Another incentive to actually study is to schedule the exam for a date that's weeks or months from now so that not losing that exam fee will help motivate you to study.
I've definitely done that in the past. It's both good and bad. Good in the sense that it helps keep you motivated for sure! Bad in the sense that you might be tempted to rush if you book too early. So if you think you can set a realistic time frame, then go for it - and if you feel you need more time to study, don't consider it a failure to push the exam date back a bit (which is free to do if I remember correctly) 😊
I upgraded to Adrian's 'all the things' offering just before the new year. Looking really forward to seeing more of his courses in the future. I also have a few of Stephane's for the specialist certs not covered by Adrian. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone interested in AWS.
Thanks Lucy! Took a while but I've learned so much since I started the channel and it's been loads of fun making these videos. This is just the beginning 🚀 And for everyone else reading this, go and check out Lucy's channel, she makes some of the best career + uni + cloud content on RUclips 🙌🏻
@@PatrickB1111 I'm aiming for the security specialty. I already watched your video. Quick question, seems like Adrian Cantrill doesn't have a course for the security specialty, does the security section in the solutions architect professional course covers it well?
Hi Patrik, I recently certified with AWS SAA, I was thinking of getting Solution Architect Professional next, but I had my doubts on that. After watching your videos I came to know about Adrien and I watch his video about AWS certifications and had a clear vision on my next move. So I’m going with Developer Associate. And I got Adriens course for that. I want to thank you for sharing such a valuable information and help me.
For a moment with the thumbnail picture I thought it was Pitch Meeting video with Ryan and you was going to say 'I passed the AWS Developer Associate in 2 weeks' 'was it hard' 'super easy, barely an inconvienance' :D
Doing it in 2 weeks would help me get more interviews coming out of a leadership position needing a role that has more access to AWS...I need a job asap.
Look, probably not - I just did it as a challenge and it makes for a good video title 😂 definitely take your time with it, it's worth learning the concepts in detail. Good luck :)

Hi I recently got my AWS associate architect certificate can you suggest me should I go for AWS developer associate or directly go to AWS devops?? Is it required to gain knowledge on developer before we go for devops?? Please suggest thank you

Hi. I have some experience in AWS services related to data warehousing but haven't studied for any AWS course/exam. Should I apply for a developer associate?
Can you go over what you think are must-have prerequisites for this AWS Developer cert? I am currently a CS major about to graduate with no knowledge of cloud computing. Should I get the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner cert first? Thank you!
It's up to you. If you want a quick win CCP is pretty easy and can help you to get motivated to learn more. If you're motivated anyway I'd say skip it and go straight to SAA (solutions architect associate). SAA covers pretty much all the CCP content so you won't miss anything, plus another 5x more content that is very useful. CCP is just a bit empty to me - more aimed at business leaders who want to understand *why* to use the cloud, not *how*.
Hello there Can anyone help me please I was trying to learn cloud computing and i start taking a AWS course to get certified But it's so difficult for me There are a lot of terms I've never heard of before And each term need a whole video or course to understand it So my question is s What is the prerequisites to learn cloud computing ? I'm starting to give up and i feel like it's not for everyone 😥
Hey great question and I really love the openness to learn! I think what you need to focus on is core IT fundamentals - networking basics, operating systems, virtualisation, databases, server/client concepts, basic security, what actually happens when you type in a URL in your browser, etc. For this I'd say Adrian's Cantrill's courses are pretty good - they have dedicated sections like networking fundamentals and how virtualisation works. In particular Developer Associate and Solutions Architect Associate are really good for this. Otherwise, an IT diploma (or bachelor's degree) might help you get started. That said, you can learn just about everything online, so don't think you necessarily need a degree - but having a structured learning environment is very helpful for many people. Core idea = cloud computing is an area within IT, so it's very hard to understand cloud if you don't understand IT in the first place. Therefore, focus on those fundamentals before launching into cloud computing. Also check out Udemy for each of the areas I listed above, it's pretty good for basic and cheap courses.
Depends what you want to achieve. If you don't have a particular specialisation in mind, all three associate-level certifications are a great starting point and can help you understand what you are most interested in.
Hello I've listened to you and I must say, I learned something good. I want to ask, can skip the AWS cloud practioner and go straight to the AWS Associate levels?
Yes, I'd say so. Cloud Practitioner is a bit of a bludge - you could probably do it with a week of study even if you knew no AWS beforehand. Any cert that easy is a waste of time IMO
Yep it's a hefty beast 😍 he keeps adding new things to it so the actual length is kind of unknown at this point. But I'd say 50 - 80 hours is probably accurate
You'll probably pass, but not much more. More importantly, a lot of the knowledge they provide is surface level which makes it really easy to fall into the trap of thinking you know things when really you were just prepped for the exam and not much real-world. Adrian's and Stephane's courses are 10x better
@@shreyanshumalviya I'm sure it will! I faced the same situation, I have about 8 days to get that certificate and I just get started with my preparations :D
