Love your videos thanks so much for making them!! I see at times you leave out some info/topics in your CISSP 8 module series. Is that because that info won't come up on the exam and you are focusing on info that will be on the test?
Glad you like them! Never heard that anything important to the exam is missing. What are you topic(s) are you talking about specifically? Feel free to comment here or connect on LinkedIn chat for easier discussion.
Thanks for your videos! They are so helpful. But I’m curious how you can customize the digital flashcards (Sybex official study guide, 9th edition book) by specific domain? When I try and customize them it’s only how many flashcards I want to see and whether or not to use what was seen or not.
The quizzes are configurable, but unfortunately the flashcards are not. Makes it difficult to get through all of them. There is an exam flashcard app I created you may want to consider. insidethemicrosoftcloud.com/flashcards/
Better than that. Using the chunking technique, we enable you to choose from DOMAIN 1, 2, etc, but also roughly 40 other categories, enabling drill down on many specific topics to focus on your weak areas. You can poke around free. Register with your favorite social identity and you can see the first 5 cards of every category without subscribing.
I do have the bundle and I'm looking over the practice exam questions/answers, but I'm not seeing that there are indicators of what module the questions would be pulled from. I'm trying to set up a plan to do that 80/20 study plan, but I'm trying to determine how I'd know which module to focus on based on these practice questions.
Even using the official study bundle quizzes, I think you do have to match your incorrect answers to domains yourself. If you are interested in practice exams that break it down by domain for you, Pocket Prep offers a low-cost monthly subscription set of CISSP practice exams that sort your score by domain. Also offers a mobile app so you can take quizzes on your phone. www.pocketprep.com/?ref=peterzerger/exams/isc2-cissp/

I cover 2021 updates to CISSP in ruclips.net/video/Ga0AGx83ioo/видео.html. I would characterize updates as incremental. However, the new guide is reported at the link I provided to be coming in early July. I'd suggest waiting a week or two and buying the up-to-date reference.

Thank you for making these videos! I just started my prep for the CISSP! I'm actually watching your 8-hour CRAM CISSP session and using your PowerPoint slides. One thing I'm a little confused on I hope you can help clear up. In your 5 step study strategy video, I bought the CISSP electronic version from your link. I know you were able to pass this exam in two weeks, but are you saying for Step 1, we need to go through the entire Study Guide before moving to Step 2? Seems like that thick of a book would take me longer than two weeks to even get through lol.
No, I am not at all suggesting you read the entire book. I am saying "use the quizzes to find your week spots" and then read select topics in the book to strengthen your weak areas. My exan prep strategy is also detailed in the 8-hour course at ruclips.net/video/_nyZhYnCNLA/видео.html. I also explain how to create a custom quiz for a specific domain in that section at this point - ruclips.net/video/_nyZhYnCNLA/видео.html

Good question. I didn't set a date until after a self assessment (practice quiz)/ gap analysis and a pass through study guide table of contents. I needed to know that the date selected was realistic in terms of giving myself time to prepare. I think setting a date before you've analyzed your knowledge gaps is pretty risky given the price tag of this exam.

How are the years or experience determined and by who? If you been in the industry for 15y and at a “senior level” the last 5-7 years, are you qualified?
Have you been in a security-related role for five years? ISC2 says five years experience across two of the eight domains. www.isc2.org/Certifications/CISSP/experience-requirements
As a Sr System Engineer, I handle mostly firewall and switch management, AD, and everything in between in some shape form or fashion. So I would say yes I hit at least 2-3 domains but that’s why I am curious how it is determined. Good faith, references, both, or those and some?
From what you've described, I don't think you're going to have a problem. I think they followed up on my work experience. If they follow up on yours, it would mean they're talking to somebody in your chain of command which would be a good thing I think. Then, after you pass the exam you need another CISSP vouch for you.
During my prepation using other Exam material on the internet, I found stuff that are NOT covered in Sybex's study guide. Is it possible that the real exam will contain material that's not covered by the guide?
Sybex guide includes an "Exam Essentials" section at the end of each chapter, pointing out probable exam topics. The CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) will cover more topics, often in greater depth.
This video kinda left me discouraged for someone who has no security experience as yet. I had started preparing for the exam, I have the cissp study guides.
CISSP is definitely not a good first security certification, since it assumes you have five years of experience. A good first security cert is Comptia Security+ - Start here - ruclips.net/p/PL7XJSuT7Dq_VD3eHXQf3Ld2ceBSFCayns
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity I am currently doing a master's in information security management. When I read through the questions I have ideas about what is being talked about but no technical experience, This is where I picked the ideal to do the CISSP certification.
Do you have just the exam prep book or the bundle I mentioned? (exams only come with the bundle I believe). If you look in the front few pages of the book, you should see instructions on how to access electronic resources (the 'interactive learning environment'), including now 1000 flashcards. amzn.to/3Iuhgrp
Bruce, I took a moment to go find the details. You only need the 9th edition e-book to get access to the electronic resources, and to access them, the book instructs "To start using these to study for the exam, go to www.wiley.com/go/sybextestprep, register your book to receive your unique PIN, and then once you have the PIN, return to www.wiley.com/go/sybextestprep, and register a new account or add this book to an existing account." Looks like 1020 flashcards are available at present.
I bought the recommended books and was ready to take the quiz to asses to see where I should concentrate on my studying. However, each domain has a practice test that is almost 100 questions per domain and the back of the book has practice questions, however how can I easily tell which ones for the back of the book are for which domain? For example if I miss 30 questions in back of the book the questions are not linked to a domain so I won’t know how to determine what domain to concentrate on
At the time I made the video about my exam experience, it was true. This is one of the very few CISSP videos I made before the 2021 update to the CISSP exam, at which point ISC2 changed that requirement.

