That's one of the very first things I've noticed when finishing the games. I said to myself, "Where the hell is the credits left by Bungie?" That just shows you how jealous 343 was of Bungie.
It really sucks when you look at the ending of Halo Reach in MCC and see that they removed and ended the final cutscene just before the love letter to the fans from bungie appears. That just feels like a punch to the gut and slap to the face to me. Not only are you removing something (media preservation) but it was also something to show love to the fans (fuck the fans) It was a generally harmless thing too
I was banned from the Halo Discord Feb 2023 for calling them clowns. Changed my name to "343 Industries" or something, put a clown as my profile picture, and wrote in my bio about being clowns and incompetent and such. They weren't too happy about that.
I'm 18 and I grew up poor. My grandad was a gamer, he had an original Xbox which he gave to me some months before he passed. Halo 2 was the first video game I ever touched. By that point, Halo 5 was the most recent Halo game. I played 2 and CE on that old Xbox, got a 360 for Christmas, then played 3, ODST, and Reach. I was a bit too late to play the old Halo multiplayer but I am glad I experienced the campaign when I did. 343 is vile for what they've done to this franchise.
Jesus christ I just realized how good we had it. I was 13 in 07 as well. We had CoD 4 and Halo 3 to choose from. The literal saints of modern gaming. The entire library of the 360 was pure gold. Been gaming on PC since 2015, but I'd give anything to go back.
@@Zargabaath I discovered MW2 and Halo Reach when I was 11, rarely played multiplayer because XBLive costs money and we were broke. Still miss those days, same as you I started gaming on PC in 2015. As many things in my life that are far better now than they were then, I still want to go back for some reason.
I didn't play the Halo FPS til 2013/14 with ODST as my first. Never had internet on my 360, but between the excellent story, atmosphere and Firefight, I was entranced by the Halo 3 multiplayer maps soloing running around. Bought rest of the series on 360 in 2014. 10 years later after getting Reach, Inheritor rank achievee offline.
Which is sad because it's not like we wanted to say bad things on everything 343 industries does, it's just that it was genuinely that bad. There was a certain point we probably could have fixed 343I but I firmly believe that time has passed. Each failure only means that their next hit "has to be a success" and what happens when it isn't because it took steps back compared to the original formula and barely had any actual hard work put into it? We get Halo:Infinite, a game where you could see the soul being ripped out of it in real time. They cancelled development of MCC to have the guy who made it great try and make their next product great, but realistically they should have just let him cook. If the legacy games had their flaws ironed out Halo would have a dedicated MCC community. I imagine the reason they still have some of the talented voice actord is to prevent talented people from releasing better products with voice acting because it would just destroy anything they've made and they know it. I'm someone who gave Halo 5 a chance and only liked it because it was the last halo game to have hit detection that met my standards.
See . That’s where you’re almost right. The old “ management “ as in frank O’Connor, Bonnie Ross and Kiki wolfkill, we’re all leads at 343 industries. The mcc lead developer and support leader , was then prompted to the director of 343 industries. There fore you’re almost right and I also think this video is a bit click baiting. But none the less I find it’s been 10 years. I don’t believe they would flip a switch just to please us bungie fans. 1 . I actually think the modern controls …” sprint “ is actually good in halo. I’m happy it’s in . 2. I love bungie but the now bungie that’s owned by Sony would never be able to make halo the same . They’re not the same bungie at all now .
100&. I didn't get hyped for infinite at all while all the halo content creators were creaming their pants. I wonder why that was. Perhaps a little paid vacation to 343 industries and a little bribe on the side? Who knows.
@@rm25088Halo Content Creators are know as the "Forerunners" or as the "Shillrunners" as I like to call em. Apparently their names are in the staff community section of Halo Infinites staff credits. Plus they did went to 343 numerous amounts of times even Ubernick admitted he went to 343 to try out infinite and ended up having a fake reaction towards the 2020 gameplay trailer.
@@EvilPhoenix007 I remember hearing about that. I can't stand Ubernick. Hypes up everything to the max. The shillrunners is more like it. It is really unfair to promote a trash game and hype it up like they do. They will do it again as soon as Halo 7 comes around and I will laugh at them.
@@rm25088They should be documented for future references. Something that should have happened back in 2012 when these guys were teenagers licking 343s boots.
People like Favyn would shit talk infinite and speculate on things like Sprint - despite literally playing it before those videos meaning he was not only shilling to his audience but lying to them as well lmfao All of the Forerunners would pretend like they were seeing everything for the first time when in reality they knew what we were getting months or even years in advance. So stupid
I'm to the point that I think 343 should be turned into a satellite studio and force them to do maps and skin netcode for other games. Never to make or to work on their own games ever again. Yes, I am that petty
343 Has been making Halo games longer than Bungie at this point. I don't know why Microsoft didn't detonate the studio after Halo Infinite's reception, but there is absolutely no way they can mess up the remake/remaster and still exist after that, regardless of who is in charge or who was responsible. The name of 343 industries is inexorably tainted.
I've reached the peak and I've found another mountain to climb. Microsoft hasn't made a good decision (that wasn't walking back a bad decision) since windows 8 Edit: Windows 7, I realized how it sounds.
