Love the "I, Robot" display there on the right! I have read boatloads of Science Fiction (but not as much as you and others have) and this collection by the great Asimov is still one of my favorites. Warm greetings from your neighbor on the other side of Lake Erie.
Just downloaded Generation Ship, love those long journey space stories. The Freeze Frame Revolution by Peter Watts seems like it may be similar. Thanks for the video!
Really appreciate that you give us bits of popular and speaking on authors that dont get much buzz. There aee so many stories. I taged both Guild of Toikens and it sequal so hopefully our library will be getting copies . I know you speak on mostly new book series. Have you read any of the Kim Harrison The Hollows series sometimes these massive series are overwhelming and as much as i enjoy the concept sometimes there are books that feel like filler or as if the story has ended and then there is another book . I think being from ohio and original urban fantasty and poisonous tomato bring out revealing that paranormal is just fun idea. I haven't read the lastest books nc I am on thriller kicks but I have American Demon on my TBR. Il have to check you back catalog if you discussed Broken World series obviously had been spoken about its one of my favorite The 5the Season i found is much more enjoyable as re reread after finish the series. The dialogue and knowing what is happening made it a richer experience and not being so caught up in the shock of devistation that seems to be happenings ever other page. Lol
I love these type of review videos where I can hear all about new scifi/fantasy books. Thank you. I think you always find some really good, underhyped books.
I liked Generation Ship too, and would like to add that it's a very good depiction of small town politics. Not that the issues involved are small, but that the size of the population means that almost all political disputes become personal to those involved.
Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield: Man I really enjoyed this story. Thank you for recommending it. I Robot: I'm guessing you and Michael were "on the phone". I am in love with Viv and if the broken binding ever decides to send my ultra super special edition...I'll start it. Great content. 👾
Generation Ship is probably the one I want to read most from the ones you mentioned. I also want to try Contarian and that entire series. I’m sure I will read the new Murderbot and Blade of Dream at some point. 🚀🐉
I really enjoyed Jasad Heir, had a lot of fun tropes. It wasn’t great, but what it really managed to do was make me excited for the future of the series. The world was really interesting. I thought the romance was handled well. I wish we’d seen more from the main characters friends, but I still liked them.
Love your reviews! I was wondering and maybe it’s totally out of your wheelhouse, but are there fantasy/dark fantasy/sci-fi novels you’ve read that are more easily “shootable” for Indies filmmakers than others? (No need for expensive custom made costumes/architecture/spaceships etc.). I’m not ready to shoot right and won’t be for a couple of months, but I’m definitely on the look out for books with a good 10 pages that could be shot on a shoestring budget but sadly I can’t afford to buy a ton books. Videos for a list like this a couple of time per year would be helpful for a lot of filmmakers.
Thanks for the Guild of Magic shoutout!!

Guild of Tokens and Guild of Magic sound like such fun reads. I'll be on the lookout for them.
I hope you enjoy them if you get a chance to read them
Jon Auerbach is a real genius!

I admire your moxy for reading just the third book in a series.
Haha yeah that might actually be a first
I picked up Generation Ship after watching the review on Secret Sauce of Storycraft. Happy to hear you like it too. Bodes well!
She has fantastic tastes
I'd like you to do a video on books that are in the Goodreads list for horror that you haven't read.
If you like the Mystery/Sci-Fi blend then definatly convert Great North Road from Solo-Not-Now to Read!
Haha I really should get back to it. I read the first pages in a Slumpy mood

That's very similar to have I feel
I agree that the latest Murder Bot is not the best. However I am always happy to spend time with them. Look forward to their off planet adventures

Hmm not sure I could say which ones would be shootable
new fantasy book i got today, The Citadel by KM Ashman, unfortunately still reading They Thirst by Robert R McCammon
I'll have to look that one up
A 2023 release that I think you could love would be A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon 🚀🚀
Oh yes I loved the original book
Hello there hey

I want to read the murderbot stories, but I'm not paying $15 for a novella
Yeah that's fair. Hopefully your library has them. Otherwise I'd use a subscription like Scribd which has most of the novellas
