Congrats, man! I applied for Artlist maybe 4-6 months ago and didn't get accepted, but thinking about it now, I should've waited as I was still very new to writing music suitable for these music libraries, literally just came up on my first full year a couple weeks ago. But, sales have been picking up on A.J, Pond5, Motion Array and 123RF, so I'm happy about that at least. Hope you get great success on Artlist!

I guess this will be a big move for you and incomewise I expect that to be another Motionarray for you (at least hope so).
After the experience of Daniel getting rejected and your experience with Artlist aswell I still don't dare to apply to them. I'm only one year in now and I think I'll give myself another year of experience in writing and putting together a catalouge especially for artlist.

congrats and thanks for the informative video. Artlist accepted my application in February and I'm still waiting and hoping that my music will go live on the website soon. So you confirming that it took that long is encouraging. Do you put specific tracks on Artlist exclusively or do you still sell the same tracks on Audiojungle and other sites?

Hi Steven, thanks for the informative video! I've been following you for a while now, and even though some time has passed since the video, I just applied to Artlist (thanks to you). Can I ask how long it took for you to find out if you were accepted or not? If I don't receive any email from them in the next few weeks, should I contact them anyway to ask for feedback on my application?

Congratulations Stevie! That's great news! I have been preparing a 5 track EP for Artlist from sometime now, I can totally relate to the anxiety and nervousness of submitting to new libraries, specially like Artlist. Do you think 5 tracks will be enough to submit or should I aim for more? Btw you can also try Soundscape if you want, I have been with them for only 2 months as of now but it seems like a great library with some really good music. I had one question regarding PROs as well, I have recently joined USA BMI, I was wondering if I have to register every track with them or just mention that I am affiliated with BMI on the libraries, specially for Pond5 and AudioJungle, as they give you a column to write IPI and other details. Thanks!
Hi Mansij! I think 5 is enough to submit, and I believe you have to register all your works with BMI in order to receive performance royalties for any given track. Thx for the support and good luck!

Definitely check out Motion Array if you’re writing lofi! Good luck w Artlist!

Thanks so much for your videos, helps a lot! Do you think Artlist prefers composers who are not registered with any PRO? Or maybe the downloads are better with royalty free music than music that is registered with BMI etc. or do you think it doesn't matter?

Can you actually make money from Artlist ? How do you feel about libraries like these ruining the industry for other composers. It seems like it’s more about offering “exposure” to composers than actually hard cold cash and royalties.
My payout from Artlist in 2021 was $18,700. That was for 14 tracks. That figure doesn't include streaming and PRO royalties.

Remains to be seen! It depends what their annual income is divided by the downloads. I will do a video on it when I get paid at the end of the year :)

Ive been searching EVERYWHERE for artist payments. I NEED to know how much (on average) a single song can be licensed for, and how much Artlist takes. I hate how non transparent they are.
Artlist doesn’t do single song licensing, it’s all based on annual subscription fee revenue, of which they distribute a percentage to their artists based on number of track downloads.