@@rm25088 There's a good video (long but full of detail) from C3 Sabertooth about how humans being Forerunner was 100% Bungie's intention and 343i (aka Frank O' Connor) royally messed it up and retconned it. It's called Halo: We WERE Forerunner! and a good watch. Makes me hate 343 even more tbh.
THANK YOU!!! for years I heard idiotic kids saying this to me. I was a teenager in 2014 and I remember them all saying this to me. Now we get the last laugh and can say I TOLD YOU SO!
its not nostalgia, i ran a friend through 3 and reach (he said he only played infinite which shattered my soul) and it was the most fun ive had in a while
nobody should be surprised, I still vividly remember early interviews of 343 before they started working on Halo. 4. were they bragged that they hired people who hated Halo.
I remember those interviews too and they were on the Halo Waypoint 360 app where the app wasn't very well known back then. Its a shame no one saved those videos because some idiots in the Halo Community thinks its a false narrative.
It doesnt help that the mass majority of halo content creators countiously lick 343s boots, everytime something bad happens they talk about it and next week its like it never happened, its always "WOOWAAAHHHH LOOK GUYS NEW HALO NEWS" like bro this studio has single handedly taken this industry juggernaut and made it into a joke
Halo Content creators have been like that for years. I'm so glad people have woken up to their BS like I have when it came to their Halo 5 videos and the bs they used to spew out back then.
Remember when 343 called fans entitled for wanting a product to work at launch? (MCC launch). Remember when 343 devs openly admitted to stealing ideas (like ground pound) from other games? Remember how they openly lied about Halo 5? I mean seriously, any one of these would have any other studio in hot water for eternity, but 343 does it and everyone acts like it's no big deal. I'm sick of 343 and Microsoft. It all went downhill when 4 launched.
@@supersnow17 lol? How old are you? Downhill when 4 launched? Reach had random primary weapons lmaoooo. Mini nuke nades. And no bleed melee that removed shooting from being viable at a certain range that noone actually knew or could learn because sprinting into bullets to double derp someone killed faster. Not to mention armor lock and jet pack which were obv mistakes. Then when they "fix" the dmr it deleted 80% of the sandbox from being viable. All 100% on bungie. Their flagship sending off halo game was DOGSHXT. Unless ofc youre a zombie fanboy who is too r3tarded to notice these things. Theres basically a 100% chance you never played a good halo game in your life.
Reach killed Halo. It was made under contractual obligation to Ms and was used by Bungie as road test for what would become Destiny. All the new additions that Reach introduced, steered Halo into what it became. Halo 1-ODST’s core gameplay loop was based on the trifecta of guns, grenades and melee. Yes, 3 introduced equipment but this didn’t fundamentally change that core loop.
Spending countless hours in Reach and Halo 4, I strongly prefer Reach over 4 and past releases. Controversial I know, but I had a hard time getting into 3, the movement and tiny maps were a pain to traverse. Reach added more cover, extra movement and a far better story. CE was ok I guess.
Reach was the worst halo game ever made, hands down, bar none, not close; and OBJECTIVELY speaking. you would understand this fact if you were old enough to have even played 1 good halo game. Youve probably spent ZERO MINUTES playing halo 2 on ORIGINAL XBOX competitively. AKA your opinion means dxck.
@@suntzu6122 * gasp * An opinion standing as juxtaposition to my own! Ohhh I should be so cross right now! But nah ur probably right, I can't retroactively visit the past and play the glory days with you, I plain found Reach's story captivating even if it presented a debilitating precedent that every Halo game to follow had to prioritise cinematics over gameplay.
Seeing the co-creator of Halo like her post confirmed 343 fired Joe. I'm really glad this girl revealed all this. It needs to be shared everywhere. It's like every year gives us more reasons to dislike 343. Why did Halo have to fall into the hands of such awful people? And why does their community team never face any consequences? I'm just exhausted from watching my favorite franchise get ruined for ten years in a row.
I feel you man. The part that annoyed me the most is how they kept Paul Russel waiting in the parking lot for an hour and then didn't call back after they told him they would. And I can't stand that 343 hired Haruspis. It's unbelievable how Halo ended up with such a crappy team of people.
@@riddell26literally idk why people act like bungie was going to stay the same small dev team that lived and breathed halo. They asked to leave to make destiny and it sucks as much as any of the modern halos. I’d take doing an hour in 5 vs destiny 2 any day. The game development landscape is just not the same none of these companies are going to make the game you want with an IP like halo
Really feel bad for Marcus Lehto. How terrible do you think his experience was with EA to the point of leaving the company and retire from game development?
The fact that there's rumors of Halo CE being remade on top of whatever the hell this is, solidifies the fact that 343 wants to erase the legacy that Bungie made.
Why are they even remaking it when CE anniversary already exists? Not that anniversary is a very good version, Halo CE is literally #1 on the list of games that shouldn't be remade. At least not by those fools at 343. I'm a graphics snob yet I still play CE in the OG graphics mode on PC and it looks beautiful. Art style always trumps raw visual fidelity.
@@halo091 Yeah I meant to say CE anniversary mode isn't a good version so Imma edit it. But yeah I agree, that's why I play in classic mode even though I'm a snob for graphics in other games.
