I am 72 from Winnipeg and when I was very young, we used to say that so-and-so looked like they had been whomped with an ugly stick. Never new there really was such a thing. Thanks for this.

I'm from the UK and obviously have exposure to South-West British and Irish accents (and the Newfie accent is generally considered to be somewhere between a combination of the two of these). But the accent of the guy in the green shirt had me hanging on for dear life. I'm thinking that only his mother and siblings could possibly understand him.
