Hi, Rob from Red Hood Comics here. I was absolutely interested in this collection, but with the seller having received multiple bids because I wasn’t the only one informed about the collection (as I thought I was), I couldn’t justify making an offer higher than the highest bid, which just didn’t see the value and return on investment here. There are several moments in Sticky’s video where it sounds like I didn’t pull through on a promise but that’s not the case, just to be clear. I didn’t win the collection but had I did, I definitely would have taken care of the one who provided the lead. Some guy from L.A. came in with a strong offer and he was a collector, not a dealer, who planned on keeping the big books and selling the other stuff over time. And thank you to those who spoke positive of me in the comments on this video, I appreciate it very much. Also to clarify, I don’t advertise making millions of dollars, that information is incorrect. I annually post my taxes and show people and those interested what I spend yearly to run my business, not my sales. Also, the Joker suit shown in the video is one of Cesar Romero’s, which I also own. And last, I always work with people on my pricing when my prices get outdated and as the market changes, regardless of what the video suggests.
I find it interesting the channel owner pinned Rob/Red Hood's comment but offered no direct response to apologize for characterizing him the way he did.
@@horvathsogranfume658 and if you watch the video, he believes he deserved a payment from both the seller AND Red Hood even if a deal didn't happen between those two.
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
Sorry, but no... you effectively DID get compensation from the seller of this collection by way of having new content to feature on your channel, which generates monetization revenue for you. And as for Rob from Red Hood, while I've not done business with him myself, I'm on his side of this situation. The only promise he made to you was some sort of payment IF he was able to make a deal for these comics. That obviously didn't happen, so nothing is owed - end of story. Even without a direct heads-up, Rob could've just as easily watched your first video about this collection and initiated contact with the seller himself as other dealers and/or collectors obviously did. My two cents...
Unless the other guy who bought the collection heard about it from you, the seller doesn't really owe you anything, in my opinion. It wasn't your lead that sold the collection.
Rob (Redhood) is a good dude and not as you have portrayed him. You also didn’t broker deal. Yes, you provided a lead, but nothing came of it so you should not expect anything from anyone nor does Rob owe you anything.
Redhood (Rob) is a standup guy, and a pleasure to deal with. He wouldn’t stiff anyone…if he said he’d do something. He would do it. That also would have only been if he landed a deal with said seller. Other than that he doesn’t owe you nothing…nor should you expect it if you were the one who informed said person. And…guys like Rob would have resold to collectors. His prices are not bad either. I can’t speak on other seller. But redhood is a good dude.
I don't see how it's any different than not expecting Marvel or DC to pay you for promoting their books released weekly. I also don't think it sounded very fair on your part to make any comments at all on the payment (or lack of) when you knowingly acknowledged you didn't contribute directly to the end sale. "Getting ghosted by the guy..." as if he owed you something. He gave you content, which is what your channel is about. So you got something out of it even if you don't realize it. I appreciate the content though, the original collection video was nice to see.
I don't understand how you got shafted. I mean, you didn't broker the deal. Had Red Hood bought it, then I could see where you would be due a cut/percentage/fee/free book/taco party, whatever. But you weren't part of the actual sale. Ultimately, you just advertised his stuff without charging him for it.
Yeah, I'm still trying to understand the issue here.I can only guess that Stickey Goose is more upset that the Seller didn't show stickey Goose the whole collection. My guess is the Seller knew Red Hood would possibly buy the collection as a whole so he didn't show all the collection or even the full extent of the books.
What could have happened is that multiple buyer's could have went in on this collection. Given that this collection was estimated over six figures, I can't see just one buyer putting a house up for sell for comic books. So, with multiple investors going in on it, I would imagine that the obligation of who was going to compensate the Goose, was passed around to one another until the conversation was changed.
Double helping of content today! If Red Hood didn’t buy, is perhaps the finders fee not yours if a random person bought it? Maybe that’s why? I know you promoted it for them so that sucks that they used you like that. But at least on the bright side it was a good video. Is $4200 how much you paid for your Hulk 181? Only asking because I’ve got a 4.0 as well. I picked up a few years back for $3000. Sucks that they are going down in value now! 😢 Really enjoy your videos.
The other collection that you went to the guys home with the bookcases was far more valuable in my opinion he used you to sell his collection that's America.
Sticky, this is NOT how you go about conducting business. It could take days and weeks for all monies to switch hands between these guys and THEN they will take care of you. I was a middleman on a very rare piece of art work in the mid 2000's BOTH the seller and buyer stated they would get me something for being the middle man. I never even asked for something and I finally got something from both people about 3 weeks later and it was WAY more than I expected. I like your videos BUT this one you seems very bitter and you also putting other peoples business OUT there in which I am sure BOTH of them did not give you full consent to do so. This video could hurt you working with other people in the future so please be careful. Take care keep making good comic videos.
Dude you’re the dude amazing man you are. I lost interest a year ago going with gold but you remind me ITS FUN. I WANNA THANK YOU I’m just an old country boy. Your collection is good 👍mine is…
Yeah.. this shows that there are hoarder collections out there. Multiples of multiples of “rare” books. The curtain is finally pulled back and the newbies who got fleeced during the Covid comic bubble are seeing the truth.
Honestly, if you are due anything, I would think it would be from the seller. You said yourself that you didn't post the video with expectations of compensation. However, the seller shouldn't have promised anything he wasn't willing to do. Do you have any way of knowing if your video was integral to the selling of the collection? Tough as it is, if you can't make a direct connection between your video and the selling of the collection, there's just no way to know if you really played a part in this transaction. Sorry, if you got stung on this one.
Short of having a definitive agreement with the seller or potential buyers, you were not owed any kind of finder's fee. What's more, it appears you have no idea how the eventual buyer got in contact with the seller. Plus, you admit in your video that you did it to make content for your channel.
I dont know but, id guess a large payment such as this wouldnt be a cash transaction and sometimes bank transactions takes multiple days to complete. SG you stated its been a week out and you have yet to be compensated. Maybe youre jumping the gun complaining about the seller here. I dont know, i heard you say that the seller hasnt even contacted you either. So, maybe he never did intend to compensate you as you believe. Either way, its not a good look for you to complain and use the language you did here on this video. Just my 2 cents.
Sticky Goose, you should have went down there and made a video of the guys collection and maybe tried to buy a few books cause you will never get another chance to see a collection like you are talking about ever again.
Helping someone out was you good deed for the day Sticky! Sorry you weren't compensated for your efforts, at least everyone knows you're a stand-up guy! I live in Vegas, & I know a little bit about the comic scene here, all I'll say is beware of ANY red hoods.
You should watch the full video before making dumb "beware of any red hoods" comments and trying to ruin a business's reputation. Red Hood didn't buy the collection, hence why he didn't pay him.

