongside each other.
Do you know why am i sad? Because this is a reboot , but deeply is very connected with aether's story. I'm sad because i see the sam's sacrifice as a "goodbye" to we. The ones that had seen sammy's grown and we, the ones that have carried her trough all her voyage, until the primis and ultimis end.

But if she supposedly said this with all the other games she might come back