This was the first CISSP video I ever published. You should really be looking at my full course and all the PDFs there, which includes content for all eight domains and exam prep strategy. ruclips.net/p/PL7XJSuT7Dq_XPK_qmYMqfiBjbtHJRWigD
Thanks for previous information
My pleasure. 👍
Please update your link. I wanted to give you a kickback but they put out a newer guide I bought after canceling the purchase made with your link.
Thanks for the heads up. Indeed looks like the new link did not get added to this video. All in the series now updated.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity Thanks! I knew I wasn’t crazy. Lol I’ll look into yours. Thanks again for all your content and the speedy reply!
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity Are your flash cards domain specific? Can I choose what domains I want to study via the Flashcards?
Better than that. Using the chunking technique, we enable you to choose from DOMAIN 1, 2, etc, but also roughly 40 other categories, enabling drill down on many specific topics to focus on your weak areas. You can poke around free. Register with your favorite social identity and you can see the first 5 cards of every category without subscribing.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurityperfect, thanks!
Hi there, this is very information video. Thank you for posting it. Can you please share the link to your powerpoint CISSP notes?
You will find the link to the powerpoints for all my CISSP videos in the description below the video.
Hello Sir, regarding the official CISSP guide has been updated according with the last version of the exam objectives. Do you think is ok to buy the version that you suggested? I understood that the content has only changed in a couple of domains (Number 4 and number 8) adding and substracting weight. Thanks again!
Thank you very much Mr Pete for the feedback I will check them right away.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity Mr. Pete what do you think about CISSP All in One Exam Guide from Shon Harris and Fernando Maymi? I have the seventh edition that i got on sale from local bookstore? I know its old but I think it covers the content, maybe could be + the CISSP Practice Questions book? Thank you.
@@pabloefernandez8248 it depends on when it was last updated. Ms Harris passed away in 2014, and I am unfamiliar with the maintenance of that text to present time. I would certainly focus on a text updated for 2018 exam or later.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity got it thank you Mr Pete I will follow your recommendations.
Hi ,
Where can I find the powerpoint slides that you mentioned for Step 3 in your video .
In the video description, but I would suggest you look at my full course for CISSP I released about 4 months ago - ruclips.net/video/_nyZhYnCNLA/видео.html
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity i would assume we need to cover all topics/domains from your ppt and make as a quizzes on step 4?
Not a right forum to ask but, CISSP All-in-One Exam Guide, Seventh Edition is still valid for 2021 exam? newly added topics can be covered from internet. Is it worth reading the 7th edition?
It definitely nice to have, but the 2021 exam is in many respects an incremental update. See my "what's new in CISSP 2021" video - ruclips.net/video/Ga0AGx83ioo/видео.html to get an idea. Reach out anytime with questions.
Hello Pete,
After extensive searches on the net, I recently came across your channel and great advices from the provided videos
They are amazing and I am about to start the work towards the CISSP certification
During this "pass in 2 weeks" video, you mention (11:22) that it is better to leverage "study notes" from someone rather than creating from scratch your own. You advise about links in the comments to access some of them. I am unable to find.
Can you please provide?
PS : I understand study notes are different from the powerpoint materials for each domain that you have shared in the complete 8h course description
Thanks much!

