    I think the Holy Guardians and Keepers of knowledge are the most dangerous fallen empires because they are the most likely to start a war in heaven when one of them awakens.

      This is untrue, xenophile, xenophobe is just as likely and even then the ethics do not have to be opposed for a War in Heaven, it just makes it more likely.

      Thematically speaking I think the Keepers of Knowledge are the most dangerous as I feel if you give them the time and leeway they will 100% just re-enact the cosmogenesis crisis path, whereas the almost as (thematically) dangerous Xenophobe isolationists kind of just want their egos stroked

    Ironically, I've always thought the xenophobes are one of the weakest, least dangerous fallen empires. Pre-awakening they will never act aggressively unless directly provoked. Further, they do not interact with the galaxy at all. All of the other fallen empires have conditions where they will declare war unilaterally, and/or can direct other lesser races to start a war on their behalf. The xenophobes never do. They're also by far the easiest FE to defeat because their ship designs are so easily hard countered.

    There's actually an additional result from the Shallash dig site. If your a gestalt machine empire, you get the outcome where the Shallarians developed a powerful AI fleet to enforce total peace, and it turned on them. You also have a 20% chance to get this option as a normal empire or if you destroy the Xenophobes before finishing the dig site.
    Perhaps this AI that they developed to enforce total peace was Cetana, and their homeworld was where Cetana was originally based. And the Xenophobes destroyed Shallash, not because they hated the Pacifists (or not only), but because they created the crisis that was Cetana.

  • @TheMrSeagull
    @TheMrSeagull 2 месяца назад +7

    I seem to recall Cetana saying the ones who imprisoned her used nanites, something she eventually took control over. I figured the ones who did it were the Gate Builders (L-Cluster). I get the feeling that multiple fallen empires were involved with the war against her, and it was the fanatic spiritualists who spearheaded the assault with help from the Animator of Clay. Maybe she goes after the Militant Isolationists because they are the biggest threat? Or maybe they know something of her that she didn't want to get out.

    • @TheRedKing
      @TheRedKing  2 месяца назад +1

      I don't believe she says she was imprisioned using nanites. Zarl asked the animinator to help imprision her and used psionic powers to do so

      @jakespacepiratee3740 2 месяца назад +2

      I think it’s very likely that the Xenophobic Isolationists were Cetanas Imprisoners, as I always thought that their paranoia about any younger empire breaching by their ‘buffer zone’ as that could potentially let Cetana break free somehow.

    I would say that the machine intelligence fallen empire is the most dangerous in a very specific circumstance: If the contingency show up, and you roll corrupted programming.
    A rampaging xenocidal fallen/awakened empire is bad enough, but having to deal with it while also dealing with the contingency at the same time forces you to split your resources at a time you really don't want to be stretched thin.

    I'm kinda surprised no fallen empire ever established contact with the rest of their civ that went through a black hole to create their own universe. You would've thought if a connection would be made that the old guard would send a cry for help and if those that went through would try to use a new space needle to get back to help their brother en or at least try to evac them through the black hole to safety.

    • @diegotrejos5780
      @diegotrejos5780 2 месяца назад +7

      That's because the universes thing didn't exist when fallen empires were introduced, they were fallen because the hedonist pops forgot how to make more of their own tech and their non sapient slaves were... non sapient. The Spiritualist ones instead fell due to adherence to doctrine stifling new learning.

    • @theDemolisher13

      @@theDemolisher13 Did the recent DLC changed some lore or something? Because both in-game lore and dev diaries have already stated that those who chose Cosmogenesis are the first to do so. Devs also said the we "might" be the first but personally, I think that just refers to all the players in different galaxies choosing that path. Nevertheless, the Fallen Empires we meet never tried going that route and progressed their technology during the passage of time before going decrepit.

    • @nomorechess
      @nomorechess 2 месяца назад +1

      @@theDemolisher13 Them being awakened is also attributed to the fact that before being awakened, they attempted to re-learn or reverse engineer their technology. I feel like this one has the weakest explanation on how they somehow got the know-how to build advanced ships and infrastructure. But if I were to give a reason, they probably were already trying to accumulate knowledge before being awakened or got lucky to stumble upon the instructions to create them.

    I always take these dickheads out when I play to get revenge for the pacifist empire that had the equidistant moons that you detailed in your earlier video. My current game led to me getting a forced peace with them after I started annihilating their fleets and invading their planets. They wound up having one of their smaller backwater planets left as their only system. I let them keep it as the game went on. When the war in heaven event triggered, they were one of the empires that went to war and the other FE promptly demolished the military xenophobic isolationists along with 2 devouring swarm empires.
    This actually pissed me off because I wanted the xenophobes to rot on their backwater planet.
    Their legendary commander is one of the best if not the best in the game and his fleet puts all of my other fleets to shame in terms of fleet power.

    Shouldn't a star system that has not "Sol" as its star be called a "Star System" or "Stellar System" instead of "Solar System"? I'm pretty sure there can be only one Solar System in the universe.

    • @pavelkolmakov8278
      @pavelkolmakov8278 2 месяца назад +1

      Logically, it should and it were some years ago in sci-fi. However, it seems like "solar system" (starting with lowercase) became standard nowadays along with "planetary system", just like "moon" is synonymous to "natural satellite".
      "Stellar system" seems to be used to describe group of _stars_. I am not an astronomer so don't know for sure, but I would guess they started using "stellar system" for that long before exoplanets were discovered, so the term was sort of taken by the time scientists started to discuss other stars' planets more than hypothetically.

I go for numbers, every time, calmly amassing fleets, and metaphorically nuking them with one barrage from two hundred battleships.
    If I'm authoritarian or xenophobic, they end up as domestic servants, while their slaves are freed. Just to spite them.

    I felt good when I bombarded their planets until nothing was left as Virtual Fallen Empire, having 3 times their fleet power, then just shut down the colony, letting their once prosperous homes float empty in the galaxy.

    Holy Guardians I feel like are the most antagonistic to the player if the player isn't a spiritualist. Just having robots in your empire is enough to really annoy them. Xenophobes you just can't build next to their space. But these two being the most aggressive of the FEs, are the easiest to take out so it balances out.
