@@WilsonAnjere I’m sorry I dnt understand.
I love how much you're adopting the use of Swahili more frequently in each video, I've got so much respect for people who learn a new language as adults, endelea vivyo hivyo, practice makes perfect.
Sawa sawa Ndio it does pole pole! I’ll get there! Asante for you’re support and kind words 🙏🏾🇰🇪
@@Dolledupandthangs You been taking these baby steps and you doing great darling Hongera sana!!🙌

I love how your family has integrated with the culture, people and places. Kudos and blessings to you!
Asante rafiki I really enjoy it here! Karibu 🇰🇪🙏🏾
this thumbnail is just perfect.. I see the improvement keep it up Dorothy
Asante kaka 🙏🏾 I’ll keep going
Hey Dorothy. Instant fan here. I'm a Kenyan watching from Delaware. I came from your hubbies channel. Even more exciting that you are from Philly. Can't wait to go back.
Habari yako 🤗 I’m so glad enjoying the content on both channels and Ndio kuja nyumbani soon!
I am so confused and proud at the same time...like yoooh, 'Mambo fam?'... That made me so happy, plus how you articulate yourself using English, kidogo slang(sheng)... That is such a typical Kenyan way to communicate, we rarely know what the next word will fall under, English, Swahili or sheng.. You guys are really adapting fully, I love that.
Asante for your kind words dada sounds like how I’m on the right I talk
Like this everyday!
Shopping in malls especially clothes, shoes, vegetables etc is expensive, you can just go to local markets.Loving your videos, your Swahili has really improved .
Asante kaka 😊 for the advice I do go to kangaware market as much as possible for veggies and fruits. Store for meats and I shop local as much as possible! It’s definitely a new thing for me since moving here however very much apart of the norm day to day 😊💪🏾🇰🇪 asante sana for your support kaka 🙏🏾
I just like how you interject with Kiswahili words for emphasis when you do your storytelling, quite impressive. If you really put your mind to it, you can learn Kiswahili very quickly. It is a phonetic language and doesn't have a large vocabulary like English. The only issue with Kenya or more specifically Nairobi is that "sheng" which is our slang or patois is used alongside Kiswahili. Outside of Nairobi not so much and definitely not in Mombasa. So you should pick up slang words that are used often even as you learn Kiswahili.
If she picks up Nairobi swahili and ends up speaking fluently she'll feel like other sawahili and especially for tz and mombasa sounding funny lol 😅 but Kanairo swahili its the best.... i love it 🫶🏿😂
Ndio nafika hapa pole pole kakas 🤗🙏🏾🇰🇪
@@Dolledupandthangs Am proud of you! 😊
There's a goodwill equivalent in Kenya known as Think Twice, there's one in Kawangware. There's some difference between the two obviously but the concept is pretty much the same.
Asante kaka I’m definitely going to check this place out! 💪🏾🇰🇪🙏🏾
welcome to Kenya
Asante sana! 🙌🏾🙏🏾🇰🇪
Malls are expensive. If you are looking forward to save, you can go to the market... Have you thought of traveling to other towns in Kenya- Naivasha, Nakuru, eldoret, meru, Nyeri where there is mt. Kenya ..kakamega, kisumu
Ndio I have been to some of those places and I can’t wait to journey more into Kenya 🇰🇪
Giiiirrrllll I love your videos so much ❤️❤️❤️💯💯... The fact that Kenya is now your home.. 😘🏡.. I just Love how you quickly settled here in Nairobi 😱💯💯⚡...... I got a problem though 🤗🤗..... Please get a new microphone 🎙️ for us .. we need to be able to get you clearly.... We love your content ❤️💯💯💯
Asante dada 🤗😁🇰🇪 I appreciate your support and love for the Channel 😊🙏🏾 I will fix the sound for I know what happened definitely won’t happen again pole.
SIS!!!!! I'm moving there in 2 weeks! We must link lol!!!
Kenya is magical
If you can watch Dave Mani, you can get an idea how magical Kenya is, There is more beauty outside Nairobi which many don't explore, Naivasha, Lewa, Olpajeta, Samburu, Diani, Watamu, Eldoret