@@InsideCloudAndSecurity Thank you, response much appreciated.
However this is not what I am asking for : there is NO link in the full 2022 course description that points to any study notes. There are only links to the pdf presentations of the modules.
It looks like If I don't find any existing notes to leverage, I am going to have to write them from scratch - I'd like to avoid this as much as possible, i.e. do things the way you advise. Any chance for me to have access to any, even if they are extensive? Thanks much in advance again.
HI I COULD NOT FIND THE POWERPOINT SLIDES Can you send me the link please
In the video description, but here it is - 1drv.ms/b/s!AmhtzcmYt5AViLBN2-oTcAErb8Pi_g?e=kpATnt
How did you manage to do this and why did you do it so quickly just curious?
I just focused on the process, and the process revealed when I was ready to take the exam. Prep time will be different for everyone based on previous experience, but this process will help you prepare much more quickly.
Hi all , I am just confused Peter is don`t over preparing/practicing and he`s recommending to practice the 1300 question in the official guide plus the 700 flash card ? can someone pls advise ,

The "PowerPoint Notes (starting point)" link is not working. Are you able to update it?
Unfortunately, appears Joseph's domain recently went offline. Pulled the link as it's lost to the ages. Nothing in there you won't find in this series anyway.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity Ah ok! Thank you for answering! I’m only about 1 hour in through that prep video, so will take the time to watch the rest of it. I downloaded your PowerPoint slides from that video already. I’m planning to give myself a month to plan, prepare, and then take the exam.
@@sjames916 ping me anytime with questions. Good luck! 🍀👍
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity thank you so much
Did you have your exam test date selected before you began studying?
Good question. I didn't set a date until after a self assessment (practice quiz)/ gap analysis and a pass through study guide table of contents. I needed to know that the date selected was realistic in terms of giving myself time to prepare. I think setting a date before you've analyzed your knowledge gaps is pretty risky given the price tag of this exam.
I don’t do that with any certification. You can easily schedule it when you feel comfortable and done studying
Very helpful! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Good luck on the exam! 👍
I am unable to refer to the PDF presentation. Seems like the link is broken, can anyone else confirm this?
You should now use the PDFs indescription below CISSP Exam Cram Full Course (All 8 Domains) - Covers latest exam!

@@InsideCloudAndSecurity thanks for the prompt replies and for the content as well.
Anytime 👍
During my prepation using other Exam material on the internet, I found stuff that are NOT covered in Sybex's study guide. Is it possible that the real exam will contain material that's not covered by the guide?
Sybex guide includes an "Exam Essentials" section at the end of each chapter, pointing out probable exam topics. The CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) will cover more topics, often in greater depth.
How does one prove experience if they are no longer in contact with previous employer
If the person you ask to sponsor/vouch for you with ISC2 knows your experience, that’s probably good enough.
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity and if you don't have anyone
Impressive that you could do in two weeks! Took me a year and two tries and had to use lot more resources than you!
I think it was the combination of 20 years experience at the time, coupled with being a very efficient studier. 😉
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity well I have 20 year as well but slow reader and was weak in many of the domains.
@@novadhd definitely a really big body of knowledge they test over.
Where are the 700 Sybex official flash cards mentioned? I have the OSG and question book already and cannot find them. Thanks
You only need the 9th edition e-book to get access to the electronic resources, and to access them, the book instructs "To start using these to study for the exam, go to www.wiley.com/go/sybextestprep, register your book to receive your unique PIN, and then once you have the PIN, return to www.wiley.com/go/sybextestprep, and register a new account or add this book to an existing account."
Looks like 1020 flashcards are available at present.
Thank you for the follow up- I finally found them inside "Go To Test Bank"
I bought the recommended books and was ready to take the quiz to asses to see where I should concentrate on my studying. However, each domain has a practice test that is almost 100 questions per domain and the back of the book has practice questions, however how can I easily tell which ones for the back of the book are for which domain? For example if I miss 30 questions in back of the book the questions are not linked to a domain so I won’t know how to determine what domain to concentrate on
Have you tried the online practice questions that come with the study guide and practice exam bundle?
@@InsideCloudAndSecurity I just signed up and started taking the test. Hopefully at the end it breaks down the scores by domain.
Thank you for taking the time. BTW today is Dec 29. Refreshing my glass of holiday coquito before I take your practice exam. 😇😇🤓
Cheers and good luck! 🍾🥂
you dont need to pass each domain, that is not true.
At the time I made the video about my exam experience, it was true. This is one of the very few CISSP videos I made before the 2021 update to the CISSP exam, at which point ISC2 changed that requirement.
Very useful ! thanks .. by the way it's 15th Dec already ;)
