Either way embarrassing for half of the student section to be empty for such a big game. Hockey is kool but not as big of a following as football even when we were in the cfb basement and that's a fact lol. What's the highest attendance they've ever had? @@adriansmith5279 to be fair, TCU and Ohio St. are teams that usually are relatively successful so it shouldn't really be a shock they are doing so well, granted they are doing better than expected. I mentioned those teams because they have completed surpassed expectations from last year and the years beforehand

I'm not even a UConn fan yet I've been actively rooting for them for weeks now! So happy for all the people in that program and all the fans who have rooted for the team through the lowest of lows, if any fan base deserves some level of success it's them and Kansas, and now they're both going to a bowl game
We live in a world where both Kansas And UConn are both bowl eligible and I’m all for it
Kansas, Kentucky, Connecticut, Duke, North Carolina, and UCLA all at once.
And A&M won’t be
Vanderbilt also beating a ranked Kentucky team (which broke a 26 game losing streak to conference opponents), Alabama has lost twice this season, Illinois and Tulane have been ranked, Notre Dame losing 3 games this season (two of them to bad opponents in Marshall and Stanford), and Boston College beating a ranked NC State team on the road.
I also forgot to mention of course earlier in the season which feels like a lifetime ago where Appalachian State beat a then top 10 opponent in Texas A&M which they repeat history 15 years later after their upset over #5 Michigan in 2007
If someone told me before the season started that out of UConn, Kansas, Duke, Kentucky, Maryland, Western Kentucky and Texas A&M, exactly one of them would not be bowl eligible, I wouldn't have pegged Texas A&M as that one.

This season was insane!! We witnessed another big APP State win, The return of Kansas, Tulane and UConn is going to a BOWL game.... Pac12 having an actual shot at PLAYOFFS, and the amount of big time upsets was incredible!!! It's like watching 2007 all over again. I'd never imagined this would happen. Now that bowl season is about to begin... I wish all teams have good luck and an incredible end to the season. Happy 2022 cfb season y'all :*)

Going to a bowl this season is more than the team with the number one recruiting class for 2022 (and top ten recruiting classes for three years prior) can say.
Hopefully this was indeed the calling Jim Mora was looking for. After flaming out in the NFL and UCLA, perhaps it’s at UConn where he can build a legacy.

Congrats UConn! Liberty was already down 3 LB and then Ahmad Walker got ejected early in the 2nd half. Was bad enough our first 2 RB were out but not having 4 LB, we could not stop the run, and UConn took full advantage. Mora is a good play caller and coach. Liberty had a lot of critical penalties in this game.

Travelled with the Houston band to UCONN in 2019. The fans were hilarious and self aware of how bad they are. Their band even gave us ice cream.

UConn could beat Liberty but Arkansas couldn't. This season has already been more disappointing than the 2018 Razorback season. We had high expectations, an almost 4-0 start, and we have gone 2-5 since Arkansas started 3-0.
And they did it against Liberty, making it even sweeter for everyone.

It’s not unusual for a conference to fail to have enough bowl eligible teams to send teams to all their tie-in bowls-and then, the spot can open up.
Theres the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. And I think theirs a new bowl game in Boston. Maybe they’ll invite UConn?

Yes. Finish with a 6-6 record or better.
UConn is eligible but because they aren’t in a conference they don’t have any automatic bowl tie ins, so it’s unofficial

How liberty was ranked just a few weeks ago is beyond me.
Now it’s UMASS turn
Here's why. As our population grows more schools from elementary to high schools are built. However, no new colleges are being built nor are existing colleges without an athletics programs are starting them. It costs too much.
The top rated schools cannot possibly absorb all those 5 star recruits. UT got as many as they could but many transferred because not all of them for any playing time.
With no where else to go since the top schools already have more than what they need they look at the schools that are not traditionally football schools or schools that have programs that have never had a winning season or it been years since they had a winning season.
Same with coaches.Too many coaches moving up the ranks cannot go to the tops schools.
That's why you see many of the lower level schools break into the top 25.

If you mean New Year’s Six Bowl (but non CFP) then you’d be absolutely right. Tulane lost to UCF so as of now the Knights are the highest ranked Group Of Five team.
Never count out Liberty they have enough wins to make it to a bowl game so not all is lost,I like this school and they have a good head coach who can keep them on their winning ways for a long time to come.
