This is so amazing ❤️ for someone to take their time to capture what airplanes can do in seconds.. thank you for the person that is behind the recording. 🙏 as humans we love to watch airplanes ✈️ take off!!
I am amazed at the amount of planes taking off and landing, in what seems like only a matter of seconds apart. Fascinating stuff!. Thanx for wonderful footage.
My dad also took me to the airport, Philadelphia International. In the fifties we were able to stand on the roof of the building to watch the planes. It was great
My brother and I used to do the same thing until security after 9/11. We’d drive to the rooftop at Philly International and watch planes take off and land. Such a thrill!!!!!!! Another great place is Gravelly Point on the Potomac at Reagan International in DC. You could almost reach up and touch the planes as they landed or took off over your head!
On a few occasions when the observation deck was public and accessible, I would take my 'dates' there to enjoy the open air visuals. Sure was enjoyable.
@@dimidomo7946 That would have been the perfect date. I’ve been in Calif. my whole life but around age 4 we were in Pittsburgh, PA and yes Dad took us out on the observation deck. The memory has always stuck. 👍🏻
I looked up stats on O’Hare. Planes take off every 30 to 40 seconds from this airport. 8 runways and I think it said it’s the 2nd or 3rd busiest airport in the world. I’m afraid if flying but love watching this! We live north of O’Hare and close to Rockford. We get a lot of air traffic over our house. Nothing loud though 😀! Interesting way to travel for sure!
Have flown alot and love it, especially the international flights. The most exciting thing for me is when we're racing down the runway and the feel as the plane leaves the ground. Gives me goosebumps!
I am always and still amazed to watch these beast takeoff lotta metal being lifted up, my brother-in-law is a retired United pilot he pulled up the big guys, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing this!! Awesome spot to sit! I love to watch the takeoffs and the landings! Busy, busy airport! One day maybe I’ll get to fly! Hope everyone has a wonderful day!! Stay warm going to get cold starting tonight!
Love O'Hare. One plane is barely off the runway and another is pulling into position to take its place. Eight runways when OMP is complete. Impressive piece of engineering and coordination there.
I was in the building eating lunch when the video started and I heard the bell... I looked outside because I thought it was my locomotive's bell ringing... Trippy
I work at Den airport for the Arlines On the ramp i also worked a security job for a few years I would drive the interior fence road sit exactly in line with the runway and feel the rush of takeoff and landings woo hoo I took co worker out a few times scared the heck out of her she was afraid the plane would drop like a brick on top of us 😂 thanks for sharing your video aviation enthusiast ...
My mother’s brother lived in Irving. We would go visit during the summer. One of the nights we would go to a little park by Love Field and do the same. Watch planes take off and land. Early 70’s
That's right. We would hang out at Bachman Lake park either under one of the runways or in the middle of the park to see both 13L and 13R arrivals. Lived in Dallas at the introduction of the 747 and saw the Braniff big orange 747 that they flew from DAL to HNL. Also saw the birth of SWA with three 737s (Jurassic versions)
I am 45. My airplane memories are from the late 70s and 80s. I used to identify a Boeing 707 with its sound first and then I used to run to the window to watch it fly higher and higher. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. Greetings from Mumbai, India.
Was watching a shot of a plane rolling by with a bird perched in the foreground. If that bird could talk he might well say "Well congratulations to you geniuses for learning how to fly, but after all the money, effort, and decades of experience...you STILL can't land and balance on a telephone line or get a good night's sleep sitting one legged on a tree branch."😄
My father worked for the FAA so I have many times been to the Miami International airport to watch planes and had a wonderful time. When I was 11 my father got sick and was put in the hospital. He was going to need heart surgery. Now this was the 70's , so my uncle came down to help my mom take care of me and dad. Well, the neighbor took me to the airport so I could point him out. She had never met any of our extended family. Back then you could walk to the gate and wait for them to get off the plane. Well, I saw him and shouted real loud "hi Jack!!" All of a sudden we were surrounded by police with weapons drawn. Never again ell that in an airport the officer said after they padded my uncle down. I didn't understand why for a few more years and learned about all the plains being hijacked. Lol. Great memory.
I could sit & watch this with a headset on just listening to the radio chatter & be as happy as a church mouse, but why no landings on this runway, or I didn't watch long enough. Watch it all later! I love it. Keep em coming
Runway 22L is being used for departures, but sometimes when the wind is blowing from the south-west they do landings as well. Check out this livestream I did earlier ruclips.net/video/DzIAlLZoDPg/видео.html at the 15 minute 20 second mark!

A Boeing 747 uses 7840kg of aviation fuel for the take-off, climb and descent portions of the fligh.t For journeys longer than that, the plane will use 10.1kg for each additional kilometre under typical cruising conditions. So to fly from Heathrow to Edinburgh (530km) uses 10,668kg of fuel, which releases a little over 33 tonnes of CO2.
O'Hare airport is the biggest airport in the world, has 8 runways. 4 to the south of the airport and 4 to the north and the busiest airport in the world too.
Back in the day ( the 50's ) there was a good spot where we could watch planes arrive and depart from the Philly Airport, that's not possible any longer. Miss those carefree childhood memories 😢
Yeah it's not easy to find good, safe spots around US airports these days. I wish they would build dedicated viewer platforms and parking areas (like many European airports did) so the kids and parents could enjoy plane spotting!
