Fun fact: It took me two days (and a broken allen key) to figure out how to take off those shaft extenders. Yep... Two days! Crazy right? I almost gave up because afraid of breaking the shaft or rotor. I'm glad it eventually came loose! These new bearings run sooo smoothly... I love it! If you want to know more about any particular process shown in this video be sure to check description, I always write a very detailed list of operations and product used.
my mechanics awesome that you commented and are supportive. You’re actually the first restoration I ever watched, and I absolutely love your videos. You ingenuitive mind amazes me.
Beautiful restoration ! Heavy working machines like this (and you have restored a LOT) are a call for many of us who find these and bring them back to life and a pleasure to watch. TY for sharing your fine craftsmanship. Look forward to more !
Nice restoration. Glad to see you didn't go crazy and use body filler all over the machine like some other 'restorers' do. You cleaned it up, got it functional, and kept the character.
Your Headstock is moving. That's not a good sign! Good for another Project/Video. I liked this one ! (Although I put it on 0.5 Speed to enjoy it) Good Color/Great Machine
That came out awesome! It’s a beast... One tip I’ll share even though I saw your threads were right when you put on that buffer wheel. I usually stamp an “R” on the end of the right side spindle end during disassembly so when I reassemble I’m sure to put it back together correctly the first time. It only took once after reassembly and having a wheel come loose on me to learn that trick. Luckily I was able to shut down just as it started wobbling... Note to self: The nuts always tighten against the spin direction😉 I’m sure that will outlive is all, it’s a gem! Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for the share.... A nice trick to make your paint stripper stretch is to wrap the freshly painted pieces with plastic bags so it cant evaporate and dry out. It reduces the aggravation a bit.
This is one of those projects where a sand blaster would have made it so much easier. But in the end the thing came out beautiful. But that paint... that has to be the best part. I have an old 60s 94 inch bandsaw and a large belt sander from the same manufacture and era that I will be restoring and painting the same.
That was just amazing! I was wondering if you were going to sandblast the surfaces to bare metal before painting. I have never knew there was such beautiful metallic paint that can be put on by brush.
The “plaque” at 4:03 is the motor’s descriptive nameplate. Gives you electrical details of the motor ie; hp, voltage, amperes, phase, cycles, etc. Sometimes a magnifying glass helps to read it Or, you can bring out the details on the plate by wiping over it with oil or a darker liquid. Lightly wipe it in order to help the lettering retain the fluid. Hope this helps🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I feel envy for this lucky purchase. I love old cast iron machines. And stylish design. The threaded shaft extension is really a bit unexpected. Great job as always.
I watchet this video with my 8yo son. We both got gaping whatching how majestic that restoration went. Thank you to bring us your job m8. Oh, and I wished you would paint it that green paint and you did it. I guess I'm learning something with you. =P
Hi man , i was thinking that You can make an improvised sand blaster with your air compresor to help You to take of the rust and paint a Lot easier, regards from Argentina bro
Ummhh... Tutti Complimenti. Nice job men!
Love that it was originally painted in Celeste #227. Supposedly the color came from Italian military surplus, and was used for all sorts of things post-war.
Delightful job. One thing that concearned me alot was the wire wheel.... I personally think that the wire is thin enough to get poisoned by small amount of rust that makes small wire pieces flying everywhere while using. If you are going to use the grinder in your shop i highly suggest getting a new wire wheel, just for the durability :)
Super job. With that said, there a couple of questions. I’ve used wd 40 on a couple of projects for lubrication on bearings, but instead of lubricating it cleaned the bearing surface and quickly caused the bearing to seize up. I’ve also tried using it clean electrical contacts on an electric mower. As soon as I turned the mower on, the wd 40 shorted the contacts and burned up the switch. How did you use it lube the armature bearings without having yours seize up? You also used it on the contact/on-off block. Did you wait several minutes and letting it air dry before mounting it to the housing and wiring it up?
Great work on the restoration man! Maybe you should get a sandblasting gun/cabin to clean the parts faster or derust hard to reach places And maybe solder the crimped connectiond in the next restoration that will make better contacts and makes em last longer greetings from holland!!
Great job! Love the Italian-themed on-off switch. These are not easy to find; have you thought of using a free-standing arbout? With your lathe and skills it might be an interesting construction project. (The one I used had a tapering shaft, snd I don't know how one machines threads on that.)
Abraço do Brasil 🇧🇷
lovely resto job- well done. Super useful tool. I am usually the last to be Mr safety but PLEASE please make sure that you make some kind of stop so that work pieces that get caught in the wheel do not end up being thrown in your face. Yes...it just happened to my buddy and now he may have only one eye he can use. Just a stiff bar at the back so that work can't get pulled round would be good.
Great! My only nag would be that, except for the yellow wire to the case, I saw no stress relief for the power cord. I hate when they get pulled out and sparks fly. Seems very powerful and fast. No gloves or sleeves while using that one! Arm-breaker.