Does anyone remember before Halo 5 came out 343 posted a cartoon talking about Halo 5's Warzone and REQ packs (pay to win) system? At one point in the video they have a character say "But won't paid weapons affect the balance of the game?" to which the narrator says "Shut your piehole. The adults are talking." Anyone remember that? They probably deleted it but I have it saved.
Nope! It’s still up on RUclips on the official Xbox RUclips account. I wish more people remembered that one, 343 set the tone early on and haven’t changed since.
Remember, the only language corporations listen to is money: don’t buy their products, do not promote them, do not even give them the attention that could have others buy this heresy to the Halo IP. If Halo is going to die, better that it does with an honorable legacy than with whatever soulless corporate greed 343 wants to add.
I used to think 343 were just a bunch of incompetent old board members who don't know what Halo is and want to just capitalize on profits, game be damned. Now I see they're angry little assholes who want to destroy Halo and its namesake just because Bungie made it, and we the fans prefer their version of Halo to 343's.
Imagine running a bakery amd hiring someone who hates brownies to make your brownies more appealing to people who were never going to buy brownies. The 2010s era of game design just went fucking nuts
@danielmejia8103 No, there were definitely those of us that recognized the signs and even pointed them out, but blind fanboys turned to denial and gaslighting.
Thanks for covering my post. I'll be sharing more info about Joe Staten and Paul Bertone on Twitter soon. The way the OG creators of Halo have been treated by Microsoft and 343 is really unfair, and everyone should know the truth. 💔
You drop some of the most alarming stories about 343 and Bungie, this was something people needed to see. I’m surprised others aren’t talking about it much or at all, it’s sad that something so ridiculous can be slid under the rug… The information is out there (I didn’t show some of the sources of what you said, they’re public anyway), but people still refuse to accept it, it’s a shame. Looking forward to your next info drop though! 🔥
I think the problem is that you are focusing solely and heavily on 343 and not so much on MS and old (maybe even some new) management. While I won’t sit here and say anything you’ve said isn’t probably true, there’s far more to be said on the matter that I’ve seen so far from you. For example, why weren’t the old leadership changed out early on for not allowing the old Bungie employees who could have at least helped things go on, why weren’t MS/Xbox doing anything about the company when their first game wasn't up to what they had hoped for, and why were there problems like this to begin with inside the studio that could have made Xbox and Halo worthy of a fight? Overall, while I do have high points for your post that I like, I think over all, your presentation and attitude towards the subject were very one-sided and heated, even with valid everything but something to show. You are definitely a great inside reporter, but the lack of cool-minded thinking definitely doesn't give me much desire to look into your stuff. I hope you understand and have a good day.
I wish I could do more to help but I'm doing everything I can with my new friend @RedSentimentFilms to bring this stuff to light but I wish I could do a video interview with the OG Bungie devs, your Contacts within Microsoft and 343I and show the world what's been going on for the past 13 years.
Well the reason why no one is talking about it is because all the big halo content creators like Hiddenexperia, the act man, and all the others were invited to 343 industries and everything was paid for. I think even general heed was invited and he hardly does infinite videos and never says anytthing about the game. But I may be wrong. I bet it was to bribe them to only speak positive of the games and them in general. sure, they may say some stuff about the store and stuff but it is never anything extremely serious. I now can't take anything any of them say seriously. It was mighty suspicious that they were all invited there.
343i has a "Sorry, no Bungie people." mindset? Well now I have a "Sorry, no 343i people" mindset, as long as they have a part to play in Halo, I'm out, I'm not coming back until change is made, until then👋
@cooliipie they 100% did and I've been trying to tell people since 2014... I was 19 at the time and no one believed me.. now I'm a man and no longer care about the game I grew up with sadly
Tried infinite for 1 hour. Couldnt figure out why it felt like shxt. Then it hit me. The strafe speed. 80% left/right strafe. LOL what in the FXCK??????
I dont know how you treat people who literally pushed the entire gaming industry forward 3 times in a row with such disrespect. It's pretty lame. Great video dude
Thanks! Those are my exact thoughts too. They should be honored to have the original creators applying for jobs there, but instead they’re somehow looking down upon them. It’s just wrong…
3 times? Bungie made marathon which was the FIRST FPS that allowed players to look up. The marathon series (not the reboot) pushed the industry forward 3 times! Halo did it 4 more times. And destiny also did it. Though… not for the better live service games suck. But Bungie is probably the most important FPS studio ever
@@RusticRonnieMaybe a hot take but I think Halo/CoD homegenized FPS games and crushed out diverse games like 007/Perfect Dark style shooters, and Unreal (before Tournament). They're all "you get 2 guns and some objectives". Yes I think Halo is wonderful, but I don't think we'd be worse off without Halo either. The FPS landscape would be completely (possibly unpredictably) different. Also I thought Duke Nukem was the first FPS to let us look up so thanks for that fun fact. Edit: Also Destiny 2 (haven't played 1) is one of the most mindless "pew pew walk forward" games I've ever played. Hardly a comparison of pushing anything forward..
343 cooked, burned down the house, and now Halo is a homeless mess who is on the street begging for microtransactions by shaking his red solo cup for change.
