Youth Programs and Recruitment

The Lifeguard Division demonstrates its commitment to the community of Los Angeles by providing a variety of youth programs, public outreach, and educational opportunities. The Junior Lifeguard Program runs every summer with a total annual enrollment of about 4,000 kids. There they learn about ocean and beach safety, physical conditioning, basic first aid, competition, and recreation.
