I remember bringing my first ever real girlfriend to my mom’s crib, grew up in Elliott-Chelsea Houses downtown and nobody could explain the embarrassment I had having to show her where I grew up. If you know you know… the entire subway ride to Chelsea on the 1 train I was praying there was no piss in the elevator.. my girl at the time wasn’t from the projects she was from Long Island and grew up in beautiful homes. I was fortunate enough that she didn’t care where I came from she saw my potential and knew we wouldn’t be living there. I always appreciated that she wasn’t that type of female to look down on something you couldn’t control and was born into. I eventually got out those projects and now own a very nice home. Keep fighting for more family, don’t settle for pissy elevators because when it’s time to bring a shorty home I guarantee you will feel that same feeling I felt bringing mine home and I know some of ya know exactly what I’m talking about.
Oh yeah by the way for those I left hanging… there absolutely was piss in the elevator when we got there. I didn’t even know where to put my face at lol. These are things I’ll never forget and this is why I wake up everyday and fight for more because I will be damn if I have to go back to that.
There's nothing "socioeconomic" about not keeping your living environment free from straight up filth. There's also nothing socioeconomic that makes you have something in your hand, and then just throw it on the ground.
When l went to Bronx River to ask mayor Eric Adams about the allegations of harm that took place in Hip Hop's shadows, l was struck by how desolate Bronx River seemed. *Steel Talk*
Hassan,I'm so glad someone is bringing this up. One of my biggest pet peeves. And those are the same people complaining about the roaches 🪳 and rats 🐀 but be the main ones leaving trash in the stairwells and project hallways.
They really need to change to sanitation pickup every friday or something, Every 2 week is too long tbh, many people are super active within their homes and always throwing stuff away.
This is an indication of the mindsets of people today. Depression. Homelessness. Anger. It shows in situations like these where people walk past this daily and have no issue with it. Emotional Zombies. Cleanliness shouldn't feel like an option that you pass over!!!
It blows my mind when I hear people complain about our hoods being filthy, acting like rich folks are coming and throwing trash out their car windows, on our streets, on our sidewalks, or dog shit all over the place. I see it everyday, they be standing 2 steps from a trash bin and they toss it on the ground. I don’t miss Bronx River at all.
In Connecticut too, the apartment complex I work at, these mfs dirty too and I'm the porter here, I done seen human shtt in the laundry trash can, THE LAUNDRY TRASH CAN
That pile of garbage been at that same spot since the 90's, overflowing. The question is knowing and witnessing that, why won't you stop going over there?!!!! The configuration of those apartments are absolutely asinine, I H@TED being there
Projects like Bronx River, also house the working poor, trying to make a way out of no way, for themselves and family. Don't demonize a people, purely based on their address. *Steel Talk*
I took my kids to the arcade and witnessed one of our young men, throw candy paper on the floor when a trash can was right near him. No damn respect for nothing
Ima keep it all the way funky with you tho Hass. I’m from the projects but as a grown a$$ man the only hood I’m claiming is fatherhood! “They say it’s the white man I should fear but it’s my own kind doin all the killin here.”~Pac Swear the hood always wanted me dead even when I got out & went back & was pulling the lil homies out 🤷🏽♂️FrFr

Alrededor de 6000 en sólo dos semanas, ella en realidad envió de parte de Dios.

Bronx River is not alone, in it's socioeconomic challenges. Many hands contribute to a failed Hood. It will take many to turn it around. *Steel Talk*

Psalms 119:29
Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously.
Wow I didn't know they had incinerators in those buildings
They dont just trash compactors.
The confined living space in the projects, were known to contribute to antisocial and self destructive behavior, before they were built.