The only room really left for any benefit of the doubt would be if that was all pre-Pierre Hintz management, and he can course-correct by hiring some OG Bungie alumni.
People like you with your years of inaction are the reason 343 has been left to burn this franchise to the ground for more than a decade. Finally coming around after it's too late

@@kingdoge69 fun fact, bungie rebuilt there entire engine and literally put there everything into a game thats existance was originally defined by contractual obligation, they only made that gane because they HAD TO and it was still a million times better than the soulless slop that 343 has made
And i hate to say this, but i honestly can't wait till the day comes when Microsoft dissolves 343, and hands off the reigns of Halo to some other talented less greedy studio
I've been saying it since H4. 343 has no idea what they're doing. They've had their chance, dissolve that POS studio and give it to devs who actually CARE.
I’ve been saying this for years. The split between Bungie/343 is like that episode of Hey Arnold where Dino Spamoni and his songwriter split. Together they’re a powerhouse but the moment they split, it became more and more apart that they struggled without each other. They had their strengths and weaknesses. Dino had the voice but couldn’t come up with lyrics to save his life. His songwriter could make songs but, he couldn’t sing to save his life. 343 made the funny memes and made the wilder concept to mix things up while Bungie wrote the story, filtered out weirder concepts, and kept the gameplay and art direction consistent. Where the cartoon differs from the situation is that amends were never made and the situation kept spiraling out of control.
Even though I wanted them to reunite, the no Bungie policy sounds like a petty thing 343 WOULD do. Have you guys noticed that everything leading upto now is as goofy as old Bungie community posts? Remember the pizza skin for the assault rifle? The grunt mech? Adding Conan? Oonsk? Fronk the fish? I genuinely believe that the more goofy/childish people stayed with Halo while the ones that wanted to grow and explore went to work on Destiny. While I’m not saying Destiny was all bad, remember how stale and lacking of comedic moments Destiny 1 was? There’s a good chance that all the jokers stayed with 343 hence why 343 struggles so hard to world build and story write. Remember, they didn’t come up with WHY John got a new suit. Their explanation was nanomachines. They tried to put story second and the flashy gameplay first but after time, they ran out of ways to improvise until the community started to take notice and saw through it. ODST won’t get a sequel because it was Bungie’s idea and a testbed for how Destiny’s open world could have worked. Destiny was even teased in ODST. And when it comes to Infinite, 343 banked on nostalgia by making everything Reach-like with the armor to pander to nostalgia because it was their last real high point. They don’t do anything anymore with pre-Reach content or actual Reach content because they probably don’t know how. The moment Halo 5 beta came out, I realized it wasn’t Halo anymore. And let’s not forget how the ENTIRE art direction changed with 4 to distance itself from Bungie.
How did they ruin the flood there was NO reason to bring them back since the chief activated halo. Now there is only a single flood form that has condor with slip space so they have reason and who made that lore drop??? 343
@@dodopro4433 The flood can still exist. After the forunners activated the halos, it didn't wipe out all life in the universe plus the flood as been testing other species that were outside the halos' firing range. Hell the flood said it will return when humanity is ripe. Mendicant bias (or was it Offensive bias) is trying to prepare humanity for what the forrunners faced and failed so yes the flood has a reason to come back: The Mantle of Responsibility but 343 won't even care to bother for the lore sadly.
Agreed. The Flood migrated from another galaxy they had completely consumed, they weren't magical space dust some ancient spacefaring humans (that aren't Forerunner) fed to their fucking dogs.
@@dodopro4433You should actually play halo 3. “Like water I am, I ebb and flow”. Th grave mind literally says in halo 3 that he cannot be killed. The flood was not permanently killed off, it can’t be. It’d make perfect sense for the flood to return.
Seeing people fight tooth and nail to defend 343 is the part thats just soul crushing. You can like the new halo games, but to ignore or even fight against the issues that 343 have created is just... idk. The halo franchise is probably the biggest fall from grace in gaming history. The situation we are in now, almost seems like sabotage. I hope that some day i may have a platform to vent all the frustrations that i have as no other game or company has made me so genuinely upset. And to this day, 14 years later, nothing has gotten better. Its only gotten worse. 1 step forwards 4 steps back. As always... But when the new halo is announced, and the devils three number company displays their mark on your screen, you know most people will forget all the things they have done in the past. And the cycle continues.
it's not "soul-crushing", it's nuanced discussion. we need a few devil's advocates to point out the stuff we don't usually think about. of course, the 343i defenders need to make actual arguments first
@@botpenn4672 100% i agree about having an opposing argument so you can challenge your own beliefs. But i disagree that it is "few". From what i have seen, its the majority, as from my experience, the fans that still had hope, have now given up and left. Just like me. But in this case, i dont think a lot of arguments in support of 343 are rational or logical, as the incomprehensible stack of mistakes that 343 have made far outweigh the positives and, at least in my opinion, it is time for change. Not excusing, praising or defending them because of something good they have done while there is a mountain of screw ups blocking everything. Even to this day. Infinite, from a outsiders pov as i no longer play, looks to still be disrespecting their remaining players. With the worst offender in my opinion being the store. They know people are more than upset. Yet instead of showing that they are sorry for the state of the franchise, they squeeze the remaining players for every scrap of cash they can with predatory tactics. And from my pov, this is very much "soul crushing". As cringe this is to say, halo is a very large part of my childhood so seeing it in this state is nothing but. Idk. Again, as ive said, im basically done with this franchise so i have no dogs in the fight. As long as 343i is at the helm, i will never interact with another product they have made. I have had 3years to think on this and my opinion has remained the same, but you never know. Maybe all of this is just confirmation bias and I may somehow be in the wrong with these beliefs. But so far, nothing has come close to changing my mind. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
You see a lot of similarities with Disney and 343. They wanted to make the story their own, yet in the process they alienated the vast majority of the core audience.