😂 Ndio that’s the city life for it. I’m not use it it as much kind of in the states they do be rushing but the space be there sometimes 😂
The mall is beautiful! Lol personal space is everything!! 😂 love your video!!❤️
Ndio it is! Asante for your continuous support mama 🙏🏾💪🏾🤗❤️
I can see your hair is in braids, you should talk more about the price of braiding hair in the states vs in Kenya
I’m definitely creating a Hair Vlog so stay tuned for that!
Your Swahili pronunciation is getting better and better, Dorothy.
Ayyyee asante 💪🏾🇰🇪😃
I would love to see you and your family exploring coffe and tea plantations. (It can make you buy land and do farming, settle and your kids will have something to inherit. Don't fail)
Never with Allah by our side how could we 🤗 my Husband actually toured a coffee farm recently check it out on his page @mfalme Musa
@@Dolledupandthangs thank you.
I love love love your videos. I dearly miss home. Watching you from Texas.
Asante sana for the sub and support! I’m glad you enjoy the channel! Kuja nyumbani soon!
Yes i saw a kids place at two rivers, i REALLY love that they respect children. Keep posting boo. The second hand whew. Lol bahahahha not 😅 Goodwill
😂 girl I love a good thrift shop I’m telling you 😂🤗
Peace and blessings our Kenyan sister 😂 dope videos as always 💚
Asante Dennis for the love kaka 🙏🏾🇰🇪
Cars are quite complicated to buy if second hand. Best go to an official dealer of a manufacturer you know. Downside is the price and may be customized for local conditions. If second hand, then use someone that you know well who has lived long in Nairobi to guide you. Toyota is quite good with both new and used, but maintenance is easiest to have in Kenya.
I screenshot this 😂 I appreciate your response soo much! Asante Martino 💪🏾🇰🇪🙏🏾
@@Dolledupandthangs If not a brand new car from the dealership, you need to be very cautious. Get people you trust and have bought before,to guide you and have a good mechanic to test everything before buying.
In Kenya bargaining in only done in low income places it is very rare to bargain in high income places such as malls people just buy because most of the clothes and items are brand new and genuine products leave the bargaining to low income settings i.e. just check where you purchase from if it looks classy or bougie please don't bargain this is frowned upon but if the place is like the market its fine. if you don't like the price you look for another better priced shop this is the culture in bougie settings.
Asante for this information rafiki! I definitely dnt bargain in malls stores hapana however if I’m at a market I have no choice! Sometimes I have the energy for it! 😆 this information Is great for newcomers asante!
@@Dolledupandthangs Cool I thought I heard bargaining at the mall, Am Kenyan and I hate bargaining let me share my bargaining hack if I have to bargain I always have a set price in mind if they refuse I walk and most times they call me back. but I mostly buy my stuff where there's no bargaining nice vlog asante
Who bargains is malls, supermarkets etc? There are price tags. The only place you bargain is at the markets, individual stores etc.
Hey sis! There is a think twice shop in Kenya and it basically sells second hand clothes... there is one un ngara which you can visit and make a video about it, you wouldn't have to bargain because there are tags on the clothes.... do some research about it or any other of the think twice in Nairobi and film for us the experience.
Wow this sounds great. I’ll definitely check it out
A grocery haul would be interesting ❤️
Ndio working on this one! Very great informative episode it’ll be 🙏🏾🇰🇪
Second hand clothes are thrifts, maybe not just as glamorous in Ke Lc Wakiki and Mr Price are overpriced. There's a similar Kenyan store though; Alladin, world of Brands. I don't know if they're in Junction mall, but they're in TRM and 2 Rivers. Their Clothes might not look as great, but hey, Buy Kenya, Build Kenya! Hehe.
Asante for this great information 🤗 any store recommendations is greatly appreciated! I’ll check them out when I tour those mall as well! Excited 😆 🙏🏾 and Ndio some clothes in those stores are overpriced! 👀😯
Actually Alladin in TRM stock clothes that are exported to the US and the left overs are sold in Kenya. I've visited the store a few times in TRM mall since it is in my neighboudhood and the prices are very affordable. The only issue is that it is a small store and doesn't have a lot of variety.
@@alexchui3511 Yes. But it's not similar to a Mr Price/Lc Waikiki design/vibe. I will say they're good quality and last long. You should visit the Two Rivers one, I find their selection to be of a wider variety and the store isn't as small.
Happy for you❤
ASANTE RAFIKI so happy to be hapa! Excited 😆 for every day!
The comment about the stores having second hand clothes is not true. Especially in high end malls. So you are safe with regards to that. Love that you enjoy my country.
Sawa sawa asante kaka for the reassurance I appreciate your support! I feel very welcomed asante 🙏🏾🇰🇪
go hiking to mt longonot ...its near the city & the view is great from the top of the crater
This sounds amazing! Asante sana for the video idea 🙏🏾🇰🇪💪🏾
Nice! Keep it coming!
Thank you, ma'am.
Karibu! 🙏🏾💪🏾🇰🇪
@@Dolledupandthangs I am Nigerian by the way. You are appreciated for being in Africa. You are the best.
Thank you, ma'am.
Please visit Gikomba and do a video there where they sell the second hand clothes
I’ll have to add this to the list! Asante got the recommendation 🤗🙏🏾🇰🇪
That place is crazy. Not for the faint-hearted. I wouldn't recommend it unless she goes with a local who is used to those kinds of places and not just any local.
Look for think twice
I will!! Asante for the suggestions
Nice content keep it up
🙌🏾🙏🏾🇰🇪 asante Jared
Lc Waikiki is brand new
Oh really?! Didn’t know that! Some things aren’t priced bad there especially during red dot 🔴 sale which I dnt know about unless I walk by 😂

Asante for asking and supporting kaka 🤗🙏🏾
Your swahili is so good
Asante kaka
Forget about personal space. That is a Western myth.
Unless you enjoy playing chicken with Matatus all day please forget about driving in Nairobi.
Uber Economy is $2 per ride on average. Parking in CBD is $3. Do the math.
😂 i actually am used to it but sometimes i be in a mood 😂 not playing chicken with Matatus you funny 😂 yea your right
NEW SUBBIE HERE...NIPITIENI GUYS❤❤❤
Asante for the Sub! Karibu 🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️
The audio was just bad
Ooh really?! Pole! The sound in the mall was getting higher so I turned the volume low to avoid the music playing too loud. I’ll work on that for future Mall Vlogs. Asante for your feedback rafiki 🙏🏾
