- A recently filmed bus vid now taken in St Ives, Cambridgeshire. We see Stagecoach buses at work in the town along with local operator Dews Coaches. At the edge of town is the guided busway and we see buses storm along on this novel form of transport. It links St Ives to Cambridge with a section beyond to Addenbrooke's Hospital & Trumpington. The buses travel along this former railway line at amazing speed as seen here! If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!
Great video! The buses go so fast!
I was amazed how fast they shot by me! And there was an access level crossing nearby, i would certainly cross the busway with care......
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus I would unless I wanted to fly into space being hit by a bus travelling 50+ mph
I lived near there for a few years! I was born and raised in Romford, moves to Huntingdon for about 13 years then moved back to Romford!
I have bus vids in Romford upload, heres one i made earlier as they used to say on Blue Peter lol ruclips.net/video/QbxNXqa6DQ8/видео.html
Like a bloody train on that busway 😂
Well, the busway is the old railway trackbed, they flew by me at around 50mph! It is a nice straight line so they do get their speed up!
lol never seen that before at end....like trains lol...wonder if they ever thought of giving buses train wheels too....bet drivers luv that
It's quite quirky to watch buses at work on a busy-way. I have just visited the Luton/Dunstable one and will be uploaded soon....
Am I right in thinking those buses are hybrids?
No, i don't think so. I rode on a double decker from Huntington to St Ives, and one back and the engine ran all the time, so i can't see them being hybrids.
They claim to run on Bio Fuel but no they aren’t hybrids
@@HDTransport That's quite a possibility.....
The switch in primacy at communications technology between Quebec and England bemuses me..one reason I'm happier in seemingly outdated Island of Montreal 🍺
Ah, we have hybrids in Arbroath, but, I'm not a fan.
I've been on a few in London. They must play hell with the starter motor with all the stopping & starting!!
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus For some reason, ours have stop/start.
Hybrid engine starts us moving, then, the diesel one kicks in, (I think).
@@anguscopland148 Yes, that's how they work. The starter motor but it must reduce their working life by quite a margin!
@@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus Well Soi, that's the problem.., they always breakdown .
Motorists having priority over pedestrians would s o aggravate me..oo la.
It's a bit like a railway (indeed, it was a rail line and converted to a bus-way) and the buses travel at high speed, best not to get in their way!
I was thinking about intersections..as in the buses careening out of that bricked up bus loop where pedestrians must wait for buses to ease into traffic.
I left the island last week, and it s h o c k s me every time having to remind myself that red traffic lights outside Montreal and NYC do not necessarily mean stop and w a i t , as turning right (turning left were we to drive on the other side of the road, yeah) on red is allowed. Altogether unnerving..red light will always mean stop to me!
@@trainrover It's like that in Thailand, i got the red lights up to cross the road and almost got mowed down by a bhat bus! The rules of the road are ..there are no rules of the road!!!
lol..Madness! Your recollection reminds me of a couple of taxi rides through Cairo I once watched here, gripping the rests to my armchair, hair-raising I tellya! Oh! And the additional exception with the permissible turn-right-on-red is that turning-left-on-red i s allowed if the intersection involves one-way traffic both roads: t h i s, I do keep forgetting!
@@trainrover Trips in a cab from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport on the motorway are quite a fun filled ride, people of a nervous disposition should not attempt them sober!