I kinda agree. I will always love the franchise with all of my heart, but seeing 343 just use it to be petty and actively go out of their way to make bad games makes me just want the series to die. I’d rather the bungie era games be more of a cult classic type of thing than to see it become Medal of Honor or call of duty.
@@ethanhayes3474 Agreed man. It’s sad. I love Halo, it’s my childhood. But.. sometimes it’s better to let something you love die than to see it rot alive.

I stopped caring all together. And recently I deleted my Xwitter account due to the fact 343 fanboys on that hellhole are so thin-skinned they can't handle 343 criticisms and get absolutely butthurt that they delude themselves even further.
They literally brought Joseph staton in just to give us bad news about everything that wasn't coming to infinite and the lies..and then fire him. I guess to ruin his reputation after all the success he's done to the Halo franchise???
343 gutted Bungie's lore, art style and philosophy. They took Halo and ripped its soul out, but no one cared back then. It's good that people are starting to take notice and realize "trusting these people with Halo was a mistake", but I wish it happened over a decade ago. Now the "forerunners" (I can't even call them that lmao) are ugly barbarians without noses, our favorite space zombies were precursor coke used as dog food by "Actual-forerunners-but-no-longer-forerunners", The lightbulb of installation 04 is a caveman, all the weapons look like reach, and story-telling is almost completely absent.
"Understand this: the Mantle you have shouldered I do rescind - with far more consideration than it was granted." -Mendicant Bias (Frank O'Connor didn't write this and he didn't create the character of Mendicant Bias)
Reach weapons look good and the flood being the precursors is really cool to me, SOME of the expanded lore from 343 is good, but overall they have definitely taken halo in a terrible direction
343 can’t be trusted, 3 bad games and a butchered tv show and they actively hate the franchise and fired the only chance they had at fixing the game, joe and the others
Halo 4 had a good campaign, it gave a good ending to Cortana and expanded on Halo 3's MC characterization (I'd rather they just stopped there too but welp). Halo 5 atleast had a good multiplayer. Halo Infinite is... well atleast it had a good forge.
@@fridaysatjons1097 I view it as the opposite. It's practically overhated due to how bad the campaign was. What's funny is that 90% of Halo fans who call the mp garbage never even played Halo 5. I'm not saying it's the best. Like you said it feels very COD like, but I feel like people get too hung up on that apsect when its sandbox is probably one of the biggest and most playgroundy Halo has ever gotten, especially in its forge maps. I genuinely like how H5 handled balancing, it felt like a case of everything being op thus nothing is. I prefer that to how Bungie balanced Reach.
Seeing that some very formative members of Bungie tried to work at 343, just to be disrespected like that, is enough for me to never give 343 any more of my money, until they can prove they've renounced that nonsense and dropped being such senseless pricks.
That squidward section really hit home. I want classic Halo. They won’t make classic Halo. So I’m stuck playing things I love but have played for 20 years.
Man it's kinda funny how people are just now getting around to the screw 343 side now when I knew back when the teaser trailer for Halo 4 came out that we were fucked.
sad thing is there are thousands of people who disagree and love 343 and buy 100s of dollars worth of shit from their store. I am hoping most of them are young kids who didn't get to play bungie games but I don't think so. Why people would like 343 after all the shit they have done is beyond me. Not even the shitty games. Just them in general. Lying straight to the communities face. Multiple, multiple times.
@@ilbro7874 Other than the lack of weapons, Armor customization which used to suck now it sucks but less, colors being made purchasable, battle passes proving they falsely advertised about grinding being the way to get armor, Annoying AI that made Navi from TLOZ:OOT feel more reasonable, Story being a bootleg of Star Wars TLJ with it's beginning, and ending that did nothing to stop the ring from being repaired, utter character assassination of Chief, etc. It's about a 5/10 with firefight added to dull the blows a bit, otherwise 2/10.

