You're referring to the North Hollywood Shootout. It was real and because of that attempted robbery policing in the entire US changed. Before that incident departments basically armed their officers with a sidearm and shotgun. After that departments across the country started to militarized their units/officers with assault weapons, other arms, and armor that essentially only SWAT teams had before. It was a big, big even in policing in the US.
The bankrobbers were using modified kevlar armor, full auto AK's with Chinese armor piercing 7.62x39 rounds that were punching through the cop cars. The Police had to send a couple of officers to local gun shops to get them rifles. Their 9mm and shotgun rounds were not penetrating their armor, and the bank robbers were also high on drugs. It was crazy and it lead to Police being issued rifles.
You know, there are some good videos of that incident on YT. Might be interesting to see their reaction to that. The Brits, banging on The Yanks for their gun culture. Could be fun.
Assault weapons have the function to be automatic they have semi automatic carbines plus one of the main reasons is when a .223 (ar15 round) hits drywall it tumbles loosing alot of its kinetic energy while 9mm will just punch through drywall no problem this makes any miss in a high stress situation alot less dangerous to innocent citizens
Police were being heavily militarized before that and some of the people that talk about false flags and they don’t consider the north Hollywood shootout one to increase that militarization…? Weird…
You got to react to Key and Peele Pizza Order and you have to follow it up with Key and Peele Wendell Sex addict Meeting. They need to be in that order because they are related. The most hilarious tandem of videos the show has IMHO. Wendell is absolutely hilarious.
@@iLazer It's funny on so many levels. Don't know if I'd say it's the funniest but it's definitely among the top. And you need to watch it to fully appreciate the Wendell Sex Addict video which is also one of the funniest.
if u can find it, "SlapAss" is probably their best skit. But it's the first one. It was so popular that they did a 2nd one, but the first is the best one
I’m really happy over the Key and Peele sketches! There’s a lot of things I missed over the years, many of which I’m glad, but these guys are hilarious! The Hollywood shootout is the bank robbery attempt that Dave is referring to. Yea, the robbers got all armored up and had self converted full auto rifles. The police sidearms couldn’t penetrate the armor, but some cops dashed into a gun store and came out with ARs and ammo that would. One was taken down with a head shot close to the scene and the other ran into a residential area where he tried to car jack a ride. The driver got out, but kept his keys in his hand. The cops came and shot him down under the car he hid behind. He bled to death and the family sued because he wasn’t put on an ambulance quick enough! 😂 Well, when you spray hundreds of rounds and wound as many as these guys did, I’m sorry, you don’t get the first or the twenty first ambulance!
Congrats on 100k guys. Found you on a random react search and have loved the different reactions ever since. Thanks for keeping me entertained. Cheers 👊🏻
OB's: Keegan Michael Key was a mainstay of the main stage at the Detroit Second City improv troupe. He later moved on to Chicago's stage. He and Jordan Peele met and both went on to be featured in a sketch-comedy show called MadTV. They had a great chemistry due to their shared brilliant improv skills, mixed race heritage and and acting versatility. And they were funnn-nny. They paired up to fill the void left by Dave Chapelle parting ways with Comedy Central. They were the voice actors of Ducky and Bunny in Toy Story 4, improvising a lot of their songs/dialog. If you haven't seen Toy Story 4 yet, then do so, with a box of Kleenex tissues. They were both in the movie Keanu together. They seem to have separate but parallel careers now. There is a s**t-ton of material from the Key and Peele Show, which as you've seen, is brilliant. I'm not sure what you've seen of their show so far, but the following skits come to mind (I'm not sure of the titles, but here are the key google words): sweating husband, slave auction, soul food, touchdown celebration, civil war reenactment, racist country music, bullied. Check 'em out if you haven't already. Cheers
I *LOVE* how you guys have still only done one video on Devon Larratt and Daz still slips that "Yeahh, Jerry!" line somewhere in to the intro pretty regularly.
Key and Peele Skits to react to next... Insult Comic, Sex dectective, Continental Breakfast, Alien Imposters.... Job Interview, Mob Hit gone wrong... the list goes on and on 🤣
Hey guys, I haven't seen you yet to react to Weird Al Yankovic videos, who made Key and Peele come to light decades ago. they featured in one of his videos called "White and Nerdy" would be funny if you check him out, not to mention The all time best the Amish Paradise
No, those bank robbers in L.A. weren’t wearing suits of armor. They were wearing full military body armor from head to toe. One bank robber committed suicide once he saw that he couldn’t get away. The police got the assault rifles from a sporting goods store, not a pawn shop.
As tjf explained...the shootout I'm pretty sure you are talking about.. north Hollywood shootout. they had live clips from it and made like a movie starring Michael Madsen.
Here in SoCal , the North Hollywood Shootout was a VERY big deal at the time. It’s the event that triggered a lot of American police departments to stock up on more military grade weapons. It was back in ‘97 or ‘98. I also remember that Blockbuster video stores couldn’t keep the movie Heat on the shelves for a bit afterwards, even though the movie was a few years old by then.
Sounds more like the Kevlar armor the two guys had, with ak47s and drum magazines. Those cops had to break into a gun store or pawn shop to get automatic rifles. It was in LA sometime in the 90s and probably what he’s talking about.
Your talking about the "North Hollywood shootout" that happened in 1997... It's one of the reason US Cops Started to be more military like with gear & tactics
Oh, I definitely remember that. That shoot-out was here in Good Ol America. L.A., I think. Yeah, they had full body armor. They were taking rounds and it wasn't doing shit to them. They were shooting the hell out of the cops, they had assault rifles themselves... Just standing there like The Terminator, shooting the shit out of cop cars and everything
The "North Hollywood Shootout" they built head to toe Kevlar body suits, robbed a bank with AR's and AK-47's and heavy caliber battle rifles in the trunk of their getaway car, along with thousands of rounds of ammo. The cops brought their "six shooters" and 9mm's. It worked out as you might expect. HOWEVER.... the only fatalities were the two perp's.... so there's that.
Hey guys. Ilike your content. You should watch Sebastian Maniscalco, Jeff Allen, Ross Bennett, Joe DeVito, Sinbad,or Mike Siegel. These are some of my favourite american stand-up comedians.
The North Hollywood shootout was one of the most violent heists in American history, though suprisingly there was no deaths. Other than the failed bank robbers.
The North Hollywood Shootout. There's a ton of explanation videos. I think theres a channel called Quixr who made a video about it. Thatd be a great react. The police were completely outmatched for the majority of the firefight.
"It's April". He delivered that line so well.
One of my favourite lines in years
The North Hollywood shoot out is what you’re referring to. Would be very interesting for you guys to react to it.
Dang you beat me to it haha. Hopefully one of our comments makes it big so they notice and make reaction video.
Yea that would be a good reaction, that was a wild scenario
I was like you explained it perfectly wrong.
I remember that day. It was unbelievable that it wasn’t a movie set but real.
TV movie 44 minutes The North Hollywood shootout.
If you blokes doubt ppl like Michael keys character exist, I'll fly yall over to Florida w me and can go see this live at any random pawn shop😅✌🏼
@@GhostWatcher2024 Never saw "East London Man" or "Glamorgan Man" popping up in the news

