I'm sure my diesel heater on my Vivaro is tapped into the fuel lines without dropping the tank. Also I would prefer a clean air intake otherwise it's like heating stale air. I would still be worried about an underslung diesel heater with all the flooded roads we get and the water getting into the electrics. They are not waterproof in any way.
Agree about slate air..exactly same though went through my mind as well. I still think it’s a best place for heater.. this is where vw mounts oem heaters I think… it’s all covered with undertray…it’s not exposed at all … u would not even see it if u lift a van 🚐 it’s all hidden away plus I’ve got all terrain tyres which gives u a bit more clearance… ur feedback is much appreciated!!!