Halo 1 Anniversary, Halo 4, Launch Halo MCC, Halo 5, and Halo Infinite have all had massive problems. Maybe a few years ago I would be mad at 343 rebooting the series, but I honestly don't care anymore. If they mess up for the 6th time it would probably fall in line with peoples expectations
11:15 Alex Wakeford aka Haruspis is an interesting point. Once upon a time many people in the Halo community DID like him and DID want him to be a part of 343i...then he changed. Back around 2012 to 2016 he ran a blog and one of the most popular things he did was write lengthy and hyper-detailed posts breaking down Halo 5 mission by mission with how it went wrong in specifically in the story and plot department. His posts back in that era were generally well relieved by many. Then at some point he changed and started writing insane nonsense about anyone who doesn't like Halo 5 was racist, how the Arbiter is a male feminist or how Halo 3 was sexist etc. It was like something in his brain switched and he went full "I'm a modern games journalist type please hire me 343i" mode even going as far as to go back to those 2015/2016 Halo 5 posts and writing with big bold letters on the top "um aschally perhaps I think I was too harsh on this game and 343i and uh don't really read too much into this now" before eventually deleting all of them and his blog. Thats also not to mention he is notorious for blocking anyone in the Halo community who isn't 100% positive about him or the state of Halo, it became a meme that he had like half the entire Halo fanbase blocked among other things like the time he groped the Master Chief statue at 343i despite his previous awful articles about sexism and whatnot. That man is everything wrong with not just 343i but the current state of the industry.
9:26 This alone vindicates me. I KNEW for a fact 343 shills were 343 employees running damage control on every social media platform because the hate for Bungie us unwarranted. There would not be Halo without Bungie. Bungie is Halo.
Or at least old Bungie from 1998-2010. Some people misunderstand when we talk about Bungie doing things better and think we are talking about modern Bungie. The really sad part is not a single person who worked on Halo back then works at Bungie anymore. They are a completely different company from what they once were.
What’s ironic is that while I technically grew up in the 343 era, my best memories of this game are split screen coop on halo 3 and reach with my cousins, and halo one and two on my neighbors original Xbox, which they still have plugged in today. I technically grew up in 343’s era, but I really grew up in the bungie era ten years removed. Even though bungie isn’t looking too good right now either, it’s no coincidence I loved destiny more than halo 5.
People gotta remember Old halo Bungie and New destiny Bungie ate almost completely different people. Theyre no more than same crews than 343 and bungie, og bungie are the talents that made the good halo games and the initial concept for destiny.
This whole "remaking halo ce will make 343 understand halo" excuse is so dumb, they've had 15 years to learn what makes halo, halo, remaking it will just pass on their bad ideas from 343's games into the remade legacy titles, and the story will continue and call back to their remade version, their new remake/rebooted canon, not the og games established canon...and we have hindsight how that will go by just looking at Halo 4, 5, Infinite. 343 has had plenty of time to learn, specially when they made MCC, it's not a remake, but they definitely had to get knee deep in every halo game to make that collection work, they had to understand how everything worked to make it, and even then they still had issues, issues that lasted years to fix. They should've learned everything they need from MCC, if they still haven't then it's time to pass the torch, let another studio make a new halo game, without the need to erase the legacy games' history. Bungie knocked it out of the park on their first try, without references, 343 had the entire halo bible done for them and they still can't get it right after all these years. A remake/reboot is the worst direction for the franchise.
@blondfoss Did we really expect 343 Industries not to take the lazy route? They have never committed to a single Halo plotline in any game they have released. If Master Chief VS Atriox is resolved offscreen, I'm done with Halo for a VERY long time.
The only reason I see for the hate 343 has for Bungie are higher ups being extremely insecure in their place at the company. They know they've been messing up for a decade and they know Microsoft wouldn't mind replacing most if not all of the decision makers, it's probably why they got hit so hard during the layoffs. ANY of the important people at Bungie has the potential to replace them, even voice actors since they grew with Bungie and were personally involved with everyone that made the series into the powerhouse it was. Those higer ups are the only ones with the power to make "No Bungie" the law of the studio and their insecurity around Bungie will never kill Halo, but it will kill their studio and cost hundreds of the "little" people at 343 their jobs and reputations.
Yeah I agree. It should RIP. We know nothing about pierre other than "leader of the MCC team". Oh great. That took years to become ehhh. He hasn't introduced himself or said anything. Not that I know of.
@@INF2.160 Halo needs to be given to another developer straight up, no cap. Halo could have been laid to rest after Reach, as Bungie intended with dignity, and everything would have been fine, but now we have a decade of mediocre Halo to clean up.
I used to make fun of Xbox a lot when I was younger, but I just can't anymore. It's pathetic that this joke of a studio killed one of the most beloved properties of all time, and Microsoft just LET THEM. I'm so glad I'm not a Halo fan, because this hurts enough already. I'm so sorry Halo fans, you don't deserve this.
I hope 343 gets shut down and Microsoft tries to right thier wrongs because I am done with 343 they have made bad decision after bad decision and at this point "letting them cook" has burned down the whole kitchen and the restaurant
As someone without a Twitter or other social media, this blew my mind. I knew things were bad, but not this bad, Christ. At this point MS should give Halo to iD software IMO.
Stay away from Halo Twitter. Too many delusional fanboys mostly the content creators defending 343 nonstop. I had to delete mine because I can't stand their braintot takes anymore.
@coffeeelk6364 I will say it forever, id Software is a natural choice to save Halo, there is ZERO possibility they wouldn't make an INCREDIBLE Halo experience!
A long, long time ago, video game devs cared about the games they made. Games were made to have fun. Now you have to pay money just to change the color of your armor and the devs openly post about hating the games they make and the fans who played them.
This video defeats the perputated myth that "most Bungie devs went to 343 so that they can keep making Halo" once and for all. I've gotten so tired of seeing it.
