So if you were to take it on Monday and work out, gain the benefits, and then test that Friday, you would test clean. Now if Ryan overcalculated and even ingested too much of the drug a week prior to the fight, then oops! The urine pre-test on the day of the fight needs to be sent to the lab without results coming back for several days. There is no way they would have known he was dirty on the night of the fight. Again, if his "B" test comes back positive, he is guilty.
This whole thing is so dumb. The reason for testing regarding steroids is supposedly to protect the health and safety of the fighters (steroids are especially dangerous for contact sports). If Ryan was popped for steroids he shouldn’t have been allowed to fight. Either these allegations are lies or the boxing organization responsible for this fight were negligent in their duties and should be sued for wrongdoing. Whichever way this is it’s bad all the way around. Of course I have a suspicion many athletes are on steroids and they just pick and choose who to pop. Just like baseball or cycling. Armstrong the best cyclist in the world was doing steroids but then so was everyone else. I wouldn’t be surprised if boxing was any different.
