I've been commissioned to make a double shot snake for a customer. It's nearly impossible to find any information on them. I'll be using bison leather with a cotton canvas lining and Irish charger head. My main issue right now is finding any dimensions on the bag/pouch. I'm sure your video is going to help me on this order. How many pounds of shot will this hold at 12" long and the 3¼" circumference? It'll help give me an idea of how large to make my costumers. Thanks
Just saw your message. I’ll check on the how much it holds. I never really checked. I just filled it. The length is what I thought comfortable on the body. There are a few images out there of double shot snakes. I think they started showing up around 1840+. Good luck! I hope your project goes well
@nathanjeffery3059 it's all good. I found a pattern from 1966 on Tandy's website. I only used it for reference but it at least gave me an idea of how much volume is needed for 3lbs. I have a feeling that that's a bit more than the average person wants to carry. Figure 3lbs of shot, 3500ish grains of powder, the gun, and any it's accessories... he's gonna be weighed down haha. I appreciate the response though. Just wish there was more information out there about these. Before my customer asked, I never even heard of em. But I'm not a blackpowder guy.

@@maddawgnoll sounds good. I couldn’t find much at all either on them. That’s why I made the video.