It is absolutely asinine that there talking about revisiting Halo CE and not including the people originally did it. You've had years to figure out Halo and you haven't 343 You should get the people involved that used to do it if you're going to do a remake remaster whatever. I also heard word that they're trying to tie the silver team universe into this halo. My goodness if that happens I will straight up quit Halo 20 plus years since the beginning I've been here but that s*** that f****** terrible TV show being added to the game universe no I don't think so
They never tried to “get” Halo. Their whole motive from the beginning was to make their own Halo because they actually thought they could do it better but ended up making dumpster fires worse than the last
I'm a real big fan of Halo and I play all the Halo games even Spartan assault and strike. Been a fan since CE release. The biggest problem 343 made was Halo 5s campaign and the TV series. The new head of 343, Pierre Hintze, will make a great manager if he can leave his ego out the door and hire previous employees of Bungie and 343 employees. I'm not going to act like 343 didn't have talented people, They just had terrible management with Bonnie. I like how everyone goes to the helmet as a key issue but believe me that TV show is the most cringe-worthy crap I've ever seen in my entire life. Visually it looks quite nice but that's as far as it anything else it's pure garbage. I didn't even bother with the second season I heard that at the end there it started to look like they ran out of money.
@Unbrokensoul89 If they DARE put Silver Team into a Halo CE remake, I don't care that the next Halo will be on Unreal Engine 5, we as Halo fans must boycott every aspect of the game. Fuck the Halo TV show, worst video game adaptation and quite possibly the worse TV show every created. Thank god its dead.
@@iLegionaire3755 I'll add to the fact that now that the show is canceled, if Christopher Nolan gets his hands on the halo IP he would be smart to scrap the silver team universe all together and just do a trilogy movie series with blue team with original voice actors, helmet on, and no cringy romantic scenes. What's terrible is that they could have done a romantic scene with Spartans or something that was lore accurate but instead the first season gave us the most cringiest romantic scenes I've ever seen in my entire life. The fact that it was rumored that they were going to try to tie it in and they was bouncing around their heads makes me sick.
Such a shame where halos at ever since the awful infinite launch this things have just goten worse, in the time since, we've got a show that licks balls, a grueling 2 years to get infinite at a ok state just for it to cut off content and become 20$ skin updates and the death of mcc updates last year. At this point im just looking forward to other titles now like GoW or even cod if that turns out well. Rip Halo
Makes sense why 343 can't develop a good game even if their life depended on it. I don't care if there are good people at 343, fuck em all. The should never fucking touch Halo ever again and never should have in the first place
343 Industries should be in the same position as Volition at this point. As a Halo and Saints Row fan, it's disgusting how the newer devs threw away both franchise's history .
@ELIZABETHMARLONE2005 and when will you stop giving chances to a company who clearly do not respect the IP or any of the original creators. They had their chances, they had multiple changes in leadership, nothing improved and only got worse. Don't defend them, you come off like a paid shill at this point.
@@ELIZABETHMARLONE2005Do you realize that 343 is still a shit company whether they have Bonnie Ross or not? Stop blindly defending them, they’ve had 13 years of chances and they’ve squandered the large majority of it.
you know what scares me the most if the remaster is a thing? retcons. a remake is not a remaster. Halo CE anniversary was a remaster, ( if the rumor is true ) i am 99% sure they wil remake the whole Bungie era Halos, i have suspicions that they will completely retcon the plot of the forrerunners being ancient humans, retroactively include the BS team from the serie etc...
I hope Microsoft/343 do try to remake Halo because they'll ruin it. There are those among us who have given up hoping, and started taking action. We remember what Halo meant to us - to everyone. If they do alienate the fans any further, it will only create a wider window for smaller studios to take the spotlight, and make what Palworld was to Pokemon look like an entrée dish. We're not there yet, but we will be. All we need is time.
@@hung8969 I think the idea of it being a prequel sold it as a new title because it gave them extra freedom to do whatever they want with things such as the armor customization but I think the removal of the battle rifle and other guns such as the covenant carbine as well as major things from mechanics all the way back to Halo 2 such as dual-wielding was definitely a major mistake on Bungie’s part in terms of core gameplay in Reach, as well as number of other iconic weapons, but I’d say it’s perfect for it being the final send off, at least in terms of the campaign’s story.
At this point it’s funny, 343 has been failing their way through game development while Microsoft looks the other way like an alcoholic single mom. They’ve been pissing their pants and crying about how they never want to see any bungie developers cause bungie did it better and that’s not fair, even trying to fire the original voices everyone knows, and calling the halo fans evil and mean for being mad because they weren’t given a finished game when it launched. I will eagerly await the next 343 incident, cause it’ll probably be even funnier than this.

The fact that 343 didn't include any of the original credits in the original trilogy speaks volumes about how this shitty company feels about Bungie!
I NEVER thought about that...
They were Angry that the Success of Bungie wasn't Their's. So they'll do everything in their Power to Destroy what we Love.
That's one of the very first things I've noticed when finishing the games. I said to myself, "Where the hell is the credits left by Bungie?"
That just shows you how jealous 343 was of Bungie.
They also removed the post credits scene from halo 1
It really sucks when you look at the ending of Halo Reach in MCC and see that they removed and ended the final cutscene just before the love letter to the fans from bungie appears.