Sticky comes off as so whiny and unlikeable in every video. Done with this victim

When this guy said he'd give you a finder's fee, that's when YOU discuss how much and when. That's kind of on you.
I feel so sorry for Mrs. Stickygoose. Drama follows you wherever you go. Actually, it's drama of your own making.
I think that you are a great person, and the reward for what you do, is all the wonderful things in your life ❤

Please make a Key Collector pushing ComicTom101 comic book, Crashdown, as Key of the Week!
Sounds like you got yourself a genuine Marvel “ No Prize”
I love that! I remember that comic.

Thanks a ton, this was super helpful!
You are a good person Sticky. You helped someone cause that's how you roll. 😊
How do you know the collwction sold for $345,000?
I would tell that guy to put in the work, get them cleaned/pressed/graded and sell those beauties himself....
Great show guys, thank you
Great video, appreciate you sharing it!
Did Red Hood get outbid or lost interest due to condition?
I was outbid, and I had to borrow to afford this hefty price tag so it would have cost me too much to invest into the collection.
The other collection that you went to the guys home with the bookcases was far more valuable in my opinion he used you to sell his collection that's America.
ill definitely try that, thanks!

Yeah I don't think there's anything wrong here that anyone has done but it makes for a good video and a fun thing to think about.
very helpful, worth the watch
I understand your frustration. Hopefully, the seller will contact you soon.
wow, great video. thanks so much

Idk if I'd call Hulk 181 "everywhere", simply because the demand far exceeds the supply.
He should at least kick you back a couple of Great Books.
Oh!
I am sorry you got screwed over, but I would take this as a learning experience. Like you said, if it isn't in writing, then it doesn't mean anything.