Oh it will be.

Yup. Had to make sure that was mentioned. The body armor they were wearing was modern though - Kevlar. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago.

I agree that they need to be watched in tandem. But it isn't the funniest. There certainly are funnier ones.
The pizza one isn’t nearly as funny as some of the others

That One Guy Who Still Says “These Nuts” - Key & Peele one of my favorites
My favorite part of this is that Key keeps saying he's shopping for Christmas gifts. At the very end, Peele reminds him "It's April".
My brother's ex-wife didn't even start that early. She waited until August.

I love Weird Al, but Key & Peele were famous before the White and Nerdy video.
@@JasonZakrajsek yeah, I know they were very very famous in 2008
That shoot out happened in LA if I remember. But they had body armor on. The intro of the movie SWAT, was a copy of it.
This guy is Wile E Coyote planning a bank heist. Too funny!
He was talking about the North Hollywood shootout bank robbery. Y’all should react to a reenactment
Congrats on 100k
You guys are amazing, chill and real. Subbed after watching 9 videos. Can I request Key and Peele "The Crazy Clown"?
The North Hollywood shootout. The bank robbers wore homemade steel body armor. That's what he's referring to. It happened in 1994.

They had proper body armour. It's was a shootout in North Hollywood.
Y’all gotta watch why British actors always end up with the good roles key and peele
Congrats to 100k!!! Can you guys react to the angry video game nerd reviews of tmnt or silver surfer?
I think that the "shootout with armor" is you slightly misremembering the "North Hollywood Shootout". (The guy in armor was actually shot in the leg).
I don't miss it whenever they do key and peele
Just noticed the newspaper headline - Thwarted Terrorist Attack
The "North Hollywood Shootout" they built head to toe Kevlar body suits, robbed a bank with AR's and AK-47's and heavy caliber battle rifles in the trunk of their getaway car, along with thousands of rounds of ammo. 7:00 I think you're talking about heist movies like "Heat."
The North Hollywood shootout was one of the most violent heists in American history, though suprisingly there was no deaths. Other than the failed bank robbers.

The cops had to borrow rifles from a gun store!!! Now LAPD cruisers have an M4 carbine in the trunk.
Key and Peele storming out of an interview
The North Hollywood Shootout. There's a ton of explanation videos. I think theres a channel called Quixr who made a video about it. Thatd be a great react. The police were completely outmatched for the majority of the firefight.
"It's April."
Maybe office blokes try can do a myth busters style video of if bullets can penetrate a suit of armor
Another series I like is "Drunk History"