Black Beard Projects BADASS Bench Grinder!!!
Che invidia!!
Keep up the good work buddy!
The skill, the tools, the solvents, the paint………all beyond me. Heck, I am impressed with the skill shown by using the flathead screwdriver!!!
Did you just restore a wire wheel?
I should have made a dedicated video 🤔 wire wheeling a wire wheel!
Just like I told My Mechanics, you would have done a much more thorough job. And there would have been Nutella.
Hey. Get back to your own videos. Lol
A wire wheel deep clean
I love the streamline design of this grinder with the long shafts. Good job on the restoration 👍
my mechanics awesome that you commented and are supportive. You’re actually the first restoration I ever watched, and I absolutely love your videos. You ingenuitive mind amazes me.
It's nice to see the restoration channels supporting each other so much. A great community.
This was a good restoration. But it made me miss yours.
Thank you my friend!!
The only thing missing was the "I make a new one" you do on your videos. Both of you gentlemen make great content. Thank You!
Beautiful restoration ! Heavy working machines like this (and you have restored a LOT) are a call for many of us who find these and bring them back to life and a pleasure to watch. TY for sharing your fine craftsmanship. Look forward to more !
Love the British Racing Green. This to me is a true restoration, minimal parts replaced and everything up and functioning as it use to be.

Bravo. Everything the Italians produce has style. What a lovely looking machine.
Just imagine how many of those era machines were scrapped??? Only if we had Blackbeard years ago!!! Great channel!
Beautiful craftsmanship on the Italian grinder. I respect the skills demonstrated. This man is a master mechanics master.
Nice restoration. Glad to see you didn't go crazy and use body filler all over the machine like some other 'restorers' do. You cleaned it up, got it functional, and kept the character.

Awesome Italian Bench Grinder restoration !!!!!!!!!!! Love the color you picket out for it.
Skill and effort results in a SICK outcome. GREAT WORK !
Of all of your videos that I’ve seen, this one might have impressed me the most!

The threaded shaft extension is really a bit unexpected.
Great job as always.
This came out great! I really like the green you used to paint it.
Ottimo restauro. Bravo davvero
Very nice! You can't beat rebuilt old tools. 10 times better than today's cheap garbage.
I watchet this video with my 8yo son. We both got gaping whatching how majestic that restoration went. Thank you to bring us your job m8. Oh, and I wished you would paint it that green paint and you did it. I guess I'm learning something with you. =P
Love the hum of the machine as you first turned it on. Beautiful restoration job! I enjoy your work!
Nice job and very nice grinder/buffer. I need one and I know they don't sell anything like those old school types today.
Beautiful restoration. That's the kind of machine that got a lot of purpose to it. Nice job!!!
Amazing, well done 👍🏻, very interesting video, can you tell us please what did you paint the inside of the housing?!
super fine Job, the Power Button is the coolest i ever seen. Bella Machina !
Just a note, I'm pretty sure those silly little wires that you took out of the switch were fuseable links. So, basically, wire-fuse.
Nice powerful machine with long extensions for working large objects. Looks new. Great job!!!
Really beautiful restoration! I love the colors you choose to put on your stuff.
Hi man , i was thinking that You can make an improvised sand blaster with your air compresor to help You to take of the rust and paint a Lot easier, regards from Argentina bro
Finally a restauration without this fashion of the sandblasting... Very nice and efficient job. Well done.
Where can I buy a buffing wheel for my bench grinder (as seen at 20:28 )? The ebay ones are useless
I love that your videos always make me want to go out to my workshop...even if I am watching them at 2 in the morning.
Well, it's official...I am now addicted to your videos. Some I watch several times. Just can't help myself. Extraordinary work, my friend.
Brilliant ! thank you for sharing, I loved the paint finish......I cant believe you did this with a bush !

Nice hack on that 3 phase motor. Using capacitors to get it to work on 230v is a good idea , but with time it damages the coils.
I did it cool, as if I did it myself, just as soundly and reliably.
Love that it was originally painted in Celeste #227. Supposedly the color came from Italian military surplus, and was used for all sorts of things post-war.
This Is a beautiful work. CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!
Ottimo lavoro, paziente ed accurato. Vero artista artigiano manuale ! Bravo !
Very nice, a three phase grinder with an old style ceramic switch, classy.
Superb work, gentleman, congratulations!
Excellent restoration of a fine machine. Love that sexy Italian engineering - the Bugatti of buffers!
My Italian heart cries, of all the great Italian companies, you choose the one that is French,
@@riccardobossi5907
Ooops... you're right! How embarrassing (my wife is Sicilian).
@@danielabbey7726 no probs, the founder was italia, and the great EB110 wps designed and built in Italy, so you weren't completely wrong
You did an outstanding job. This is why I watch all your videos.
What a wonderful old Grinder..!
SUPER Restoration & Craftsmanship..!!
Cool great result and I find it interesting how different people approach restoration projects. The way they prioritise differently.
that's a really solid machine. nice job bringing it back to life.
Can you reverse the switch green means running and red means stopped ?
GOOD JOB.
Yeah, something's backwards....
You did an awsome job!!! I enjoyed watching this video. Good job and keep up the hard work.😁👍
Beautiful piece of equipment. You saved it.
I'm a great fan of your work BBP! More power
Beautiful restoration
I love the different sounds and the metal tinks

Exellent! Very good job. I always watch videos on this channel with great pleasure
Nice unit and great quality restore
That paint is gorgeous
Loved how you took the time to move the brown marmorated stink bug out of harms way .
Great job! Love the Italian-themed on-off switch.

Hi
Thanks for your videos
can you recommand a web site where to buy such a cotton buffing wheel (20:40) and other stuff for the grinder please ? thx
Nice job sir and that's a lovely machine 👍
Beautiful restoration, the only problem is that its in your shop and not mine. I see it being used in future restorations.
Great job on the restoration! What are the specs on the motor, how many Kw of juice can that big boy handle?
I really enjoyed your video. Nice work.
great old buffer I enjoyed the video
Holy crap. That colour is amazing.
Paint job is amazing.
