Hope you had a great day. Thank you for watching and commenting, much appreciated and yes, free parking in the Lakes, most unusual. 😀

Could the tree with orange coloured flowers have been an azalea? I remember azaleas standing at the entrance of the High Close grounds coming up from Red Bank.
My parents were the first wardens there from 1953 till February of 1961.
A really nice walk you did there.
    Thanks for taking us along.

Quite possibly, I'm not well up on flowers, but they were very striking. Interesting story about your parents. Thanks for your comments and taking the time to watch my video, much appreciated.

@@northernwalks5426 I like to blather :) and I know it helps a channel grow.
But it is true. You'd find my father in the YHA history of High Close. Not all informations there are sadly quite correct. Pa was not called The Boy, but simply Boy. But it is true that self cooking after 9 pm was not allowed. He had mounted a sheep scull above the inside door of the self cookers' kitchen with the caption: this happened to someone who cooked after nine! ( something to that meaning anyway).
More than 60 years of living in Germany and I'm still homesick.
      Keep walking!
      Take care.

@@medievalladybird394 Thank you again, I loved the story about the sheep scull - what a way to make a point ! Glad you enjoyed the video, for the homesick there are lots of good channels on youtube relating to the Lake District. If I could suggest a couple - Black Crag and Lake District Films are among my personal favourites, lots of videos to check out there. Keep on blathering, it's good for you!
