I think that Oz sent her on a suicide mission either accidentally or intentionally. He may have sent her to go after Salem with the illusion that silver eyes work on her (summer wouldn’t know that she’s immortal/unkillable but Oz obviously did and didn’t tell her) where she obviously dies along the way, dies to Salem/her inner circle or gets captured by Salem/her inner circle. It may of been to purposely give Ruby a reason to become a Hunter. Summer might of outlived her usefulness to Oz. Of course Summer could’ve acted independently as she thought that she could defeat Salem with her silver eyes.

Everyone deals with grief differently. Both Yang and Ruby tend to put their feelings on the backburner for the sake of others, but Ruby does it much more often than Yang does. Leading up to the scene with Salem in volume 7, Ruby had already been holding in *so much* pain and the shock of Ironwood's betrayal certainly wouldn't help with it all just...tumbling out. Sure, Yang didn't cry at the mention of Summer, but she looked pretty damn upset regardless, if you asked me.
Ruby isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer she later goes onto to Yang not to lose to someone in a skirt (Nora) when they arm wrestle only for Weiss to point that she also wears one.

The biggest one , I'd assume, is for the sake of Ruby. It's only recently that we've finally seen how it's torn Yang up inside and I love to see it.

I think summers final mission was an attempt to kill Salim. She realized she had so much in common with the grimm, her eyes might work on her. And if she realised Salim was the one killing siver eyed people, she knew Salim would come for ruby, to kill her daughter.

I don't speak English, I use the translator, but you, who are fans of this series, you think that characters like Tai, Whitley or some like that, are wasted? In my case I see potential to explore Tai even a little, only in fan-made stories can he be very relevant, but I think he is wasted, as a father, and his feelings in general. The guy was abandoned by his first wife, his second one died, and apparently his daughters don't visit him much, maybe it's the writers, but that's just my opinion. As for Whitley, he can be explored as someone who can change, someone who was shaped by a manipulative father, an absent mother due to alcohol, although the last thing I saw that they get along well, and from his point of view his sisters abandoned him, these are small or big things that I see in those characters, even if it is a bit of potential for an interesting story that don't deal with the protagonists, I await your responses.

Tbh, I have stopped wathing RWBY around volume 5. To me, this show was always on the brink of turning really good, but it simply refused to take that final step. Which just made me gave up on the series. Seeing small compilations like this makes me want to go back and check it out again. Like, part of me looks at this and thinks "Oh god, what if the plot actually is good now?!" but I'm afraid it's not and it'll just be disappointing lol

@@eren34558 Consider this: Tai may not have fathered Ruby, but he does raise her well. Qrow raised Ruby too, but Ruby does look more like Qrow and looks up to him more. And think of the interesting story they can explore with Qrow and Summer. Of course it would be a incredibly sad and tragic, but it adds another layer of depth to Qrow.

In my case I see potential to explore Tai even a little, only in fan-made stories can he be very relevant, but I think he is wasted, as a father, and his feelings in general.
The guy was abandoned by his first wife, his second one died, and apparently his daughters don't visit him much, maybe it's the writers, but that's just my opinion.
As for Whitley, he can be explored as someone who can change, someone who was shaped by a manipulative father, an absent mother due to alcohol, although the last thing I saw that they get along well, and from his point of view his sisters abandoned him, these are small or big things that I see in those characters, even if it is a bit of potential for an interesting story that don't deal with the protagonists, I await your responses.

Tbh, I have stopped wathing RWBY around volume 5. To me, this show was always on the brink of turning really good, but it simply refused to take that final step. Which just made me gave up on the series.
Seeing small compilations like this makes me want to go back and check it out again. Like, part of me looks at this and thinks "Oh god, what if the plot actually is good now?!" but I'm afraid it's not and it'll just be disappointing lol
It's okay. It's mostly up to you. The latest season was actually probably my favorite newest season.. But that's because the volume 8 opening song is so good lol.