That just feels like a punch to the gut and slap to the face to me. Not only are you removing something (media preservation) but it was also something to show love to the fans (fuck the fans)
It was a generally harmless thing too

I'm 18 and I grew up poor. My grandad was a gamer, he had an original Xbox which he gave to me some months before he passed. Halo 2 was the first video game I ever touched. By that point, Halo 5 was the most recent Halo game. I played 2 and CE on that old Xbox, got a 360 for Christmas, then played 3, ODST, and Reach. I was a bit too late to play the old Halo multiplayer but I am glad I experienced the campaign when I did. 343 is vile for what they've done to this franchise.

the "fire 343" people were right
We were ALWAYS right
Which is sad because it's not like we wanted to say bad things on everything 343 industries does, it's just that it was genuinely that bad.

343 Has been making Halo games longer than Bungie at this point. I don't know why Microsoft didn't detonate the studio after Halo Infinite's reception, but there is absolutely no way they can mess up the remake/remaster and still exist after that, regardless of who is in charge or who was responsible. Halo died after Reach

Just wanna say you’re based. From someone on the inside.

3 times? Bungie made marathon which was the FIRST FPS that allowed players to look up.
The marathon series (not the reboot) pushed the industry forward 3 times! Halo did it 4 more times.
And destiny also did it. Though… not for the better live service games suck.

I've been saying it since H4. 343 has no idea what they're doing. They've had their chance, dissolve that POS studio and give it to devs who actually CARE.
H4 and the reach takover left a bad taste in my mouth. Then the they force-fed their bullshit with 5 and infinite. They suck man.
Saying it now, if the next Halo title is a 343 game, I'm not even going to bother, I don't care if it's free. 343 isn't Halo.
343 ruined Halo and the Flood!

it's not "soul-crushing", it's nuanced discussion. we need a few devil's advocates to point out the stuff we don't usually think about. of course, the 343i defenders need to make actual arguments first
@@botpenn4672 100% i agree about having an opposing argument so you can challenge your own beliefs.
People still play the original Bungie games, don't know anyone who still boots up 4 or 5 to replay the campaign
If Master Chief VS Atriox is resolved offscreen, I'm done with Halo for a VERY long time.
lets also not forget that anniversary collection was completely broken for many years with all sorts of bugs.
Also they’re not very faithful to the originals particularly ce anniversary
If 343 is still this bad even after the leadership change, then idk if halo can be saved. Might as well let the property rest in peace.
This is like the 30th leadership change. Halo has been dead since 2015 :(
Yeah I agree.

There needs to be a class action lawsuit against 343 for ruining Halo on purpose
I wonder how Twitterers and Redditors who like defending 343 are gonna react to this?
Knowing the NPCs with the Spartan IV pfps. They are probably not taking it well.
343 does not need to exist any longer, they need to be dissolved and reorganized.
Remember when 343 claimed bungie left them with no documentation of Halo/blam?
I hope 343 gets shut down and Microsoft tries to right thier wrongs because I am done with 343 they have made bad decision after bad decision and at this point "letting them cook" has burned down the whole kitchen and the restaurant
@Jeepon35s gotcha
@spartanjeffrey9993 Preach the truth.
"Let them cook."
My brother in Christ, they have burnt down the kitchen 4 times!
A long, long time ago, video game devs cared about the games they made. Games were made to have fun. Now you have to pay money just to change the color of your armor and the devs openly post about hating the games they make and the fans who played them.
Their name is 343, of course they’d betray us!
I think this video tells the whole truth of what 343 has become. They betrayed us.
@@shadowninja1275 Has become? 343 Industries was engineered from the very start, to betray the Halo franchise from top to bottom.
This video defeats the perputated myth that "most Bungie devs went to 343 so that they can keep making Halo" once and for all.
I've gotten so tired of seeing it.
I got blocked by some clown on Twitter when I provided a link from Vice that 343 didn't want Bungie people once he played that myth lol
As a Halo and Saints Row fan, it's disgusting how the newer devs threw away both franchise's history .
do you realise that 343 isn't run by Bonnie Ross anymore or are you gonna keep blindly hating and not even give the new management a chance
Bonnie, Kiki, Frank; these three damaged the Halo franchise
you know what scares me the most if the remaster is a thing? retcons. a remake is not a remaster. Halo CE anniversary was a remaster, ( if the rumor is true ) i am 99% sure they wil remake the whole Bungie era Halos, i have suspicions that they will completely retcon the plot of the forrerunners being ancient humans, retroactively include the BS team from the serie etc...
I dont trust 343. That studio needs to unhappen.
I was 9 in 2012. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing that my family couldn’t afford a 360. CE was my first Halo.
Halo died at Reach.
nah it died more at halo 5
Reach died at halo
Almost every Halo game Bungie made was awesome. (They made one before the Xbox)
Agreed. Reach was even a step too far from 3 for a lot of us. But the armor system, custom games/maps and forge sold it.
The "no bungie people" thing was the nail in the coffin for me, what a disgusting company.
God, Microsoft just needs to take Halo from 343 and give it to a studio that actually cares about the franchise
