A new version for Chiaki has dropped after more than 2 years! You can find it over here: git.sr.ht/~thestr4ng3r/chiaki/refs/v2.2.0 Apparently this has solved a lot of screen tearing and audio issues for a lot of people so make sure to check it out (link in description also updated). The installation procedure remains the same but I do recommend to do a fresh install (meaning removing the old 2.1.1 version)
@@dirkbrune8196 Haven’t had this issue so far with any apps. Is this an exe file that you are trying to run? Maybe you are not using the windows version of chiaki
@@Jim_100 It seems they have some issue with the site. It doesn’t load for me either. You can google for another one but this was the git link which I recommend using over others
the ps button and Touchpad is not working for me in the way you explained it, do you have anther option to configure those buttons? I cant find any solution in google :(
Just tried it myself and it worked for me. Make sure to click the command center button on your ally and change the "gamepad" option to control mode (if you have it on auto like I had.
I had this kind of issues when using a different Chiaki app. With the one I provided in the description it work way better. I do get stutters from time to time but it's because of network connectivity issues
Question: How do you use the touch area of the Dual Sense. I'm not talking about the touch pad button but the swipes that some games need (like Astrobot). The ASUS ROG ALLY has a touch screen but I cannot get the swipes to work. And no, it is not the top middle of the the screen. That seems to only be the case on Steamdeck.
Unfortunately last time I checked this, you weren’t able to map the swipe gestures. Astrobot was the game where I tested this out as well. I’ll see if there is a more recent update as I haven’t used it in a while
@@TheTechUnravel Yeah. That was my experience, too. Chiaki is incredibly capable and there aren't much games challenging the swipe gestures. So for all that are reading and are thinking of Chiaki as a possible choice for streaming. It is good!
That’s odd. I haven’t tried remapping recently but I know for sure I’ve done it in the past. Maybe try to reinstall Chiaki all together but take note to store your id somewhere first so you don’t have to redo all the steps
I wonder if you could set up a vpn on your router and then remote into your home network from anywhere and have the device think you are local to your network. as long as upload an downlead and latency are in order, it should work.
Everytime I try and download chaiki on my ally it says that you need to download an app from the store to open it ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling chaiki but it keeps happening?
Have you downloaded from the link in the description? Make sure you are using the Windows version and not MacOS or something else. I assume that's why it asks for an app
@@TheTechUnravel hey thanks for your help I managed to fix it apparently the zipped file was restricted due to safety reasons so I had to go into properties and enable the file
@@deadvampire12345 Don’t know what exactly you are getting but it should not be ddl only. Try with this one git.sr.ht/~thestr4ng3r/chiaki/refs/download/v2.1.1/Chiaki-v2.1.1-Windows-x86_64.zip
It’s definitely not there if you want to play competitive. That’s why I’m hoping that Sony’s Project Q is not just a remote play device and even if it is streaming, there will be no lag. Wishful thinking
Even using Sony remote play there's lag.. playing using WiFi causes a bit more of lag directly from the console, imagine remotely and wireless.. it's great for singleplayer games, but for competitive against people playing directly on their consoles or overclocked PCs you are gonna look like a bot even if you aren't 😂
Can I travel and play my PS5 games or do I have to stay on my own WIFI and within range? I figure within range considered it's remote play, but I've never really use that feature much.
By default Chiaki doesn't allow you to do this in a different network. There are ways on how to do it but you need to do some extra configurations. Official Remote Play app does allow you to do this with no issues but you can't use the Ally's controls unfortunately

for some reason the link doesn't load and it's not an internet problem because everything else works fine

Really helpful video. I ended up just switching to desktop mode and B is my esc button so I didn’t need to change anything. Gave me that idea. Thanks!
Glad this helped you out

Sorry, I haven’t looked for another option as this worked on the spot for me and so many others
@@TheTechUnravel thank you for your help anyway! 🙌
Did you find away to add ps button & trackpad?
I’m having the same issue. I wonder if they patched something that no longer allows you to map it
Just tried it myself and it worked for me. Make sure to click the command center button on your ally and change the "gamepad" option to control mode (if you have it on auto like I had.
The gameplay is smooth for me but there is sound issue. There is lot ot static hissing in the sound and it is not playable.
If I use remote play, the sound has no problems. But, the ally's controller dosent work abviously.

Delete the file audio/qtaudio_windows. dll in the chiaki installion path. Crackling gone. Set also Audio Buffer to approx 4800.
I didn't find the audio so I changed the buffer to 19200 run on 15W no lag or audio problem

How to close a game or get back to homes screen?
The easiest way I've been doing this is to add "show desktop" as a shortcut on the command center
I wonder if you could set up a vpn on your router and then remote into your home network from anywhere and have the device think you are local to your network. as long as upload an downlead and latency are in order, it should work.
That could actually work. I’ll try to test this out at some point
Did you ever have issues setting the back buttons mine were not working when i mapped them?
Can't say I have. As you can see in the video, I did this while filming and it worked for me
How do you add touchpad gesture shorcut .?
Some gestures work using the touchscreen but not everything unfortunately
Still don't know that I'm doing wrong. I can't seem to make the touchpad work for some reason. The ps button works just fine, though.
That's strange. Especially if other mapings are working
I see you also have the mic unavailable. Any way to use a mic wiith this program?
I haven’t tried this tbh but I’ll see if I can figure it out
Where is the link to install the software

Hi, how long the battery last for remote play only?
I haven’t done a full test but I can say that’s better than regular games. Being cloud gaming, the battery doesn’t need that much power
You can set remote play to custom TDP of 7 watt. Total system draw comes in just under 10 watt. That would suggest around 4 hours on remote play.
It keeps failing when I register and link device.
Is the account id the correct one? Have you generated the code specific to your id?
When I put my username says username not found any help with tha
Do you mean in Chiaki or when you are trying to generate your hex code?

My Playstation does not come up at all, please help
You need to be on the same network. If you are using wifi, make sure you are using the same SSID
Registration fails every time. Can’t figure it out
Are you sure you are generating the proper PSN account?
Yes, it fails on both ends. On the ally, it says registration failed. And then on the PS5 an error pops up
I'll do this, I just tried today with my PS4 pro, but I could go back in the doom menu so I couldn't play...
You mean to go back to the menu? As you are missing buttons? There are a few extra mappings to do that I showed in the video as well
This is an awesome video!
Appreciate it! Thank you so much
