4 wheel drive is also a safety feature when using a loader. Tractors only have rear wheel brakes. If you load the bucket and head down a hill the weight shifts forward and you now have no brakes. Use low range so that the front wheels slow you down.
Very good point!! I learned that the hard way! Exactly what you said happened to me once!! Freewheeling downhill on my front tires! lol I clicked the 4wd one and it stopped my freewheel! Thanks
Great video Kapper. All great advise. Joe got the challenge thing started and I accepted challenge from Wild Kioti. Enjoy doing this, lots of fun. Thanks for your awesome tips.
My old tractor doesn't have any of your top 5 features but I still appreciate all it does for me. I bought it used 23 years ago (1981 Ford 7600 diesel) and It's my first and still my only tractor.
Great tips Joe... A guy down the road from me has a 40-horse with no cab. He is running and rebuilding a farm and he's gotta be tough. 30-40 below and the wind is howling and cattle and other livestock to feed. Cab would be my 1st consideration ;).
Truth on all 5. Width and value of your time is the 6th... The game of tractoring is skewed towards 6' wide attachment based machines... If you can go smaller, it will save a boat load. With that cab tractor, pay up or go into debt a bit for the rear dual remotes (one detent, one spring) to run a rear hydraulic top link and other rear attachments like log splitters, chippers, or any sort of backhoe... and front 3rd function (real if you can, but not a deal breaker to get a "diverter" that you have to share buttons to operate on your loader joystick). The number of times I wish I had a hydraulic top link... Frankly, rear driven bush hogs, or finish mowers 2nd hand are plentiful... But your tractor "core" machine is the most valuable thing to get right up front.
Very good additions for sure! I always get 3 rear scv's and use a hydraulic top link! Good point on spending on your 'core' machine, and saving money later with used implements! I like it! Thanks.

All great tips, thanks Kap!
Thanks man! Stay cool down there in the Texas country!
All good tips. The #1 tip should probably be “always get bigger than what you think you need”. (horsepower, etc).
Absolutely! I had to learn that hard lesson myself! lol
Agree 100 percent on your 5 things for tractors
Thank you, I appreciate it. No doubt this list can get much longer, but I tried to hit the real major ones first.

Thanks man, wow, them are some tough conditions for sure!! Yep, a cab would make his life much easier! Cheers man!
I didn't know you can put fluid in the tires that's interesting
It makes is safer and reduced the tipping hazard as the weight of the fluid is very low to the ground (low center of gravity).

Amen to a Cab 👍🏆🏆👴🐕🚜🕺🤪🤠
Roger that!!
I don't understand. If you own/owned several tractors why do you ever have to hire a welder?
Not everyone that has a tractor has a welder, or even knows how to weld.. I do have a welder myself but I sure ain't a welding pro :)
💪👍👊Great Kapper! Look what you started!😂😊 @joethefarmer challenging others for best tractor options video! Nice job!🚜🇺🇸
Lol anytime!! Thanks and good luck!
